Thank you!!! I found this awhile ago, but never got around to doing it. My Grandma's birthday is this upcoming week. I just came across this tutorial in my saved videos. Just love this painting the night sky and illuminating moon..gorgeous. I want to THANK YOU how you show mixing the colours and especially showing us the brushes you use. It drives me crazy when I see TUTORIAL and it's anything but, they leave out a lot of what beginners need to see.

I’m in the process of painting this. First time trying to paint. Struggled with the moon, too dark/too light, going over and over it in layers. Ended up accidentally going outside the circle, so had to make the moon larger, kinda looks like the moon in that Jim Carey film when he makes the moon huge lol. I’m really enjoying it though. Thank you. You have a new subscriber in me!

I saw this same painting on another channel today and tried to do it the same way. Yours was easier to follow and I painted my own version. My trees look great, but my moon and reflection look like a squirrel ran amok with a paintbrush.

Thank you! :) You mean there's too much brown in the moon? You can vary, there's nothing wrong with it if it's too brown for someone. You can do it with just black and white, it's easier, because then you don't have to deal with the colours, just the different shades of grey.

I just reinforced the lines with my free hand, but otherwise I drew it with a compass, that's why it's so precise. I could have done it freehand, but it's faster. Anyway, I also draw regularly, so maybe that's why I could do it freehand.

Yes, you can paint this with oil paint, but be aware that oil dries much slower and will probably take more days to paint with drying times.

Looks great One thing please As a artist too I find going back and forth too much is not helping You have to blend but finish with even left to right strokes

Thank you! You see, sometimes that's enough. And when I need to, I use up and down movements to paint a more beautiful transition on the background. These videos are mainly for beginners, so it's not worth overcomplicating the process. The ones I paint on commission and for my own pleasure you won't find here, only on Instagram, Facebook and now some of them as videos on Patreon. Check them out if you like! :)

This is gorgeous. But when you say for beginners it's a slap in the face. You kinda go to fast for me. I've been wanting to try painting with brushes again and found your video and got so excited, unfortunately I just can't keep up. It's definitely a breathtaking beautiful scene though
