I always learn new things in your video. I was taught to always add 0.5 cm to point B to get point F. Now, I have learned 6 cm is constant for all sizes. Welldone! Thank you!
You’re welcome! It may not have been wrong . Pattern making can over time be adapted to one’s preferences as you learn more. So you can choose what best works . 😊
Thank you for the turtorial ma'am My bodice front armhole is 11" while the back is 10" so there were excesses after drafting the sleeve using this tutorial How do i go about fixing it?
@@mercyadamsinseams thank you so much. God bless you for the tutorials. They've been helpful and the fact that your thumbnail shows your original creations is superb and not misleading.
Dear mercy, God bless you. 1• Please I always have more excess on my back sleeve compared to the front (eg B 2.3 & F0.9 or 1.2) . How do I deal with this please? 2• My Top arm is 36cm. Do I add 5cm to my TA or do I do 6cm as the chart says? Thank you.
5 or 6cm works, the excess on the sleeve is mostly used to set in the sleeves around the crown. But if it’s too much, you can move the underarm point of the sleeve to higher up to reduce the ease or excess
Good day ma’am,please While checking the chart for the sleeve. Are we to add the Top arm + 5cm to check for the crown depth,or we use our original top arm measurement to check it. Secondly:you said to confirm the armhole size ,the circumference must be top arm +12/13 cm. My question is ,is it the original top arm + 12/13cm? Or we are using the one we add 5cm to ?
Hi, the top arm measurement determines the part of the proportion to use. The Top arm + 5cm just lets you know what the sleeve size is. For the second question.. please leave a time stamp so I can best answer.
I don’t know what time stamp means lol For the second question? To know whether I am going to lengthen or shorten my armhole circumference,am I suppose to add the 5cm to my top arm measurement before adding the standard 12/13cm or I am using my original top arm +12/13cm to confirm.?
@akinsurojuadesola9636 if you have a specific question on a certain part of the video you want clarification on, just note the exact time on the video and share, that way I can watch the exact part and best answer your question Also, I never mentioned adding 12-13 cm to a top arm measurement in any part of the video
Hmmn. This hasn’t happened yet, first make sure you are using the right proportion. And using a basic block that matches the sleeve size as well. This Is what I do and I haven’t had such issues.
After measuring the armhole measurement on the bodice,is the result a determinant of any thing used in the sleeve Chart? I saw that the top arm measurement was what was used to determine the width of the sleeve.Does using the top arm measurement automatically makes the sleeve fit in the armhole circumference we measured? I would appreciate your response ma 🙏
You’re welcome . Usually, the ease isn’t the same as a seam allowance( but it can be used as a seam if you prefer a tight fitting garment) First compare the armhole of the basic bodice to that of the sleeve crown, this way you can best determine if it needs more seam or not . I hope this helps ..
