welcome back :)
Today im showing you my version of a starburst, which I call a flower burst.
I talk you through the pattern, then crocheting everything together.
you will need:
cotton - 6x50g ( 3 different colours+ a boarder colour)
Time stamps :
0:30 - materials you’ll need
1:08- how to make the flower burst
9:48- how to make the triangles for the back pannel
14:47- the cups
16:17- how to crochet your flower bursts together
27:02 - back pannel
28:02 - crochet the front and back pannels together
33:33- joining the cups to the body piece
37:32- straps

Thanks for sharing this video but music is too loud and overshadowed your voice for most of the video because the music goes on through the entire length of the video. It's annoying because we're trying to hear you; as a newbie trying to figure out how to work this crochet method, it's super distracting.

Hi! At 'bout 35:34 did you make a dc( or sc?) into the chain spaces(from the squres, where they are attachesld) and didn't make slip stitch into the other squre, right? So there won't be a little hole, that's the reason why, isn't it? I hope it makes sense, and thank you for the pattern of this beautiful dress!❤

How big is the actual square so that I get the same size as you - my daughter is probably the same size as you but my squares look smaller than yours (I'd go up or down a hook size accordingly)? Ty

Is there a way to do this without switching colours? I want to do one solid colour. Instead of attaching the yarn each row could I just continue around by slip-stitching closed and then do a starting chain on the next row? Is there a way to do the first puff stitch with a starting chain? Thank you! Gorgeous dress!

Hi, just makr each pannel wider by adding more squares. For example for the front pannel made it 6 or 7 rows wide ( whichever is most suited to you) & for the back make it 4 or 5 rows wide. & for the cups just add an extra row of each colour. I hope this helps Xx

Hi, If I were you I think I’d make it not snug and fitting. If you you look at the tutorial I made on the other dress that I did - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H9dr8zqWzzo.htmlsi=D9HdKzfih9ITg4CE I would approach it like this. So you’d make the cups and all the squares you need + 4 half squares.

the yarn also is 2.5mm? or do you use a 4mm yarn with 2.5 hook size?

I don't know the size of the yarn. I know that the weight is dk light worsted. I love a 2.5mm hook ((which is small than the recommended size on the label. in saying so I do have a loose-ish tension)

What to do if im an L? Is it okay to start with 6 squares (instead of 5 like you did) or will it ruin the process later on?

I prefer a smaller needle. I find it’s quicker for some reason in saying this I do have quite a loose tension. I’m moving to the UK in February 🤩

Sorry… I did this because we would be here for 10+ hours if I were to film the entire dress. I thought by explaining the techniques that I used, people would be able use them and then create their own dresses to suit them as not everyone has the same measurements as the dress I made in the tutorial. Hope you understand Xx
