Reverse the winch and re-wind the strap so it comes off, and goes on the spool correctly and that will put the winch handle on the port side as it should be.....
* I agree with all your improvements, but why didn't you switch the winch handle, and the trailer jack to the driver's side. The way you have it set up, you'll be constantly climbing over the trailer tongue.
I'm working on up grades to my CC 2005 Palm Beach 161: spot light for the bow (magnetic base) and can use on the helm (navigating at night & finding unlit boat ramp. Will add LED backup lights to trailer. Already switched to LED tail lights. More plans, LED deck lights, compartment lights & stern lighting for night fishing. Add DC outlets/switches. After that....convert old Elgin aluminum 12' to Bass boat. The challenge (?) time and purchasing items. "Few items at a time".....retired & set income. Enjoy the work and love fishing. Nice upgrades to an old trailer. I wonder with your investments in parts, why not restore the trailer frame before adding new parts ? Maybe that's a future project ? I plan on converting a Northern Tools 40"x48" trailer to a boat trailer for an old Elgin 12' aluminum boat. Elgin is a bass boat "to be" though she doesn't know it yet...lol. Good fish'n days for you.
Definitely a future project, I was in a rush to get the trailer up to spec to take the boat to a welder. I plan on sanding and doing a new coat of paint for sure.
It wouldn't rolled into the trailer very well if I did that, the roller that was replaced was just super old and dry rotted, the new silicone one installed shouldn't split any time soon!
Anybody know where to find the mounting pin used in this video to attach the transom saver to the trailer, I would sure like to purchase one for my rig.
