Easy Garden Plant: Salvia 'Love and Wishes' 

This is Salvia 'Love and Wishes' it's a tender Salvia and by no means hardy but you can bring it undercover during the winter and plant it out again the following spring. I've used it extensively in different pots and containers and it seems to love growing in a confined space in full sun where its forced to push itself up into the light. The flowers are a luxurious deep pink purple held on stems that themselves are a strong purple. As with most of the Salvias the leaves are scented. I have the utmost respect for its incredibly long flowering period, that started in early July and is still, even now, well into October, going strong. Its certainly not the time of year to be thinking about getting hold of one but if you come across it next spring then it would be worth considering especially if you had a container in full sun that you wanted to plant up for the season.
