Welcome back to my channel for another easy tutorial! This is a step by step of how to make and paint your own beautiful Christmas ornaments on a budget 😊
Supplies:
Paint- acrylic
White
Black
Standard size Smooth foam balls
Paint brushes:
Small liner or round
Mini filbert
Larger filbert
Mini mop brush
Ribbon (I’m using 1 inch white organza)
Scissors
Hooks
Any glossy Varnish or Sealer
Glitter - I’m using a fine iridescent glitter
Clear hot Glue or silicone

I watched one of your videos that was a couple of years ago that had the same basic technique. In 2021 I made these and was able to sell a lot! This year, 2023, I am making them again and already have the orders coming in. I love this style. It’s like Bib Ross on a Christmas ornament. You are very talented and thank you for sharing that!

I like to use Liquitex basics acrylics, but I used to use craft paints like Americana and craft apple barrel too and they work well 😊

Love your work! Question: I want to add the to B&W pallet the Kachina color. Any suggestions? Just as an accent. My daughter’s new living room colors are Black, Grey and white with the Kachina color to warm it up.

Acrylic will scratch off of plastic and glass, I’d recommend using oil or enamel on those surfaces 😊

Beautiful, but I am curious about one thing....why do you apply the mod-podge on a wet ball?

I don’t, I make sure the ball is dry before I apply the mod podge 😉

Does this work on any round ornament, like ceramic or glass? Or does ceramic and glass need a primer?

You’ll need a different paint that sticks to waterproof surfaces like glass, plastic, metal etc.. enamel paints are one kind.

I wouldn’t recommend it, you’ll need specific paint for plastic or glass 😉

Hey... So I started to do this and it was awful. I think I have the wrong paint..I used cheap little craft paint. It almost seems watery.. Anyways will the master touch acrylic paints be okay to use or should I just use liquidtex? Thank u for ur help...

Its dollar store quality, while I learn. So not as smooth as yours. It feels soft

I actually get mine from the dollar stores too:) try applying 1-2 coats of gesso to your ball and see if it helps hold the paint👍
