-------
GLOSSARY:
Itadakimasu/
Japanese say this phrase to show appreciation to the plants and animals that gave their lives for the meal you're about to consume, as well as to everyone who were involved to prepare the meal.
Gochisousama deshita/
A phrase Japanese say when they finish the meal. By saying that, you show your appreciation again to the person who serves, cooks, or provides the food.

Awesome content! Wish to see much more please. ❤ You didn’t have an English translation for Itadakimasu or Gochisou Sama deshita ?
@Danbu1988
@Danbu1988 Год назад
Hey, those are phrases related to having a meal which don't really have a counterpart in english. 'Itadakimasu' deviates from 'itadaku' which means 'to receive'. ' Gochisousamadeshita' comes from 'gochisou', which can mean 'to treat' or something like 'delicous meal'. The way they are used in reality the meaning of both comes close to 'thanks for the meal', with the difference that 'itadakimasu' is said before and 'gochisousamadeshita' after eating.

@coolfire719
@coolfire719 7 лет назад
If someone does not agree with my answer or would like to correct then by all means. You are thinking of China which is different than Japan, In Japan aesthetics is to consider the need of others before one's own. While many people have their own reason for wearing a mask many where them to isolate a cold or if they feel they could infect another person. Which makes common sense when you think about it but yet we in the West seem to not adhere to this custom which actually boggles me to this day.

As long as I know girls don't use お腹減った. Men Use 腹and 減る While women use お腹and空く In the first place お腹and減るdon't come together.

I have to disagree. Girls do use お腹減った and お腹 & 減った do come together. proof? I have heard em.
@VigorousVicious
@VigorousVicious 8 лет назад
I'm Japanese. Yes, "お腹減った" is a bit unnatural. As you said, women and girls tend to use "空いた" rather than "減った". So 「腹へった」 or 「お腹すいた」→ perfect Japanese!! Tip: if you want to be more manly, when you say "腹へった" don't make "た" long. If you want to be more kawaii, when you say "お腹すいた" add additional "~" end of "すいた" and make it something like "お腹すいた~!". This gives the sentence some "甘えるような" effect!! (Sorry, I don't know what to translate it into.) After all, I recommend to use "お腹すいた" because it's more polite and gives someone you speak to a good impression and moreover, it goes well with 敬語. "お腹が空きました。" is much more natural than "腹が減りました。".
