EXCELLENT! I just cooked this for 11 campers who would be on the river all day. I have a reputation for being a very capable camp cook but THIS one got me seriously rave reviews! Light and fluffy, filling and very flavorful. A very nice change from a traditional thick, heavy "egg bake" type breakfast. I used a combination of sausage, ham & bacon. Took about 25-30 minutes to cook in a standard 12" dutch oven. (an extra 5 minutes to really crisp up the top) Will DEFINITELY be making this recipe again (by crowd request). Next time I'm making two though!
I'm not sure what I find the most awesome about you Kent, and also Shannon... your incredible cooking, your support of the military and our veterans, or your love for God. I've long thought of myself as a chef, and maybe I am, but I couldn't hold a candle to you! I have found my home, even if I have to watch your cooking videos and be there in spirit. God bless you both richly!
I could watch your videos all day but I have to get some work done! I’m a British Army veteran of 22 years and I think it’s amazing how Americans regard there armed forces. Love your one pot cooking.
Grew up around men and women like you, my heart is bursting good Sir. Texas born and raised, your knowledge and vocabulary is recognized from a kindred spirit.
This just never gets old my Brother Kent, I’m cooking this coming weekend for my Men’s fellowship at our church... I’m Definitely gonna try this.. Love each and every video we do.. My Wife and I.. so as Christian Country Folk, we Thank y’all for sharing these videos!! Bless y’all my Friends!!!
Thanks to you and Shannon for sharing your time and talents. Appreciate your acknowledgment of our American heroes, both those serving and all who have served. Another great recipe to try out .
Cooking With Ry; Ain't that the truth! Whenever I get a notification of another Kent Rollins video, why my ol heart commences to do the happy dance. Thanks Kent, Shay and, the Beagle for another Award winning classic recipe. The wife and I appreciate ya'll very much. Adios amigos till next time. Stan
I sure do enjoy your videos. I found this one a week after Easter, I have never commented on a RU-vid video before, but Kent, your story touched my heart. As a Midwest farm boy I've had dreams of the cowboys ways, as a truck driver running all over out west I've gained a huge respect for the people who risked it all to settle such a rugged land. Your videos get my mind drifting off to that time in life. God bless you and Shan, keep up the good work!!
I eco your appreciation for our Men and Women veterans and those who serve in our military today. I happened by your videos by accident. I'm glad I did your videos are great!
I made this camping this weekend! It was so good! People were coming over from other camp sites to see what smelled so good. Thank you for this recipe! Will definitely be making it many times again
Hi Kent and Shannon, I been a fan for around 3 years now an try to never miss any of your YT vids. I own both your books, the original and mesquite seasonings and utensils and use them daily. The type of food you produce is the kind I like to eat. What I'm trying to say is thank you to you both and the rest for bringing such happiness to this old boy from the UK. Sending joy and blessings from us to you. Joe
1st time we tried your recipe. Did it in an oven with a cast iron. It came out so fluffy and moist. Looking forward to many more adventures with your recipes. God bless you and Shannon
Just came across your channel and subscribed. It’s refreshing to see someone doing these How To Cooking Videos actually taking the time to teach others and not just throwing some package product together and call it a day! This I appreciate!!! Side Note I cook almost exclusively with cast iron and some that are almost 50 years old. Love your maintenance videos on cast iron.
I just love hearing Kent talk. Reminds me of my grand dad, accent, funny little sayings, and just kind hearted. Love watching this guy cook, he just sounds genuine with everything he says, and he cooks some awesome stuff.
I finally obtained a chuck wagon style speckled double boiler, with a white lid. Rediculous amount of time I had to wait for one! Not giving up on my dream! God Bless! You have inspired me!
Thanks Kent! This is one of my favorite camp breakfasts! I'm making it this weekend at our Boy Scout campout just for the adult leaders! When the boys make their menu and it sounds like something they're going to screw up or not very appetizing I'll usually make something for the grown ups just in case! I've made it several times and it's always been a big hit! I appreciate all you do!
