I think it would be fun if you gave your children the budget of $20 let them pick whatever food out of the supermarket and then you have to cook food for them for the day
Another idea we've done with our kids...when they're middle school age we give them a budget for a day and they have to budget it out for meals for an entire day. It really helps them learn how to manage money and to appreciate how much things cost. Some of them have cooked by themselves and some have needed some help.
That is a great idea Paula! Have the boys work together & have them plan the menu & shop the meals for 5 days or a wk! That would be fun to see what they come up with!

Y'all can ask around as there are plenty of folks that have down trees after storms and some are not able to cut it up and remove it. Many people will not charge because y'all are helping them out. I know several people in different states that have that problem. They had storm that went through the south. We have that problem in Indiana. There is a down tree on the sidewalk of the US road in my area. No one wants to do the work to get the free firewood.
About the gigantisaurus zucchinis: I like to cut them in half lengtwise, scrape 😮out the seeds (chicken feed) then bake it with meat and spagheti sauce with cheese on top. I hear that the overgrown zuchinis make the best zoodles.

I think, just hear me out lol, that the flashlight obsession with most men (my Husband included) stems from our beginning days as humans. Because if it's not flashlights it's lighters, and there's definitely a love for knives, guns, and fishing stuff. Oh my goodness!! The coke and peanuts take me back to my childhood in the 80’s. Mom would stop at the neighborhood convenience store after school and she would get me a bottled coke and bag of salty peanuts. I thought she was absolutely crazy for putting peanuts in the coke, but wow they were and still are amazing. Brings back so many wonderful memories. 🙏
Oh my gosh I love your blackberry plants. They use to be all over in Florida and now you never see a bush anywhere. I love blackberry picking. Lol...I usually eat as many as I pick😂
My husband is obsessed with flashlights. I thought he was a weirdo. Lol Good to know I am not alone. We put topsoil in our chicken coop every few months. Before we add it, we dig a bucket or 2 out to season for our garden. We seldom have an issue with smells. We live in SE TN.

My Mom would take the overgrown zucchini, hull out the seeds, then stuff with cooked rice browned sausage or ground beef, canned stewed tomatoes and italian seasoning then bake in the oven til squash was cooked through. Really good, cheap too. Well cheap those days.
I just watched this video and told my husband you play one of my favorite road games! Count the Dollar Generals is top of my list. I live about 2 hours away from your area and they are everywhere. They just built 2 new ones near me and now I have at least 8 within 10 minutes of my house in various directions. Every time land is cleared around here, everyone says I wonder if it's a dollar general 😂

We grew up with RC Cola and peanuts here in NC. Whataburger serves witch doctors which is a mixture of all the soft drinks on tap with pickles in the bottom. Everybody swears by it, but I have never tried it myself.

Tell Brayden that bunny poop is great fertilizer for your garden. They cost so little to keep. lol. I bought 4 cases of those canning jars. They are great and cheaper than Ball. I was at Tractor Supply.
We have 8 of those 6.99 lights and they are literal life savers if you have flat at night or your electric goes out every time it barely rains 😂😂and for fishing at night
Nice family day beautiful scenery, we're in northern lower Michigan, we love taking a drive like that too. My grandma used to can blackberries and pour it over vanilla ice cream best topping ever. Simple things are the best childhood memories.
I agree with you about just taking wood from non designated areas. Fallen trees provide important habitats for many critters and microbes. And eventually they breakdown to nourish the soil and grow other trees. I loved the bunnies, I have one and he is the best pet I have had, and brings me a lot of happiness. Was lovely to see your family having such fun together.
I’m from Iowa & in the 70’s we did Coke & peanuts! Our Coke was in glass bottles then. Sooo good! My grandkids think it sounds gross! No, we haven’t had rain in a month & a half. Send some our way! We’ve had a sprinkle 2 or 3 times. That is it!! Our county & a couple surrounding counties are the only counties in our state in the red for drought. Our lawns are brown. It’s terrible! Ugh!😮 It’s been 6 wks since we last mowed. We’ve still had to whack weeds though!🙄

My family is from Hazard KY and we used to put peanuts in our cokes, Pepsi's and Dr Peppers. Have you ever eaten pickled bologna? That was always good too.
Our city has a place you can go drop off trees that you have removed to be chipped and get logs if you need them. You do have to cut it yourself and you can’t be picky on what kind you get. I do think we would use a gas one more often because it doesn’t have so much smelly smoke and is less cleanup.

Dad got annoyed at trying to keep him in pants, bought pants 4 inches too long and went “talk to me again when these are too short” 😂 What can I say I’m annoyed I’m stuck at 5’3 for life and these boys out here just keep getting taller.

Hi Brooke this is Sue, we bought a gas fire pit a few years ago, and it is wonderful, especially when you go camping and there is a fire ban on, no wood burning, but these are allowed we bought a round one so that it fits in our trailers storage area,,and they roast marshmellows and weiners great, enjoy it.
Thank You for the video. I have been working on making it easier to make food. I have these dehydrated potato cubes. I boil them to rehydrate them and cook them. I then drain them and add assorted condiments to make a potato salad.

Girl- spices and herbs can be good for coops and runs- from basil to oregano - to mint etc look it up there are many health benefits- lil bit of apple cider vinegar with the mother in it in their water- tiny bit is really good for their health and lessens need for antibiotics - doesn’t have to be every day- chicken mama for 4 decades now- lavender will help with odors and reduce stress- I also sprinkle some garlic powder on scraps at times
