So cute. My youngest granddaughter has a preemie size doll and I have a reborn newborn size doll. I'll be making some hats!

That’s wonderful! I know there are different sizes Preemie this one should fit the 5lbs range. But you can also measure the dolls head and make the hat 1” smaller than the head circumference wise. Thank you for watching and commenting! If you think of it, let us know how it goes!

i made the 47 rows for newborn and i used weight 4 yarn, but for some reason it’s not coming up to 12.5”. Should i leave it as is and just soften it afterwards or make it until 12.5”?

If you’ve given it a little stretch and it’s still not 12.5” add a couple more rows. We don’t all crochet the same. This is gauge. Thank you for watching and commenting!

I show it open and closed yes. You can leave it either way. I closed a few of my hats with just the yarn tail and a few stitches with my yarn needle. Thank you for watching!
