Daniel Smith Watercolors: Phthalo Green
Winsor Newton Watercolor: Indigo
Fluid Watercolor paper (but any smooth, inexpensive watercolor paper like Canson works well)
Sakura Gelly Roll Pen: Gold (www.amazon.com/Sakura-57383-6...)

Thank you for your tutorial! I noticed a beautiful ginkgo tree, which is very rare where I live, because it's just turning it's colors and stood so bright. So I collected some leaves, pressed them and am now trying to paint them as a gift for my niece. We'll see how it turns out.

Have you tried doing these with the metallic paints for the lines, Fernanda? If so, let me know if you have a tutorial with that technique. Blessings to you!

I use the Sakura Gelly roll pens in gold for the lines. I think I would have trouble with control of the thin lines otherwise.

I tried it yesterday with my Princeton heritage #2 liner brush and it worked very well. I could get super thin, precise veins, or beautiful organic messy veins. It’s easier than I thought. The trick was with the metallic paint since it tends to get thick as it dries. I’m working out an idea for a larger project so did it in my mixed media sketchbook, but I’m happy with the results.
