Great video. I’m looking for a faux brick for my bathroom and thought this was going to be it, but when you panned the whole wall at the end of the install I could totally make out all of the individual panels so it was a no for me. Thanks for showing everything!!
It's pretty easy to see the panel lines@6:57 - not a bad end-result for a workshop, but for a higher-end home one would have to go with an alternative product
this is really cool...hoping they sell this or products near to this here in australia...will look great around our kitchen/dining area...like your video bob...mitchell & carlene
Ha! I am going to take that quote and put it against my garage wall. I was looking for something/quote i can use for an LED Laser light i am working on for over my work bench. Amen! Nice work by the way and the brick wall was for my garage but that quote though...
WOW. This is exactly what I have been looking for. So glad I discovered your channel. Please tell me where to find the second product you showed, the PVC material that you said is often used on movie sets. It'd be perfect for an accent wall I'm working on. Thank you.
This stuff is WAY less expensive but strictly for looks. Harder to paint. Might work for you . They will send samples. www.rosebrand.com/subcategory247/vacuform-scenic-panels.aspx
It looks like stamped concrete. What if you'd like a little color to the concrete? Would you paint the mud joint portion one color and the brick portion another color? I know when they paint a brick House, the character is ruined forever. Foam brick panels? I hope you never get a hailstorm.
@@BobsTwoCarGarage No way! I live in laguna niguel, but am shopping in aliso viejo! Lol I was something more down your alley, do you have a business phone number? I'd love to talk about contracting you (your team) on renovating my home. Maybe doing a video together? I'd be happy to push my subscribers to watch it on either of our channels too!
I'm super interested in the wall opposite of the one you are showing here. It is white, with what looks like, some rolled on black. Could you please make a video showing how you've done this or is it wallpaper? Thanks!!!
I love your video. It helps a lot. Appreciate! Very helpful. I have quick question. What specific name to see products on the website. I would love to buy exactly the same style and color on your video. Could you please give me exact name of panels. Thanks so much
@6:53 you can really see the panels. Wonder if that's because the panels are overlaying each other pushing the tenon bricks outward a bit or the panels needed to be snugged up together more?
@@BobsTwoCarGarage Too bad at over $100 a panel. Those Home Depot/ Lowe's panels are around $35 and are 4' x 8'. With the right tool, you can cut a jigsaw pattern on facing edges of them and then touch up the grout joints after installation with paintable caulk or spackle especially if you intend to whitewash the bricks afterwards. Longer process, but for those on a budget, on a square foot basis the project will cost about 1/10 of the price of the foam panels.
I ordered the door and the hardware from "Rustica" on-line. There are probably better deals out there but they make things simple and deliver and they have lots of options.
I don't know if you read comments on older vids, but I'm wondering if you think this would work for a wall in a mobile home. I know there's a concern about weight on walls in mobile homes. The wall I want to do is only 7x7ish. I've been considering the self-stick ssquare foam panels but I dunno. Also, if you know a contractor in Palm Springs who would be interested in doing the job, please let me know. I'm not skilled enough nor do I have the tools to do it.
Very interesting. Im going to to this to our living room. Our wall is red brick and mortar but our landlord will not allow us to paint it white so we are going to go ahead with this project. I'm thinking of installing (3) 4' X 8' pieces of plywood to the brick wall and then use adhesive to the 'White Brick' Panels like you guys did in this video. Do you think that that would be the right way to go about this project?
How were you able to anchor that map of the world picture frame (showing in your video) to the faux brick wall? By nailing it on top of the faux brick?
Wondering if it will help w sound and somewhat hard or will a vacuum cleaner dent it. So how did you 'take care' of the horizontal issue in the end? You know what stinks is on their website they say it should never have that 'look' w the line. what about staggering the panels themselves so theyre not straight across? you think that would work better? Good proverb, I wrote it down!
It’s in a sound stage and seems to work well the rest of the studio has only minimal acoustical material. It’s durable no problem with denting so far. I think the line problem might have been unique to that batch if I had noticed sooner I would have remilled the panels myself with my table saw on the back side to make them fit better. As it turned out they were happy. It wasn’t terribly noticeable except to a critical eye.
Hello, I have a 70's real stone fireplace floor to ceiling, any suggestions on how to install these panels on top of the old stone and what might be an issue with the panels when using the fireplace, any suggestions?
I wouldn’t recommend this for a real fireplace of course heat and foam don’t go together well. Also it would require a lot of prep to get your stone flat enough to lay the panels on.
What kind would you recommend for one wall of a covered outdoor pool house? We have beaded board now, and it gets mold often which is a nightmare to keep clean.
Cindy Robinson there is a wide range of possibilities depending on your budget. Fiberglass is least expensive and carefree. Depending on the look you want there’s corrugated metal, teak wood. A high end but carefree option would be solid surface like quartz or stone slabs.
Could I tear out my existing drywall and put 1/2 plywood up? Then put the panels over it. How could I do that without making it look messy? I do want to see any seams.
Not necessary to take out the drywall, Find the studs and screw to them. I think the seam problem was exclusive to the batch of panels that I got. I would talk to the salesperson and hold them to their word regarding the seams.
Yes, I got it from this place, www.rosebrand.com/subcategory247/vacuform-scenic-panels.aspx but other vendors sell it. Google "vacuum formed PVC brick"
Good questions you should be able to find out herewww.barrondesigns.com/old-chicago-brick-wall-panel/ Since I did this video I think there are ammore options so do some more research .
what is the specific style/model name for the second panel sample you held up that looked like a white wash brick with grey grout at the 1:23 mark? Can't find that style anywhere on the faux panels website..
Hi, I looked for a company called Faux Panels... only Barrons come in a search. Would it be that the product is called faux panels but the store/company has a different name? Or can you add links to the places where we can find the panels?
This video was super useful 😊😊 I couldn’t get over the fact that you sound like trump and kinda look like what he could’ve looked like if he took care of himself 😂😂 have a good day!!
A good adhesive will hold the trick is holding it in place until it dries. A more sure way would be to first screw 3/4” x 4” strips of wood strips to the concrete about every 16” and then attach the faux brick to the strips. Get it?
wow I was looking for somehow to hide my apartment walls because they are brick walls but I found out there are people trying to make their walls look like if they were in bricks
