Thank you for this video!! I just bought a Q20/Q-matic longarm machine a couple months ago and have yet to start using it. To say the least I am a little overwhelmed. I had a quick 30 minute lesson and I have read all of the manuals. This video helps solidify what I have read in the manuals. I am visual learner so this is so helpful. Thank you!
Please keep these QMatic series videos coming. I have a QMatic and have unfortunately moved away from the store I purchase it from so I don't have access to their classes. You are the first person I have understood on how to use it. I am really interested in how you put the whole pattern you are going to sew on the quilt, on the screen and then how to advance with the QMatic as you advance the quilt. I have done two quilt tops now and am fairly happy with the turn out but both times at some point during the sewing I have gone over the row that was sewn above. Thank you for all you do to help us newbies.

Wow! One of the very best QMatic videos I’ve ever seen! I have the Q20 and just converted from table to frame. I’m trying to decide if I want to invest that much money to get the computerized program.
New to the Q-Matic, only owned mine for 3 days. I forgot some of what my dealer/installed taught me when setting it up, and this is perfect to refresh my memory. So excited to start working on my first quilt on the q-Matic system.
Interesting - you do your’s differently and more simply that I’ve learned! You don’t do the “trimming” part on each row. That’s the part that confuses me the most! Love that we have options - thank you for the logical tutorial…

Tip on adding a chosen design to your design area. Move your sewhead to the spot on the quilt area where you want it and the double tap puts it right there.
That would really be easier than snapping to point for every row! Did you have to queue the design before the first pass? It wasn't in the video ... if not, do you know whether I can "plug and play" like that with my older version of Q-matic (~2020 with upgrades)? Thanks!
Apparently, Gayle doesn't like to use the realign safe area procedure when she completes a row and advances the quilt for the next row. Instead she appears to set the safe area over again. I suppose it doesn't matter but is it a "don't matter situation" because of the particulars of here quit or is it always a case of either or with respect to realigning safe or setting it again after quilt advancing?
