Instant Pot high pressure for 5 min, then let it slow release - Throw the rice in with shredded carrots, spinach, bell peppers, salt, butter (if you want, I don't), and vegetable broth or chicken broth. Quick, easy, and tasty.
I’ve watched a lot of Matt’s videos and even purchased his nutrition manual. This video and especially a day in the life of chef Wenning helped things to click better than any of that. Great info! Thanks!
I'd also throw in a potato or two a day for the potassium. The vertical diet really is an efficient diet and super easy to meal prep for. Just bulk cook your rice, meats and potatoes and your good to go for most meals.
Matt wenning talks about nutrition and training and recovery so naturally, hes clearly an intellect and yet he asks if he wrote iodine correctly. Funny guy lol
Scallops! Love it. Rarely hear about seafood in strength sport circles. Always wondered why. Sure, a lot of it isn't cheap. But there's also people spending $10+ per pound of whatever cut of steak, and doing that several times per day.
Love your videos....I bought the vertical diet book...I was eating low card lost 38 lbs, now I added some of stand stuff in my diet and feel better..also eating more steak weekly..Feel good....
Matt the iodine deficiency part sold me brother. Im visiting ur patreon page today and becoming a member! Enough fuckin around for me. Time to get all the way serious💪🏽
i have a weirdly bad touch for cooking. i use the best ingredients like you do but my cooking is just sad to look at. but the important thing is how it makes you feel. my food is not delicious, but i'm very good at making food that doesn't make you feel like crap afterwards.
Loui said matt son if you can get your weight another 40lbs i think we can set a new world record, we can worrry about the blood pressure problem after the meet
I think some of these guidelines that get made for the general public are actually dangerous for active/clean eating people such the "avoiding salt " edict. Low electrolytes are no joke. I am speaking from experience.
Quote from HealthLine: "People who tend to form kidney stones may benefit from a low-oxalate diet. However, healthy people trying to stay healthy do NOT need to avoid nutrient-dense foods just because they are high in oxalates. It is simply not a nutrient of concern for most people." Don't go around fear-mongering comments about spinach when it's not needed.
It is known for that but cooking it greatly reduces the amount of oxalic acid:) www.wenningstrength.com/collections/manuals www.wenningstrength.com/collections/equipment www.wenningstrength.com/pages/online-coaching
As a Filipino, you’re killin’ me with butter and salt on rice lol. Just put that stuff on your beef instead. Rice is just there to cut the richness of the protein you’re eating. Aside from that, love the content. Lol
I'm going to ask a naive question in my opinion. I want to maintain my body weight but i want to lose the fat and the water in my lower abdomen area.I don't eat a clean diet most of my life.If i switch my dirty carbs to clean ones but maintain the same caloric intake,is it inevitable that i will lose weight or is there a way to keep the same body weight by doing this?
Going to be hard to lose fat from one area but there are some ways to "kind of" burn stubborn bodyfat. Fasted cardio will increase both fat lipolysis (breakdown) and fat oxidation (burning). Also, blood flow tends to be lower in stubborn bodyfat areas. Studies show that fasted training increases blood flow in the abdominal region. Although being in a calorie deficit matters the most, the type of carbohydrates (lower glycemic and/or resistance starches) are very important as well. For one, they will provide waaaay more nutrients which will result in much better recovery and satiety. www.wenningstrength.com/collections/manuals www.wenningstrength.com/collections/equipment www.wenningstrength.com/pages/online-coaching
White rice digest much, much faster and is more easily digested and assimilated as well. More nutrients in a potato for sure, but Matt has that covered with the added butter, bell peppers and salt:) www.wenningstrength.com/collections/manuals www.wenningstrength.com/collections/equipment www.wenningstrength.com/pages/online-coaching
@@WenningStrength go read PubMed past 2004. I dont get how its possible people still dont understand this concept. Remember learning thermodynamics in Chemistry?
Ray Peat has some great stuff but man, some of his methods are out there. www.wenningstrength.com/collections/manuals www.wenningstrength.com/collections/equipment www.wenningstrength.com/pages/online-coaching
