This series is so fun. I'm committed to following along and recreating each look the following day. A great way to revisit old favorites and remember that sometimes simple is better! Today I did my one shade look with Wet N Wild Nutty -- an oldie but goodie!
This is the most practical and user friendly series I've seen yet, please do this at least quarterly...please!! especially with different high end and low end brands and mediums of shadows... great idea Emily! 👍
Why the hell does Emily not have 3 million followers or something crazy like that!!!!!! She's the best of the best and is so extremely knowledgeable!!!!!!!!!!
I think we tend to feel we have to have six shadow shades, two eyeliners, false lashes and a separate inner corner highlight to really look " polished" or complete. This is such a welcome reminder that we DONT and that one or two shades applied just right make for a very pretty and complete look. Thanks Emily. BTW-your little peanut looked so cute for Easter!
Yes! And as someone with watery eyes that almost ruins one part of my makeup or the other (typically eyeliner...) I always pass on not putting shadow on my lower line - it never works out. Seeing fresh/polished looks like this make me feel better about how I apply my makeup and my makeup choices.
I love the complicated looks but for everyday these kinds are best. I got sucked into the transition, crease, outer v, lid, inner corner, brow bone, liquid liner, waterline, mascara, lash thing. It was becoming a job and taking the fun out of it. Make up is not a job. lol simple eyes and a bright swipe of lipstick is just as beautiful. Save the big guns for special occasions or when you feel like it.
+Jessica Wingate Me too!! Literally started to hate putting on makeup when it used to be so fun. Going back to this and saving the full on looks for when I'm in the mood etc
What a great idea for a series! By far one of the most inventive and non-pretentious you tubers out there. I've been watching your videos for many years Emily, and congrats on how your channel has grown!
Emily- I would love for you to do a series about choosing colors that compliment individual eye colors, skin tones, hair colors & how you go about choosing shadow, blush & lip products that create a harmonious look.
Really loving this series so far, especially the part at the end where you show the different variations this look can have. As someone who's new to the makeup game, your videos are some of the best I've seen. Thank you for having such helpful content :)
Emily, I love you because you are so detailed and thorough with reviews and are a wonderful teacher. I also love you because of your humor and the little things you do. "here's where we sandwich!!" you got so excited I love it lol!!
Emily, this look is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! This is exactly what I want to achieve on most days with my makeup: looking bright-eyed and well rested. I also like the ease and speed at which you created this look. It's a HUGE plus for the early morning rush! Thanks!
I'm loving this series! I'm the kind of person who always feels like if I'm going to do my makeup I either go all out or don't do anything at all. So this definitely gives me inspiration on how I can do simpler look. 😊
THANK YOU!! As someone who has a very small lid space and can't put more than one color in my crease I really appreciate having tutorials I can actually recreate without extracting anything from the overall finished look.
You are just brilliant!!! Thank you for reminding us we don't have to have 9 different palettes and a dozen eye products to make a gorgeous look!!! You're the best!!!
I am loving these series. Please do videos like this. Emily I have learned so much from you over the last few years! You've helped me step up my makeup game so much!
Emily being a recent makeup addict I love all your videos, tutorials and reviews. I make purchase only after watching your reviews. only thing missing was these simple eye makeup. I am very grateful for you starting this new one week eye make up tutorial. Totally loving it. Thank You again
I LOVE this method. It's so easy , and it works on every eye shape and color. It's a great reminder that we don't need to used 15 shadows to create a flattering and beautiful look.
Maybe you can do this series again at some point just using one palette the entire week - that way people who dont have an entire collection can get serious use of what they have 😊 love what you do em!
Thank you for this series! Eyes are something I struggle with, so I love all eye tutorials, and these are simple enough that I can actually "get" them!
Hey Emily! I've been enjoying your videos for years and years (even before the sandwich method video!) and I have to say that even though your videos are always incredibly informative, the way you've been showing how to tweak a look is absolutely flawless. I know it takes more shooting and editing time, but it is so valuable to see those small changes that make a big impact. It's a far more comprehensive makeup education than the all - too - common 'buy this and use it exactly this way' videos.
thank you for reminding us that looking bright, awake, and polished can be done super quickly and easily. i totally sent these videos to my beginner friends! i love how you always think about the average woman and what her needs are =) also this look is super cute and i will pull out my old duos and for sure be doing this tmrw
wow last week you were at 7xxxxx. I was checking everytime and it took soooooo long to reach the 800K and now one moment I didn't check and you hit 800K in a sec!!! Congratulations Emily! Hope you reach one million soon!!!!
