Old comment is old but I've found the type and quality of pin makes a massive difference. That and she doesn't really have layers that would be sticking out and need extra pins
I've been doing something similar to this for years without pins, just when I'm sitting around trying to keep cool. So obviously it falls out, I've seriously never thought to secure it and wear it. Excellent
I love how simple this was to recreate. And most of the time any hairstyle I do with barbie pins never lasts long. This one, I am so proud to say, last all day! Never did I have to reset a barbie pin. My hair stayed gathered really well and I felt pretty while staying cool all day. Thank you for this lovely and efficient style! Nothing worse than sweaty hair stuck to your back so this was much needed! It's 90 here where I am lately and I have long hair so this was such a great video!
What do you do to your hair to sleep? Mine has reached a length that it’s too annoying to leave down, but I get a terrible headache if I sleep with it in a bun.
undoing is not too bad, take the pins out and untie and the rest should fall apart with a little help from your finger by putting it above the knot one by one and pulling down :) Bonus, if you leave it in all day you get cute waves from it
@@hang1iderswing Yeah they are, but you literally can't see the work put into a braid if it's done on dark hair. So I agree with the OP, some hairdos _do_ look better on lighter hair colours.
While I definitely agree that all hair colours are beautiful, many braids and updos don’t properly show up in dark hair and you unfortunately can’t properly see the actual complications of the braid as they camouflage with the rest of the hair...I too struggle with this cause I have pretty dark hair 😩😩
Your hair is beautiful! Unfortunately my hair is very thin and going through a shedding phase that never seems to end once it starts. Trying products is crazy because I have wasted so much $ on them and they will seem to start working and then bam same results. It is a really beautiful look! You explain it well and I can use this to do others hair as I used to be a cosmetologist!
Perhaps try using less products, be very gentle when you brush and keep it up using a hair-stick or pins if your hair isn't too long. Also I sleep with a braid to help with the tangles. This is all I do and my hair is super fine...but it's grown after changing my habits to this. I think....less is more maybe???
My hair is the same length but the hairdresser gave me such weird layers and now I can’t do any cute hairstyles without making it rock hard with hairspray
Hi, Alex! Thanks for tutorial. Beautiful, as always! I was wondering if this hairstyle is comfortable to wear all day? Sometimes hairdos can be itchy, even painful after 2-3 hours of wear. Have you tried it?
This might be a silly question but how do you get a secure ponytail with the bungee style tie? My hair is very long (I can sit on it) and thick so it never seems secure enough when I use a bungee tie. Can someone give me an idea of how many times to wrap the elastic (I usually try to make it as tight as possible) or maybe some tips on how to angle the bobbi-pins to help me make if feel more secure?? I have looked for videos on this but I haven’t found one where you can actually see it done. I always seem to give up and just put a regular hair elastic in. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts, tips, tricks or video suggestions!!!Thank You!!!!!! ❤️
Same here. I can use tons of Bobby pins but that just don't work for my hair. Thick long hair. Better just a regular elastic. Feels better and doesn't make any difference to the results.
I can’t get the bungee elastic to work either. It always pops out or isn’t secure enough. My hair is just below my shoulder blades, fine, and medium thickness, so I just use a plain elastic, too.
Sara From Sandra, I didn’t does that work? Today I did this style and skipped the elastic altogether, just held on the the ends. I got in 4 knots, pinned the bottom into the hole, and it’s held all day. It’s not fancy like Alex’s, but kept my hair up as I worked in the garden (and it’s hot here).

Plz dont put this on a hate comment list but the hair styles arnt very quick they are beautiful but they are expensive not everyone has a hair wrap of clips or sprays on them this isnt a quick and eassy just get my hair out off my face this is more like for work of a meal even it's not as practical as a simple high pony or bun but they r stylish gourguse and truly beautiful u r amazing don't forget that!
I love styles for pony tails what is easy .been in her 7 month ju got out before this started had 5 major surgery life or death no one to talk to got 4 Little dogs my babies they got me through it x😘🐾
