I had weird problems with this 6200 pro mt, fo GT 610 is working GT 520 working also geforce 8800 is working and gts 250, but gtx 650 not working, but 650 working in another build without any problems, on 6200pro i just got no signal.

You have to install unbuffed non-ecc memory sticks in order for your computer to detect the upgraded ram.

I mean, we all know we can't just buy a 2020 high end graphics card, slap it in and expect it to work so I'd like to know which procedures or heads up you can give us to know which GPU and RAM would work with this system or any other given one. Computers are usually locked within their time period, the best upgrade is more ram and a SSD for older systems, if you're going to use these to game, you will need a Low Profile (LP) *a card that does not require any extra power cables.* "Upgrades" will need further research. For instance, if you had a 3rd generation Intel i3 CPU, you'd upgrade to a 3rd generation Intel i5 or i7 counterpart, (*non-"k" variants and only the specific chip that came with the higher tier options supported by higher trims of the office desktop* -especially if they're old office computers, these are limited in some aspects like gpu power supply and PCIE expansion capabilities (for those of you who use lots of expansion cards.) If you want more ram, make sure to get the correct type (DDR3, DDR4 etc.) And an SSD that is supported by 6G/S, or 3G/S respective to your motherboard specifications.

Question, what is the least expensive graphics card I can run that will allow me to use two screens on windows 10 pro. HP Compaq 6200 micro tower is what I'm using. It is just a work computer and will be using the second screen to show clients parts and pricing, so literally the least expensive card that will allow me to do that will be just fine.

Jake is it the stock psu? If so it prolly wont have VGA psu connectors. Unless your gpu doesnt need the VGA connectors. Low power drawing cards like the gtx1030 wont have a place to plug the VGA connectors into because the PCI slot alone is enough to power the card. Message me if you have more questions.

Hey MXKDI will a 1050 TI low profile fit in the 6200 SFF? **Update** I was doing research on the 6200 SFF and it does not support a Secure Boot State in it's bios. So that leaves alot of cards in compatable with it. I'll probably go for a 7010 sff you can install a 1050 ti in those np.

to everyone watching this video, it is worth mentioning the PCIE 2.0 x16 slot runs at x4 mode. However, from my experiences and benchmarks I've seen around the net, I can assure everybody that at least with these lower end GPUs that the dip in performance is negligible. Like, 5% to 10% dip.

Any idea how I could do the same thing without upgrading the supposedly impossible to upgrade PSU? If not, are you positive that replacing the PSU is actually impossible?

no, because the stock psu uses a proprietary connector, and a standard ATX psu might not fit in the case

The prebuilt power supply is 320W. If you're using like the 1050ti, it's appropriate for it. I'd recommend a rx 570 though

Even if you had a 1000w it will work... It's not like your motherboard will burn because of a more powerful PSU. That is the rating of the PSU and also if a PSU is 1000watts, it has a percentage of lost power, because it can't be 100% efficient, that means if it is 80 percent efficient, you will have raw 800watts of power for components. From there you can calculate, for example I have a system with an i5 processor drawing 120 watts, GPU drawing 180 watts, HDD and other things, I would need at least 500 watts PSU. On my PC I have 1080ti GPU (260 watts beast), so I reassured with a 700 watts PSU.

It's 7 years old, so no NVMe or M.2. It will have a pcie slot however.

It would but the mobo bottlenecks it because the maximum output of the mobo in pcie is 75watts The graphics card cant get to its full potencial. I use a msi gtx 1050ti it only takes watts from the mobo and needs no power supply connection, and can use it to its full potencial

Hey Mx! me again... I dont know what to do man, my system is not detecting the 1650 oc. Is there any trick to have my computer detect the GPU and install the drivers? I remember you told me it had to be low profile, but got a very good deal on a zotac 1650 oc mini and had to take it, cause the power and dimensions of the card were good enough to fit in my case... What I dont know now is whether you told me to buy specifically that msi 1650 oc lp because you knew this one was going to work for sure, to avoid this mess I am in now... could you please help me man? is there a way to make the damned card to work other than returning it and buying the MSI 1650 oc lp instead? thx man

Here is all I have tried so far: Disable Driver Signature Enforcement [bcdedit /set pciexpress forcedisable] in cmd Followed instructions in the following vid ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y_KHStpodLE.html to the letter and got gforce gtx 1650 current driver to install. After reboot, device manager shows gtx 1650 with the yellow sign /!\ and when clicking properties, it reads in [device status] "This device is not working properly cause Windows cannot load drivers required for this device (code 31) object name not found" Card is properly connected, fan running. When only display port connected display goes black. Clicking on Nvidia control panel dialog window appears saying "nvidia display settings not available / an nvidia graphics card was not detected in your system" my "system" is an old oem hp 6200 pro mt i5 2400 with zotac gtx 1650 oc and 16 gb RAM. Updated my BIOS to 2.28. Man I think you the only one who could help... thx a lot :)

@@mxkdt Nah man but I was thinking to upgrade the BIOS... by the way, which BIOS version are you using? 2.29? or did you update to the latest version, I think is 2.33? I did not update yet cause I've read in HPs support forum that upgrading beyond 2.28 makes some PCs take 3 minutes to load windows 10. Thanks anyway man!

Ram only works in pairs of same size. Unless you use a single chip by itself.

CH2O i've installed additional 2 pieces of 4Gbyte along with existing of 2 pieces of 2Gbyte RAM, the system recognize 12Gbytes total RAM.

CH2O the reason is to run in dual channel mode. If u left the one rogue stick in, yes you would have 12 gigs system memory, but it would run in single channel, quite a bit slower. So the benefit of running 8 GB in dual channel outweighs 12 gb total

My mistake, the case looks as if it'd fit a full-height card. The only thing you'd need to worry about is length of the card, and that the PSU will supply enough power.

Gtx 460 is the best price to performance card out rn. I got mine for $20 on ebay and it plays gta at smooth 60 fps no problem on normal to high settings at 10800
