Easy Crochet Skirt tutorial

Easy crochet skirt tutorials are a great way to learn how to crochet a skirt.
Here is my video crochet tutorial for my Granny Stripe Skirt.
This is the right handed version.

You will need worsted weight (4) yarn and a 5mm crochet hook.
You can start by crocheting a chain that fits comfortably around your hips. I am making the XL. For the other sizes you can see below for reference
I don't have the pattern published yet but here are the recommended chains for the different sized if you want to try them out.
Sizes: - XS, Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X
XS - Hips 33-34
SM - hips 35-36
M - hips 38-40
LG - hips 42-44
XL - hips 45-46
2/3X - hips 47-51
4-5X - hips 52-56
Start with black
Ch 105, (109, 113, 117, 125, 131, 135 ) and join with a sl st to the first chain to from a ring.
Then follow the steps in the video.
Continue in the granny stripe rows until it is the length you want.
Here are the recommended lengths for the upcoming pattern, but you really should customize it to the length you want.
For the small size make 27 granny stitch rows.
Finishing round. Ch1, hdc into each st around.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
For the Medium size make 28 granny stitch rows.
Finishing round. Ch1, hdc into each st around.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
For the Large size make 29 granny stitch rows.
Finishing round. Ch1, hdc into each st around.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
For XL make 30 granny stitch rows.
Finishing round. Ch1, hdc into each st around.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
For 2-5X make 31 granny stripe rows.
Finishing round. Ch1, hdc into each st around.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
This skirt can be customized to your style preference, just make less granny stripe rows for a shorter skirt, or more for a longer skirt.
Belt
Crochet Option
To make a crochet belt Ch, 140 for XS, small, medium, ch150 for large, ch160 for extra-large., ch180 for 2X/3X and ch190 for 4X-5X.
Sl st down the chain to create a more substantial belt.
For an even wider belt you can single crochet down the chain.
Weave in all the ends.
Weave the belt into the second row down from the top of your skirt. Start and the centre front and go under two dc stitches and then over two dc stitches until you are back at the front of your skirt.

Looks nice can you do skip 1 between clusters to make holes smaller I make it into long skirt

If you do that you’ll end up with too many stitches. When you skip 2 and work into the next stitch ( the 3rd st) you replace those 3 stitches with the 3dc cluster. If you skip 1 st and work 3dc into the next st (the 2nd st) you’re increasing by 1 each time you do that. I hope that makes sense. If you skip one you could only make a 2 double crochet cluster. That would work. It wouldn’t look the same though. But it would look nice. You’d essentially be making a v stitch.
