Saw this shaw in my crochet now magazine! I'm more of a visual learner. So finding a demo is so helpful!!! I can't wait for my yarn to come in the mail to make this for a gift 😄 thank you !!
Hey! I love all your videos so much and you’re the only creator I understand when it comes to crocheting. Could you please make a tutorial for a crochet bucket hat? 💗
Thank you very much Sarah Jane. This is an Amazing shawl and your tutorial is so easy to follow to crotchet. This will be my 1st Shawl that I have done. I have only ever crocheted blankets. Watching from Australia.
I just made the shawl it's awesome. I added a border to mind. I also like makeing blankets like you do. There is a mood blanket some were in her videos that's really cool to make.
After 40 years of not holding a crocket hook, I've started the shawl using Lion's Brand Mandala 100% Acrylic. So glad to have this visual step by step to go along with the pdf pattern because I'm not much good at following the pattern without the visual. Hopefully it will turn out acceptable for wearing. It's just a practice piece, but would like to make another for gifting.
Hii! I really enjoy your tutorials! I was wondering how you’d a ‘(3dc, 2dc in next)’ However, in the round before, there’s 20 sts and now there’s 25 sts. Hope you can help! xx
Hi. I have scrolled back through 8years of your videos but can’t find it. Might have missed it. But have you done a headband tutorial with a hair bobble
Wow I cant believe how many questions everyone asks. Im not sure how Sarah Jane can answer you all. I was reading comments looking for inspiration and all I was seeing can you help do this, how much do I need of this, will you make a video on this. I did see one girl says she going to make a hair bandana from this pattern. I might try and make one to.
Everyone else is like "ahhhh, this is so easy" and I'm trying not to scream and cry in frustration because I cannot follow this video at all 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. I can't follow any of them. I cannot make a shawl at all, no matter how easy the tutorial 😢
I get you, I felt like that for a long time. (And with some videoes I still do). For me it helps looking at a written pattern also. I know this one costs money but if you feel like it, it might help.
I've used 10 50g balls in total, but you would need to compare the substitute yarn to the yardage. All of the yarn details are in this post: blog.bellacococrochet.com/romany-crochet-shawl/
Hi, I’m a newbie with you and a beginner at crochet. I love this shawl but was wondering if it could be made just in the first 3/4 rows, meaning all granny stitches? As a first shawl I need to get used to one stitch first and think all those other rows would confuse me. If not could you suggest a shawl with just granny stitches please. I shall be using one colour. Thank you.
Yes you can; I have a video tutorial showing how to make a plain granny triangle scarf/shawl here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T_EHSvcWblQ.html 😊
Be aware, if you prefer reading a pattern, the blog doesn't show rows 1-30 unless you subscribe. It's still free with ads, but the requirement is subscription...also when on the website on the phone the handicap icon can get in the way of scrolling.
This pattern is worked using aran weight wool so you’ll need the number of balls as stated 😊 If you want to substitute to a different yarn it’s important to check the total yardage needed to make sure you have enough.
Yes you can, although that yarn is 4 ply so your shawl will work up a bit smaller (you can work extra repeats to increase the size) ps - your spelling looked perfect to me 😊
Você sabia que pode ativar as legendas clicando no ícone “CC” na parte inferior do vídeo. Em seguida, clique no ícone de configurações, escolha as legendas, clique em tradução automática e escolha o idioma desejado :)
You should find this works up as a triangle shape with straight sides; I would make sure you’re working the beginning and end of the rows correctly but blocking should also help 😊
I think 8 ply would be closest but you can use any yarn that you want, as long as you adjust your hook size accordingly 😊 If your yarn is thinner you may want to work some extra repeats so the shawl works up to the same size.
I hope this helps - Historically, the UK worsted weight yarn equivalent has been aran. Some serious yarn enthusiasts will tell you that these terms aren't precisely interchangeable. That's because traditionally, worsted and aran yarns were spun differently. As a result, true aran yarn has more loft and a bouncier feel than worsted. However, most modern knitting companies don't differentiate between the two. Aran yarn is also known as 10 ply yarn. It's important to note that in Australia, 10 ply yarn is commonly referred to as the equivalent of worsted weight yarn. So, if you're working on a pattern from Down Under and uncertain about which yarn to use, remember that 10 ply yarn is what you'll need :)
