Ingenious, plain and simple! My friend was flipping out over her phone not charging and after she, and everyone around her, had exhausted themselves of all ideas on how to fix it, I came in and saved the day (thanks to you!) Now, when St Peter is reviewing my life's worth at the pearly gates, I'll get one point to the good! Phew

I'm having this problem with my old iPhone 8 so I'll give this a try. I recently went ahead and bought a cheap wireless charging pad on Amazon and completely bypass the lightning port. That works too. Thanks, great video!

Hi Lech. Great video. Very helpful. I like how you walked through the various issues that can make the lightning cable get loose. I use my phone a lot in my car with Apple Car Play. Now I know why I am having connectivity issues. I've tried changing the ligtning to USA cable but that wasn't the issue. I will use the toothpick technique next. If that doesn't work, I'll do the electrical tape method. I'm confident that will fix it. Thank you again for posting this. You're the man!

Hey man, I completely destroyed my lighting port using a toothpick. The local repair shop said I’d have to get a new board or something that would be like getting a new phone. Any thoughts?

Really? If port damaged. That can be replaced. I haven’t done it yet but seen videos out there on how to replace the charging port. If you can’t do it try another shop. Sounds like they are trying to get paid.

Can I put the tape on the charger instead?

The cable ? You can try. But probably won’t stay on long. Just make sure to plug in in correct side. So you don’t put tape side onto the connector prongs in phone. Inside phone is better