Just discovered your fantastic vids. Love your food & love your style. 60 years old and going to buy my first skillet . . gotta start somewhere. All the best from the UK 🇬🇧
Hey Kent, it just don’t get no better than this. By the time I finished fixin and cooking, I was famished and ready to eat me some,I was, when my grandkids showed up. They enjoyed it and I enjoyed my one bite, next time I’ll do me a double batch so I can get fuller than a tick on a hound dog’s ear! Thank you

Blessed by Kent Rollins with another fine breakfast/brunch dish. Man, that looked awesome Kent. You need to film Shannon tasting it too... we don't get to see enough of that sweet little Lady! God Bless you all.
@Cowboy Kent Rollins: Very American! You are cookin'/livin' the Dream!!! Often you do and say things that take me back to the late 50s. In Appalachia come winter after the tobacco crop was harvested and curing in the barns, the sorghum cane would be ground and boiled down- the horse would go round and round- the fiddles would play, singing, dancing and kids playing games! No one took a knee 🇺🇸 and life seemed simpler. You remind me of those days- I thank you for it. God bless America & God bless you!
Thank you both. We love you all your recipes. My son is in the army and when they go out in the field a lot of the guys beg my son to do the cooking. He has used many of your recipes. And the guys love it. They are so quick and easy. He loves to cook now. Can’t wait for him to come home to cook for me. Thanks again. ❤️❤️
This has got to be one of my favorites Have made a very similar fine dining culinary myself by using WAP-UMMM Biscuits in the bottom. Haven't used the gravy idea yet but I'm sure gonna do next time. Thanks again and may the Lord keep y'all safe.
This was my first recipe of yours that I tried. We were camping recently in 30 degree weather in Big Bend Ranch State Park. It fed 5 hungry 20ish year olds and my 60 year old butt with a hot, filling and FUN breakfast that made standing around the fire and watching that 12" oven on a cold morning a special time with my kids. Thanks for warming the hearts and bellies. Next time, I'm going to add some salsa to top it off... This IS Texas! ;-)
Kent Rollins making your bacon, Ham, egg, waffle bake for supper. I love this meal. It's one of my most favorite recipes to make at camp or home. Breakfast or supper. Never a complaint.
I learned by teachers in my highscool years; that you NEVER refer to a womans reproductive parts with that word! NEVER even let them hear you say cackleberry in reference to ovaries - no one helps you then, they just laugh and go about business. I was a kid from NYC trying to fit in Springdale, arkansas. 😓
This man reminds me of a leather worker I had kind of adopted as a grandfather. He taught me alot things during an unstable time of my life, although it's been years since I've seen him, I see a some of him in you Kent. Keep on cookin, Cowboy!
I’ve learned a lot from your videos Mr Kent not only your cooking outdoors which is the most interesting too me because I am a full time RVer and 73 years old! I inherited cast iron from my mother. Some I’ve restored using your methods, the Dutch oven has been my best cooked meals out in the “wild” as I boondock a lot. On my meager income I do substitute some ingredients, but follow your lead wherever possible. One other thing I love your American attitude and praise, my page reflects a lot “A Journey Into The Sun” god bless you sir for your patriotism to our flag and veterans! JDLEE 🇺🇸AMERICAN PATRIOT
Kent I want you to know I tried this recipe when I went camping roughing it in the woods just me and Mother Nature for an entire week nothing but my Cast Iron cooking utensils and I cooked everything on open flame these dishes are delicious keep these drink recipes are coming and God bless you
Thanks for always remembering our Veterans. " Go Navy" 15 years. This was my first time viewing your videos, everything looks so good. Now I have to go buy a Dutch oven. Thanks for your videos. God Bless
I have tried a few recipes from this channel and most came out really good, except the caveman steak I burn that one so bad even the dog didn't want it. This channel is the reason I got a cast iron skillet and all of their recipes work in them both at home and camping. Now I don't plan to get a burning hot box because I going get one as an in-law soon enough but the way you two show how to cook is perfect for camping and needs just a little twirl to cook in the kitchen. Look forward to more videos!
I am fixing this in the morning for my husband for Fathers Day.....inside.... I added a few frozen potatoes with onion and pepper and sliced precooked sausage links and used milk not cream, grated cheese on top....it was excellent....thank you sir.
I can’t get enough of the videos. Keep up the good work! Thanks for taking the time and putting in the effort to share your knowledge with us. I wish I could hit the trail with you. Stay safe.
