The company’s website is annoying because it asks for email and all for a quote instead of just posting prices for like a box or pieces. But I still watched this entire video because this guy’s 🔥
We agree that the website could use some work. They’ve got great customer service in our experience however. Give them a call or an email and we think you’ll agree! Thanks for the kind words (Dan will be thrilled 😎) 👍
That looks fantastic. The only thing that's concerning is when you go to their site they don't have a link where to purchase the product. All they have is a link to ask for a quote. An ask for quote button = ridiculous prices that's why sites don't put the prices on the page. Would you mind sharing what a box of that brick will cost and how much area does a box cover?
Hey! We totally get where you’re coming from. Unfortunately we can’t be of too much help in this department either. The prices we pay won’t be the same as what the general public would pay. There’s also a bunch of different styles of brick that range in price. The sheets are roughly 30”x 20” for the style of brick we used here, but it’s possible different collections have a different square footage. As frustrating as it is, we highly recommend calling for a quote if you’re interested (ask for Glenn, he’s been really awesome to work with 👍).
Excellent video ! I have new construction with my black metal wood burning fireplace insert installed . Now I want a white brick looking surround with a hearth . Will this product work for that ? Thanks
It should- but you might want to check with Century Architexture to be safe. The tiles are made of plaster, so we can’t imagine you’d have a problem- but we can’t say for sure 👍
Gypsum material survive in more than 500 degrees Celsius... If you're not going to create foundry near your fireplace, you can... Checked by practice... However better check in your authority... In Ukraine we do it on our own mind
This application looks very real!! Might be a dumb question but...can this be applied to hardboard? I hate the idea of doing up an entire wall just to grow tired of it in 4-5 years
Amazing! After seeing that brick wall in your "caulk gun" video I never guessed that it wasn't real brick. Is it made of real brick material? What is the adhesive that holds it to the wall? Thank you for sharing !
Thanks! They’re actually made of plaster, but have a very similar look and feel to real brick (only way lighter and easier to cut ). You use the same material you would use to adhere tile, so just about any good thinset mortar will do!
Hi! Great video, t hank you! I have seen feedback on other videos that it is very heavy and maybe too heavy for a normal inside wall with sheet rock - thoughts?
I would wager that anyone suggesting that theses are too heavy are likely using a different product. The Century Architexture tiles are made of plaster, and are lighter than most mosaic sheets you’ll find for doing backsplashes etc. The project in this video was installed on painted drywall, as were a few others we’ve done over the years and we haven’t had an issues 👍
As long as you start with a high quality primer, you can essentially use whatever paint you’d like as a top coat. The plaster is very porous, so you’ll use a lot more paint than you’d expect on your first coat (save some money by using a primer instead of a top coat first). We used Digby Paints in a low-lustre eggshell finish as a top coat 👍
Great question! They’re made from plaster, and our best guess would be probably not (but we honestly don’t know). Would definitely be worth reaching out to Century Architexture to ask. www.centuryarchitexture.com/contact.php
How i see it.. it's a gypsum tiles... Friend , the way how you install this.. that is totally not good organised process... But in overall...it looks nice
For this application we used thinset mortar in a ‘homemade’ piping bag, and wiped down the excess with a sponge. We highly recommend using a vinyl grout/mortar bag with an applicator tip and a brick jointer if you want to keep the joints clean. Our client wanted it to look messy, so we weren’t too concerned with how we applied the mortar👍
