This is a great video on Harlequin breeding! I have a group of 9 in a 20 long, but they share it with a female Betta and various Corys, Otos, and snails. I wonder if the Betta has eaten the eggs. It's been 3 months and I haven't seen any Fry. Congratulations on your fish babies!
@AquascapingCube
@AquascapingCube 2 месяца назад
Thank you! Yes, in community tank it's difficult for fry to survive. Corys could definitely eat the eggs and betta eventual fry that managed to survive.

Interesting behaviour... I started with 15 cherry barbs five years ago, and once the tank was mature and full of plants, they started breeding like crazy with no need of a breeding tank. Now the first generation is almost died, but there're more or less sixty of them... Harlequin rasboras could be a good partner for them. Regards

Cool! Yes, full of plants - this is the key! As long as there are places to hide - there will always be few that survive. And it needs to work because this is basically what happens in nature :)

You can make the same think with espei ?
@AquascapingCube
@AquascapingCube 2 месяца назад
Yes, but Espei seem to be a bit more difficult. They need to be conditioned with live foods etc. So triggering them to breed might be more challenging.

Hi i liked your video, i have one question that what are the foods for newly growing fishes and when should it introduce to them.
@AquascapingCube
@AquascapingCube 18 дней назад
Hi, thank you! I introduce food as soon as the fry starts to swim freely. With small fish like Rasboras I start from Infusoria and then move to Baby Brine shrimp (BBS) - but only when I know that they can handle it. Sometimes I also use powdered flakes, but only as a snack - almost never as main food source.

@ikanpari24
@ikanpari24 2 месяца назад
which food would you feed them in the early stages?
@AquascapingCube
@AquascapingCube 2 месяца назад
I start with Infusoria protogen, but in general very established tank is "feeding" them itself. I push with it until I can introduce Baby Brine Shrimp. If I have any problems I help them with Powdered Egg Yolk.

@AquascapingCube
@AquascapingCube 2 месяца назад
Yes, it should work. But I think that this type is a bit more difficult. They don't breed without acidic water and proper conditioning.