Ken, I just made this, and WOW! You sure weren't kidding when you said that this is fine dining. I'm camped out at Green Swamp West here in central Florida. So far everything I've made has been from your recipes, except the pizza. Thanks! OH and hi Shannon. ☺
I want to come see you all, Shannon the Beag, and Duke!!! I have been watching you for many of months. Makes my heart so 😊 happy... FYI I made your Beef Stroganoff about a week ago. Had this dish for ny whole life .. Momma,Grandma... Although yours, was the absolute best thing ever!!!! My family ate it for three days, and then gave the rest to a family friends 💓 mom... Who could barely eat anything. Ad her dentures, health factors.. etc. But,she ate this, and loved it!!! Even more tender and melt in your mouth 👄. THANK YOU COWBOY KENT,AND SHAN. I LOVE Y'ALL SO MUCH 💗
I just revived your cookbook. you didn't warn me of the lack of sleep it will cause. aside from the wonderful recipe you have listed, I loved your stories so much I couldn't put the book down. I just love the old cowboy ways, and life style. I was reading the recipe for your meatballs. A thought for you to maybe try. I like to add mozzarella cheese to the mixture , the cheese makes the meatballs so moist. God bless, you and Thank you both for the great cookbook and stories. I hope some day to meet the both of you. Andrew Johansen
Amen and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! ❤❤❤to all our troops! I've made a mean breakfast pie for 20 plus yrs, but I've never thought of using frozen waffles for the base!!!🤔🤔🤔❤❤❤🤯🤯🤯 BRILLIANT SIR. AND DELISH
I’ve watched and used your wisdom of real home cooking. Grew up in Mississippi and most of my time was spent in the woods. Cooking has always been a favorite of mine. Still my in home on an oven sucks. But I can always build a fire. Thank you sir for sharing your expertise always enjoy your videos
I made this in my dutch oven, in my stove in the kitchen, on Fathers Day morning. It was fantastic and a big hit. Thank you both for what you do. I love to watch and learn from you.
What a great recipe! I made this for new years day breakfast with some Texas toast on the side and man it's amazing. Thanks for all the recipes and the good hearted entertainment Kent. A happy new year to you, Shan, and the beagle!
I'm from North Carolina and while I enjoy cooking, especially Southern cooking, your channel is my favorite on RU-vid. When you whip out that dutch oven, I know some goodness is going to be happening!
It turned out great! My kids are spoiled with this recipe! Did it in the camper...and as a 21 year veteran..thank you! Keep up the great work! We love you and Shannon!
“Cow peein off a 40’ bluff” hahaha!! Love this channel! Damn near tried to smell the screen when u took the lid off when it was done! Tryin that one definitely! Great job again Kent!
This fellas videos has been popping up in my feed left and right... but now he’s talking breakfast the best meal of anytime. So here I am. Got me! Subbed! Hahahahahaha as I watch the video I love this man. He talks so smooth and when he warns you to wait and let it cool down he puts lava into his own mouth. Happy I gave this a chance. I feel I’ll learn a ton of good ideas and recipes because I’m getting into cast iron.
Kent&Shannon I enjoy your channel a lot most it so nice to see A happy couple I also Would like to say MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY 🌲🌲🐾⛄🌲
I tried this wonderful receipt this morning for our Band of Brothers at the 1st Baptist Church in McPherson Kansas and all the guys really liked it. I made 2 dutch ovens and had some left over to bring home . we also had some hummy deserts made in dutch ovens.
Worked for years as a cook at a summer camp in Montana, serving three a day for 250+. Little old fella from Arkansas came up and volunteered to do our breakfasts for a couple of summers and brought this way of doing breakfast casseroles with him. Works really well for big groups, works with leftovers of all kinds, extra biscuits or hash browns or whatever ya got.. Thanks for the injection of Southern cookin', Kent, and for any Northern recipe doubters... Lemme just say that a white (preferably sausage) gravy covers over a multitude of sins.
I've been marathoning your videos. These recipes are so easy and simple. Since I'm a easy and simple guy it works. I love your personality and atmosphere. It's like having a buddy talking to me.
Tried with bacon and sausage here in the back yard. Turned out great! Keep the videos coming, I find them very informative. Thank you from West Virginia.
