I had previously drilled holes in my burn barrel with very limited results. I found this video and now my burn barrel is an absolute incinerator. Thanks for sharing,

People make things too complicated. Grab an axe lay the barrel on its side whack a few holes around the base for the air flow. Turn it upside down and whack a hole in the bottom for drainage. It's that simple!!!
@Mark Peterson I used "punch some holes in it"..... I made one like this some yaers ago..... night and day! If you want a barrel to keep you warm....this ain't the one. If you want a barrel that'll burn it up as fast as you can load it in.....this is the one!
So get an axe, make 6-8 holes in the bottom of a barrel. Each time u slice the barrel make a 30deg+/- turn on the axe handle to twist the hole. Do each in same direction. Dont use best axe u have, old axe.

right.. too complicated.. Another post simply said drill 10 -15 holes..3-4 on the bottom and the others around the sides..... just letting air in right??? Geesh
That's cool if your using the barrel to keep you warm.... But, your burning stuff to get rid of it....trash, wood, etc....this style is a true incinerator....burns super hot/fast!
