Disclaimer.. this is not a how to mix and master tutorial, just a video on how to make you mix's loud as possible. Intro and outro song is "Planet 17" off of the Sinking EP, you can find it on my channel or on my SoundCloud! - Skrush
For additional advice, after doing what he explained in this video, I would load up a song with the same kind of vibe that has the radio loudness and compare it to your project. Then tweak with the limiter and eq to match the loudness. Compressing it may also help
so why is it that when u apply the same plugs to your stereo out and then bounce you dont get that loudness/? I find this hella weird as I am a pro tools guy and we are able to do this without any problems. My logic mixes are weak and much lower than my pro tools mixes.
I had the same problem, and still do. Yeah this method will work, but I found that with logics it primarily has to with the volume in the tracks and mixing. Which really sucks from a beginners position because you’ll go through trial and error before figuring that out. This is literally just a simple mastering video.
I downvoted because your title is easy fix to make logic project loud. Your fix is to make ANY mp3 in iTunes louder. Tell me how to make my actual Logic projects bounce at a higher volume.
Dude it worked a treat! Although had to take the bitcruncher up to mid as was getting horrible static at zero but honestly it's given my track that punch I needed on the drums, I'll send you it over when it's released, cheers man
thanks man! its been a struggle for me for a little while. especially because i work w lofi hiphop/ chill beats. super quiet lol. i appreciate this alot.
Thank you .. I Put my volume high (include plugins) and it sounds lower . Here’s a link to my soundcloud and check out my songs. Thank you this is my newest song out m.soundcloud.com/sevy-vevo/sevv-need-you
Hello! Question.. in the bounce window, I noticed you had PCM checked and not MP3, but when I selected PCM I didn't have the AIFF option on the right. Did something change in 2021?
This is infuriating. When I listen to a sample, it is loud in headphones.... drag into the project, and it is quiet. I am not asking how to master, I just want to hear the project in my headphones properly. It is ruining my experience of producing as I use headphones.
i think these daw purposely make these programs low so you cant compete with the pros, anytime you listen through the daw or any other recording program sound great soon as you mp3/wav bounce you lose quality or it either sound too low, this is on purpose they sell us inferior recording daws, mics, etc, i remember windows media recorder was so accurate on windows xp/95 what ever you recorded from your sound card sounded exact now with windows 7 and up they have a new crappy recorder that sound like shit..(elite scared to give us true recording products fear we just record songs we hear off the pc for free and also be able to make professional sounding music).. i believe the record companies and the ones selling gear are in cahoots to keep us little guys not able to have commercial sounding songs while selling a product(daws/mic/amps/plugins) to claim you can diy to keep us buying gear (never ending money pit).. I wish people would talk about this conspiracy of home recording.. ps also when you try to get your vocals loud and to mix with the instrumental you always reach the red/clip before it get to that professional sound, i truly believe these daws make you hit the red before time and give you a automation distortion ...wish more people would out these companies etc
Excellent point! i've heard of this theory as well, and it really dose make you think about it. it would be a perfect ploy for an endless cash pool for companys who make plugins etc. However even with this said disadvantage, if you were to still over come the obstacles of this, at the end of the day you would become that much better as a home producer.
bro the pros use these programs. plus if you arent using a sound interface when you record with a mic, you will always run into these problems because every computer's build in sound card is shit. get a Focusrite interface so you can actually listen to what you are producing. your computer sound card cant process all of the things you are listening to.
Good shit homie but my main problem is having to suffer when I listen to a post malone song or any other billboard sounding song and switching to my song right after and hearing how my shit is so de amplified it's so annoying but this definitly helped a lil more
This doesn’t really help if you’re selling beats to rappers who don’t have someone who masters in their squad… If my MP3 sounds good but the trackouts have no mastering on them and sound like shit, how does that help out the rapper? That could make the beat worthless to him
You don't need to do any of this, just don't select normalise when you bounce down. Also, your exported file is one legged and will only play in one channel. hope this helps.
but his levels are just clipping. as soon as he plays it on a professional sound system, he will run into distortion (not the kind you want). His master fader is reading 0dB which is way to high. Optimally, you want to hit about -10 dB while using a daw, which converts into about +4dBu which is the maximum a professional level studio can handle.
Correct sir, but also just keep in mind I'm not trying to teach mastering techniques, just an easy way to bump up some dB's for those who want a quick bounce with decent volume for there selected project. :)
unbelievable. I've been trying to get somewhat close to those pro-tracks for years. And still can't! If I but a limiter on my track prepared for mastering and put let's say 3dbs, it gets just a tiny bit louder. But if I put 5, 10 or 20 there won't be any difference in loudness!!! There will be difference in sound quality, but loudness is the same!!!! I can't get more than 2/3 of it it should be!
it just takes a lot of practice my friend. I'm working on a updated version of this kind of video, you get to save more quality while getting even louder results, so stay tuned!
