Wendy, my nana and mom used to make this, but only one thick layer of the coconut cream and one thick layer of the agar agar, funnily enough I was thinking of making some the other day xx
I make this often at home and it’s super yummy ..I don’t use cardamom instead I use two small pieces of pandan leaves ..Pandan leaves are originally used in this thai dessert.. Next time I’ll try adding cardamom 👏

Thank you for your well explained receipe. Can coconut nilk powder be used by dissikving in water. Can king coconut water be used instead of coconut water. Both are almost the same only 2 different types of coconut trees.

You could do that. You will need to replace agar agar with three time the quantity of gelatine . Besides gelatine takes longer to set so you will need to check if each layer has set before pouring on the next layer. Also gelatine does not set outside the refrigerator so you will not need to keep the two mixtures on simmer. Hope I have been able to help. Enjoy!
During the description wendy says that she uses white vanilla essence & then she says it's vanilla extract. Can someone please let me know if they are the same? Because i've never heard of vanilla "essence" before & I've never come across white vanilla extract. T.I.A
Vanilla essence is an artificial flavouring while Vanilla extract t is made by soaking vanilla beans in an alcohol solution to “extract” . I hope that helps

Cecilia, you could just make it only one layer with coconut milk. Or you could make it with water and put some coconut flakes in it for added texture 😋😋Enjoy!
I put sugared violets and sugared lemon rind curls on mine and ground pistachios with cardamom I also sprinkled nasturtium and pansy petals under the gelatine first. It was exotic and delicious and everyone thought it was ordered from a hotel pastry department.
What is the strength of agar agar that is used in this recipe? Since it exist in various strengths levels and on that depends a lot the cuantity one should use
ah.. its a pitty. Because there are diferent strenght of Agar Agar, starting I think from strenght of 500 which is the lowest to 1100. Abd Obviously the quantity one nede to use depends from the strength of agar agar one has@@PlatinItWithWendy
Lovely dessert , but when you put it back to simmer while the dish is being put in the fridge, when do you take it off the heat and how cool/ warm does it have to be before you pour the heated liquid on the next layer?
