good instructions… BUT Kitchen rule Nr. 1: Always start with the Onions UNLESS you cook mushrooms! ;) always start with mushrooms. They have way more moisture in it then Onions, if you dont get rid of that before u put onions, it will have much weaker taste.
?? That`s a pretty awful recipe, You missed out a lot you should`ve cooked the beef first and you never used a beef stock, plus you should use diced onions.
Wow! Where do I even begin?? The recipes worked out to a fine art or the crisp, clear and concise instructions coupled with sensible helpful tips or how each video is masterfully culled to three minutes precisely, matched with flawless filming, lovely soothing music which is just enough to add a nice background but not too loud to be jarring or your gorgeous accent which just makes me think of delicious family dinners gathered around a table groaning with food. I have now tried a few of your recipes and each one has turned out perfectly. Your dauphinoise potatoes are a creamy bubbling melting heaven of cheese and honestly I could happily devour the entire dish by myself. Look forward to trying more of your recipes!! You're absolutely brilliant!
Oh wow what an amazing comment. So glad you are enjoying the recipes and the videos. Chris and I put our heart and soul into our food and to get a comment like this makes our day. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such an amazing comment the world needs more of this kindness.
Oh my goodness I want to cry. My nana made this when I was younger and I never got the chance to learn to make it but your recipe is so similar. I'm smiling from ear to ear. This is going to be so delicious thank you 🙌♥️
omg i just accidently found that you can move the subtitles any where on the screen!!! that is so cool, no more getting the way of what you're trying to watch
Made this the other week for my parents!! Was delicious and perfect instructions. Thank you! Great videos & tutorials. Would love to see so more fish style dishes/recipes/videos
Glad you enjoyed it and the instructions were helpful. We're moving house to be closer to the coast soon so will definitely be cooking more with fish :)
Made this tonight but didn't have meat but had chuck pot roast- cut that thinly sliced. I did coat it with flour, salt, pepper. Just simply dredged the meat in flour then put in butter & oil in pan, didn't have heavy cream but I used 1/2 & 1/2 instead. This was an amazing recipe. The family went crazy. I literally cooked for exactly 1 min & it was still little red but oh soooo good. The flour really changed this up for the better. Great recipe. Thank you for sharing. Keeping this one.
I had a 15 oz ribeye ready to cook for dinner but now I am going to cut it up and make beef stroganoff out of it. I've been in the mood for that anyway. Thank you for the video
I neverrrrr thought I liked beef stroganoff, two days ago I had it from a hot cafe in a hospital and I had it over bow tie pasta noodles everything was so creamy and smooth very buttery very cheesy tasting I think that was from the cream, I asked for all mushrooms and no meatballs tho. This recipe looks soooo yummy I love mushrooms I love steak ! Onions cream all of this lol gonna try definitely
Used this recipe for dinner tonight and it was Delicious 👍 Best stroganoff I ever had. The leftovers I made egg rolls with the next day and those were the bomb 👍😋 Thanks for sharing the amazing easy recipe for this. 😊❣️
I just made this tonight. It was just a little bit watery, so I used a bit of cornstarch to thicken it. Truly delicious. My family loved it. Didn't know I could make beef stroganoff. Definitely a keeper. Thank you for sharing your recipe. 😊
Are you from the states? It might have been watery because your heavy cream isn't as dense as our double cream here in the UK. I would just use less heavy cream and more sour cream or crème fraiche next time to get the consistency you want.
I'm from another country, but your cooking is the best. I'm desperate to be healthy, but I think eating is important. Both of my parents had dementia, so I quit my job and took care of them. Last year, they both passed away after 3 months. It was stressful. My parents passed away, and my body and my heart ached a lot. I got a brain aneurysm on my head and two brain aneurysms. I even had hypothyroidism, so I suddenly gained 15kg. I have to diet. Anxiety disorder Panic disorder I still suffer from insomnia. It's been a year since my parents died, but I'm still in treatment, but it hasn't been long since I started again. I started RU-vid, took a walk, and traveled because I had the courage to share and communicate. Now I want to be healthy. I hope everyone watching this video is healthy. Take care of your health first.
TY, This turned out delicious! Not bad for my first time. Although, I couldn't find ribeye, so I used NY. Also, I had to add more salt/pepper at the dinner table.
Watched the video & I'm literally starting to make it right now. I have made beef stroganoff many times but the other ways are more complex yours is so simple thank you so much ❤️
This looks lovely and delicious! We’re having this tonight, though ours will be sans mushrooms as neither of us like them. Thanks for sharing this gorgeous dish!!
