I've made this but didn't do any buttonholes. My buttons fit just fine through the natural holes between the stitches. Always another way! Thanks so much. - I really enjoy your videos. You are a good teacher!
I enjoy crocheting the Y,all Scarf. It is very useful in the winter months. I am adding a pocket behind the bottom side for the keys. That is very handy.
You teach very well. It has been 30 years since I have crocheted and then it wasn't very much. Thank you so much for helping me get started with new projects for Christmas. It meant a lot to me that I could download for free the written pattern for backup. I had to watch over and over until I got it but I did. Sincerely, Kathleen
Made your scarf pattern in 1 day. So easy thanks... I even had one 1 inch button and 2 smaller and it still worked with 1 chain skip that your did for the button holes. Wish I can post my picture. I did a white yarn with a teal blue came out beautiful. Thanks!
Thanks to lady show me how to crochet. I am very like it and I will try to do it now to make the gift to my relatives. One again to thank you and happy Holidays 🦃🦃🦃
Awesome color combination. I would never have thought of combining those two colors, but they look great together. A super quick, easy, and chic pattern. Thanks!
Thank you Clare. I just finished making this cowl for my best friend as a birthday gift. I’m going to have a hard time giving it to her because it’s absolutely beautiful ❤. Now I have to make another one for myself! ❤❤❤❤
I loved your tutorial very easy when I thought it was going to be hard to do since it was my first time making one.... I made it and it came put gorgeous I actually made it with three types of yarn with jeweled buttons....
Shhhhhhhhh,,,,don’t tell anybody but you are the best teacher on crocheting 🧶. Love your stories and your show and tell ,,, thank you So much.....Merry Christmas 🎄 and Happy New year. 🎊
HI Pamela, sorry I totally missed this comment, sorry about that. You comment made me giggle. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Can you believe that it is almost that time again?
This is the best pattern and so quick and economical to make especially with this yarn..This yarn is perfect for this pattern..Perfect for gifts. I am currently working on one but am using a strand of red heart and a strand of lion brand homespun..Gives it a different look and texture, very nice..Thanks again for this great psttern
I made 2 of these scarfs and they turned out perfect! I used blue yarn and black with metallic thread yarn and have had requests to make one for others.
I will definitely be making this for my mother this year. She hates the winter and gets cold easily, so she loves a good scarf or cowl to keep her neck warm. This is my first year at crocheting but I'm fairly confident that I can do this! The hardest bit will be getting the buttons even with the holes...I suck at perfectly lining up buttons to their matching holes, I can never get it just right.
I have been following your videos and making lots of nice things. I like the way you teach and I like the detailed explanations. I will post something I made on your FB page someday. Thank you for the free videos. I am self taught and all the help I have gotten on You Tube is amazing. I created my own pattern for a hook case for larger needles which I will share once I write up the pattern which I am sure people will want. Thank you again. You are amazing!
Thanks for this pattern. I made it with black and off white, with black buttons. It turned out AWESOME. Now I need to find a version for men. My husband is trying to take this one. I am going to hide it.
I love this and can't wait to try it. Thanks for all the great tutorials. I just got into crochet a little less than a year ago and I have learned a lot. From your videos. I really have to see it to understand it. Patterns can be overwhelming sometimes. You really break it down. Thanks!
Love this. Made some gifts for some friends. Posted this on FB as so many people were interested in learning it. Thanks so much for sharing. Really appreciate your hard work. ☺
Yay!!!! I just finished this off today! I started it last night and was able to finish today.. I made in Red Heart Super Saver in the color Gold and used brown buttons.. I gifted it to a friend and she loved it! I made it the exact specs that you used and it was just fine. It is wide enough to fold down a bit around the neck for a slight variation in the look. The weight of the fabric is just right and I definitely recommend this same yarn to use with the 2 strands. Can't thank you enough for this great demo and I look forward to making up more of these in different colors! Cheers and keep up the great work!
I am doing good.. I am still around just have not got around to making a video.. but fall is coming and I am ready to get back to crocheting and making videos.. and your video is definitely inspiring me to get to hooking..lol How have you been?
Thank you so much for this tutorial! So easy to follow and I am so exited I made it in about 3 hours and I consider myself a very beginner, thank you again!
Love this ;-) Your videos and written patterns are so easy to follow and you are so kind to make them for us to enjoy for free xxx I learnt to crochet watching your ribbed glove video and still love making them now, as they are easy and effective x I have been looking for an easy and quick pattern to make one of these cowls for ages and now I have one
I absolutely love your tutorials! You explain your projects clearly and with excellent attention to detail. Thank you so much for all that you do for us. You are such an inspiration.... :)
I love this tutorial so much 😍😍😍😍 and I want to make one the same size as yours . Could you tell me the width of the scarf ,please? I will make it with the single crochet stitch and 7 mm crochet hook. please please answer me 😭😭😭
Thank you for a great tutorial. I have just finished mine but need to source some special buttons. I have already bought some more yarn to make another.
You’re quite welcome! As it will be the start of fall here I was drawn to the colors and pattern as I had done one similar. Growing up in the 70’s I got so sick of oranges and rust and every other color associated with that era lol! I cringe upon hearing bell bottoms! 😂. But lately I’ve come to appreciate some of them again especially around the fall and this cowl just spoke to me. The pattern is easy and the buttons you chose are beautiful! And I have a bunch of the color or very similar in Red Heart Soft that I bought on sale so it’s perfect! Thanks again!
G'day Aisha Bunch thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! Have you joined our group yet? You can share all of your bobwilson123 projects here. facebook.com/groups/338449986970915/
G'day, Clare! Missed you - glad to have found you again. A friend wants to learn how to crochet and showed me the item she wants - and I found that YOU have something close to what she wants. Yippee. You look wonderful, darling. You still remind me of my friend Jo who lives in Melbourne.
Hi there...I've been meaning to send you a message for some time now. I have been following you and your patterns for probably over a year now and have made many of your designs. I just finished this cowl and it came beautiful. I love watching your videos. You make everything seem so easy and your instructions are absolutely perfect. I think next I will make the chain scarf. Easy but very pretty. Thank you for these wonderful videos and easy instructions.
Hi, a very nice tutorial!!! I love your accent! I am so sorry about your bunny!!! My husband and I had two bunnies years ago. One we gave away snd the favorite passed after she had babies. It was horrible!!!!! Hugs from Cleveland, Ohio.
it was great tutorial, I make small size for kids and chain about 23 inch is perfect size for 6 years old boy and also without button so is easy for them to wear. thank you so much for sharing a great tutorial ❤ from indonesia
I love this pattern! I just made one for a Christmas gift, but not sure if I should adjust the size for a larger adult. Probably a size 14/16, or if it fits all sizes. Thanks again for this beautiful pattern.
Hello Kim, thank you so much! I am not sure on adjusting the size, I guess I wouldn't go too much larger because generally head sizes are the same regardless of body shape. If the one you have made is snug on a smaller body I would make it no more than 3 inches longer. Please let me know how you go with it, I would be interested to know the result
Hello I am new to the art of crochet and this is the first bigish item that I've made . I found you video tutorial easy to follow. I do have a pic but I not sure how to up load it,as I don't wish some of my Facebook friends to see it , as I wish to make a few more of them to give as Xmas gifts. Xx
+Jennifer Hill Hi, I m sorry but I do not have a left handed version but you can find the written pattern here. www.bobwilson123.org/scarf-cowl-gloves-and-mittens.html