I love this getting back to basics series. It's awesome and a great reminder of how to do simple and easy eye looks. I've gotten caught up in doing extreme eye looks all the time. Thanks Emily!
Hi Emily, thanks for this series. sometimes you just want a look that does not take a lot of steps and sometimes you want to learn how look to build on what you learned. I look forward to every video.
The sandwich thing makes it easier to remember, and to have a clear idea ready to go. Also I like that you explain light variations to explore. Thumbs up to these series ;)
I kind of needed this week to get back to basics because my make-up routine is no longer fitting into my schedule and it's kind of getting away from me. Thanks, Emily!
This series is fantastic!! Especially looks without liner and lashes, which is more "me". Can't seem to pull off much drama around my eyes. Thank you! I have shared your videos with so many friends; in fact, you were the very first makeup video I subscribed to. 😊
This series is such a great idea. Never heard of the sandwich technique. I'm glad you are doing more tutorials besides the reviews. I really need makeup tips and I love how you explain stuff and that you use down to Earth products.
I love this series! I love when you laugh at yourself sometimes, would love to eventually see a "bloopers video" from you! just for giggles of course🤗😊
I think anyone who's just starting to wear makeup should watch these videos, you're so helpful and you explain things very clearly. :) you're definitely my favorite beauty RU-vidr. Love you Emily!
+Agnes D'Cafango Thank you so very much, Agnes! My hope was that someone who had little to no experience with makeup might be able to benefit from this series! :) Love you!
You are amazing!! You're always on top of the game with new videos and not doing what everyone else is doing!! Also I love how you are always so honest about products!!!
You have some of the most unique & clever video ideas. I love this series & the look you got out that little duo, awesome. I look forward to your next video . Thanks Emily!
A few days ago I was watching your one-shadow look from forever ago (for inspiration) and when I saw you start this series--I thought you read my mind!
I LOVE this series!!!! Such a great idea for some quick and simple makeup inspiration when I don't have the time to go full glam. Thanks! You are amazing
Love this new series. Think I need to get this duo. Tired eye (two young kids) is a daily thing for me. Not being able to have as much time to get ready, this will make my life easier)
I'm loving this series!!! thank you so much for bringing back the basics!! I did the one eye shadow look today and had extra time to actually enjoy my coffee before going to work. usally I drink it the car. I didn't realize how long eyeshadow was taking me to apply.
Totes my favorite series right now. I love the channel, and look to you for like all of my makeup questions! Can't wait to see the rest of this series! 😁
I'm loving this series so far! Thinking about doing a series on my channel trying to apply the methods you mention here- love the idea of going back to basics but being able to build on it, too. I have so many single shadows, duos, trios, and quads that I just don't use often, but now I'm motivated to use them! Thanks for your constant inspiration & innovation- always a bright spot in my day :)
I remember your vid from a couple of years ago showing the Sandwich Method. Love it! This will make using my larger palettes so much more versatile, like you mentioned to just pick 2 shades that are light & medium in color. Thank you!
thank u Emily! I love this series. it definitely help me. I have a ton of shadow pallets and loose pallets but I stick w my same colors this helps thank u soo much again! $$
Fantastic tutorial! I love the simplicity of this! Yay for the eye look of the day videos! I am really enjoying this series! Great job as always and thank you!! :)
Hi Emily! i did the one shadow look today and loved it! it was quick and easy and it allowed me to use a colour I don't usually reach for. I'll try this one tomorrow!!
I love how you showed video/images of taking the 2 shadow look a bit further like deepening the crease shade, adding liner, adding lashes! Very clever Very creative Very thoughtful and well just Very Emily 👍🏼😉😍😘❤️
Amazing as always loving this series you have ideas for everyone from the simplest of simple to the complex looks and they all look fabulous! Love you Em! Have an amazing day! ❤️😁
I'm following suit and recreating each look you do this week. I'm rocking the one shadow look from yesterday and will be wearing this one tomorrow. Thanks, Emily.
Love this eyeshadow week theme! This look in particular is so perfect for work, especially to perk up my tired eyes😌. I'm sort of addicted to my warm blending shade, but I want to give this a try....
