Recently finished my $160 build It's an HP Compaq 6300 SFF i5 3470 2x4GB DDR3 1600MHZ MSI RX 460 2GB LP KINGSTON SSD (240GB) I really like how small it is, it'll be perfect for me because I only do school and light gaming (Mostly Valorant)
Nice! Thats what I love to hear. Its awesome that you can build something that suits your needs for only $160. Where did you pick up the low profile card? I rarely see them at a good price
Nice video man and nice little Pc you put together. I guess in UK money that’s about £120/£130 🤩 I’m still surprised by the little i5 2400 it just doesn’t want to die even in 2022 as long as you take in mind it’s limitations. Those OEM cards have been a good option as well during the pandemic. It’s all about getting online and having fun and I think for $160 you’d struggle to do better! All the parts where readily available as well which was nice to see. I’ve no idea why Fortnite stutters but seams to smooth out after a few games, I guess it’s loading stuff/map/textures in 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks man! Yeah I'm always a little surprised when I test out these older i5s. Out of curiosity are you able to get these OEM RX 460s in the UK as as well? Your idea about the Fortnite issues definitely makes sense to me. I'll have to do some digging and see what I can find out.
i have the same pc for my home theater/retro gaming pc. mine came with the i5-2400, 2 x 4gb ram but no drives or gpu. i added a 240 gb ssd, 3 tb hdd and an old r7 200 gpu i had laying around. been running for a few years and just upgraded the gpu to a 1050 ti oc the other day.
Hi, I'm thinking about doing a similar build but with an i5 3470 and gtx1050ti with 16 GB of RAM do you think I'd get pretty good FPS in Fortnite and Warzone
Hmm, I tried doing a build like this last year except I used a dell optiplex instead of an hp. It worked for a couple weeks until it wouldn’t power back on again with the card installed. I’ve found out that the rx 460 isn’t compatible with the motherboard of the optiplex. Is there an nvidia equivalent card that could work for around the same price and performance?
Interesting, I have used this card in a Dell Optiplex as well, but never ran into any issues. What Model of Dell OptiPlex were you using? From my experience finding Nvidia GPUs as readily available for the price is a bit more difficult, but something like a gtx 950 or gtx 1050 you might be able to snag for similar price especially if GPU prices keep coming down.
@@redhawk97 Interesting I wouldn't expect that model to have issues. Did you get any bios error messages or anything? Or it just wouldn't turn on and that was it?
@@BennyTech nope no errors. The pc and card fans would start spinning but there would just be no display. I tested the monitor and it wasn’t the issue.
