I have done this repair about 6 or 7 times so far. Lucky for me a viewer @KTORIOUSPRIME suggested another way to do this job and it worked very well. Thank You for taking the time to share your thoughts! This really helped out. Installing the pump from the bottom on this Kenmore Elite washer was easy. The hardest part was removing the screws for the base of the pump. After they were removed, it came out easily and went back together easily too. This is a similar repair to an LG washing machine.

It went out and when I called to see when the repairman was available, it was 2 weeks away! We are a family of 8 and always have laundry to do so I watched your video and got it done myself! My husband will be excited we saved a repair bill!

I’m a do it myself type person. Living on a farm myself we don’t always have time to wait for someone to come so far out ,so we were taught to try till we get it. People like you who upload simple easy directions are such a lifesaver in times like these!!!!!

Thank you for the info, it just saved me a repair tech visit! That one bolt in the far corner by the foot is a bugger to get out blind, but was able to manage it with an extension and patience. I will say that the replacement pump from your link had a slightly different width and an extra groove or two from the original that made the cover a little difficult to get back onto the new pump. A little careful bending got it in there. If I have to do it again, I'll probably make a few strategic cuts in the cover to reduce the stress on it.

Try this link. If it doesn’t work let me know. I’ll get one tomorrow. Pliers - amzn.to/3N6Hl2R I have found an easier way to replace the pump. I did it from the bottom. Much faster. We have a video on it. But I can’t add to this reply without losing this info. I can find it in the am when I get to my pc if you need it. Thanks kevin.

If they have it, let me know. Sometimes its easier to go there. Here is the link to the video where I changed the pump from the bottom. I did not need the pliers. It was much faster. I was looking at this model that's for sale locally on facebook used. they said it's in good condition. should i pass? you've had this same problem multiple times? i've had my maytag neptune set for probably 20yrs and the dryer is finally starting to struggle when starting up.

I am so sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I would get another one in a minute. They are easy to fix. We've talked about putting a washer dryer set in the basement that way we can keep on washing when the pump fails...because they will. We do wash about 4 loads day on average. Thanks for watching.