Hello I'm a staff of a Korean broadcasting program. We looking for vedio of stroganoff recipe and finnally find vedio in your RU-vid channel. We hope to use your vedio for our Show. Could we use it? We must mark a copyright. thanks for reading my message.
So simple and perfect. I saw another video though I don't have white wine and mustard... so I was like darn though I do have the rest of the ingredients Thank you for the short and sweet video
I did this recipe and it’s just so simple, easy, and delicious! To me it’s important to have a good quality meat and cast iron pan to sear the meat. Oh the smell when you’re cooking the onions and the meat is sooo good. I added garlic to the onions and porta bella mushrooms. Quick, easy, delicious. Thank you!!!
I made this recipe tonight and honestly? It's terribly bland. I'd have to give it 4/10. I see in other recipes people add 1tbsp worcestershire sauce. I'll try that if I ever revisit this recipe.
good morning Beef Stroganoff or Beef Stroganoff is a Russian dish made of sauteed pieces of meat served with Smitana sauce. Since its inception in the mid-nineteenth century in Russia, it has become famous all over the world, with a significant difference from the original recipe. Great recipe with all its ingredients Have a nice day for you and your family
Good recipe but some omissions. 1. You need garlic or shallots in the fry. 2. Before adding cream, sprinkle flour and braise it with the beef and onions, till slightly browned. 3. Deglaze with white wine and Dijon mustard. 4. Now add heavy cream or creme fraiche (never sour cream which curdles). 4. Dash of cognac, sprinkle fresh minced parsley. Done. You are a bit heavy with the cream. Forgot the mustard. This is a cream and mustard sauce invented by a French chef for a Russian aristocrat - Stroganov (correct spelling). Everyone calls it Stroganoff which is incorrect. It is Boeuf Stroganov.
I made this last night. I made sure to brown the beef and use the pan fond to build flavor - I deglazed with 3 Tbl of brandy. However, in the end it was still bland and watery even after I allowed it to simmer at the end. I had to add more salt and a cornstarch slurry to thicken. It needs a little garlic, maybe a small clove minced and added in the beginnig with the onions and mushrooms. Next time I will just use double the sour cream and skip the heavy cream all together and I'll add more salt. Other than that, it was good.
So much oil and butter! Here's how- two teaspoons oil no more- high heat, add strips of steak and cook fast and seriously hot to seal and keep rare, add onions (one medium sliced) and three tablespoons brandy, flame, add paprika- teaspoon, pour in a quarter pint of double cream and Chuck in half a beef stock cube and pepper to season, sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve with RICE! shrooms are optional. Use quorn pieces and veg stock cube for a vegetarian option. Can also make the sauce zing with lemon juice if you like. All that should be done as fast as possible, bring the sauce to boil and out onto the plate keeping the meat medium rare at finish if at all possible.
I have no idea why Asians and occasionally South Americans complain when it’s not served with rice even though it’s a Russian dish and it’s not specified how to serve, it was simply adapted by Brazil and parts of Asia, I understand Russia is Eurasian but not all of Asia is reliant on rice it is mostly the east and the south while the best and north usually subsist on bread. To be accurate though it is actually a fusion dish between French and Russian cuisine but it is heavily Russian.
Very disappointed with how this turned out… it wasn’t terrible compared to your other dishes you’ve made, this was very flavourless… I followed all instructions and measurements and I have to be honest it was a huge fail… it wasn’t until after I made it that I noticed you have an updated version from 8 months ago that sounds way more flavourful 😢 wish I would’ve seen the other one as I made this for a family dinner and no one was left satisfied… I’ve made so many of your other recipes which were delicious but this just has no flavour.. without Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce and everything else that goes in beef stroganoff. I would recommend possibly removing this version and keeping your updated one posted.
Dear Kitchen Sanctuary this looks absolutely fantastic. Could you do me a favour and ask Chris if this could be made in a crockpot please. Thank you kindly. Take care and God Bless. 🧡
Looks a nice recipe was planning on having this tomorrow night New Years Eve will follow your method serving it with fried skinny chips I believe that,s how the Russians like it do I detect a bit of Merseyside in your voice.
Mine was disgusting. Not to crap on your recipe but had to wash it just to eat the meat which left it with no flavour and now I have no dinner. Not happy
hey i tried it but i didnt taste anything, only the thickened ream and sour cream what do i do, also i didnt add mushroom when i put the thickneed cream and sour cream, i didnt let it cook for long, only when was abit bubbly
