Actually a 'Hikikomori' in Japan, is someone who choose to live their life in social isolation or with very limited social interaction. It is not simply 'being lazy' and indicates an underlying problem with social integration or mental health problem. I think there are a lot of reasons for this in Japan, for example, being bullied in school, undiagnosed autism or losing social skills after developing a mental health problem. That said, a hikikomori can develop a habit of playing video games (or any other kinds of hobbies that would let them escape reality) all night to past their time and sleep during the day etc.
You certainly do pack a lot into your videos. I need to go back and replay each one, sometimes stopping to make notes, or to practice writing. Thank you for all of your hard work.
Interestingly enough, there's a kid at my school from China and she speaks with a similar accent, but it's a lot more subtle since she's been living in the States for a while
@Proton Pkm because we don't speak "english" in America. We speak north 'American' tho English words are a lot of the language here we also us French, much Spanish, and some Japanese, and a little islander... that mainly comprises the American dialect of dialects.
@Proton Pkm I'm Swedish and I do my best to speak in a British accent. What you said is very true. A long, long time ago when my dad was still studying, his professor was becoming more and more frustrated with the assignments he was getting from my dad. Then one day, the professor confronted my dad to apologize for not realising that he was writing in American English and not Proper English. I don't know if you can tell or not but I am quite terrible at writing, and I believe my proper English have been contaminated with some American English. Either way... I just wanted to say that you have a point, this is just a loosely written comment to solidify your statement. May you have a good day or night depending on when you read this.
You put a colossal amount of work in your video's, I will support you via Patreon for sure. I love your thorough approach, intelligent, articulate and clear, thank you!
Nice to see you getting a sponsor, you do good work :) I'm back to learning Japanese, I've realised that it's just as hard learning chinese on the street as it is in Tokyo but i'm thinking of going to Osaka as i've met a lot of people from there in Taipei.
I just accepted a job offer in Japan, which commences in December, so I was looking around on RU-vid for videos to help me know how to fit in better, and came across your channel. I already passed the JLPT N5, but I plan to watch your videos from the very beginning. Your explanations are great, and you give really easy to follow examples. I expect that I will learn a lot even from the beginner video. Thanks for your hard work. :)
It's really good to see your channel grow. I started watching your videos from when you had only 4 videos in the Japanese for beginners series and watching you and your channel grow on RU-vid has really been a pleasure.
@amy whinehouse no, but that's cuz I sorta dropped actively studying it. I still do consume a lot of Japanese multimedia and can understand a lot of the stuff going on and know enough to complain when the subtitles are bad XD
Congratulations! These are by far the most detailed and comprehensive Japanese lessons on YT. You studied your English in England obviously. Got a bit of an accent there, miss! Thank you for your efforts!
i love how you thoroughly explain the construction/meaning of each sentence. i find that most vids just say that this phrase equals that phrase, making it harder for many to learn since it often promotes memorization rather than actually understanding how the words/phrases come together to give their meaning!
This blood type interest is so strange - I have never ever heard anyone in Europe show any interest in this or think that the blood type somehow affects your personality. It's bit like astrology which of course we have here in Europe.
You uploaded this video the day I landed in Japan! Wish I knew about you before I came!!!!! Thank you so much will study for the next time I come back!!
I am just now starting to learn Japanese and it really seems to daunting. I realize that this is going to be the case and I should do my best and work hard at learning it because learning Japanese is something which may help in my future endeavors. You have a new subscriber. :-) Hajime mashite [Although that may not be necessarily correct since I'm not actually officially meeting you].
Ive been living in Japan for years and no one told me how to construct sentence, wow thats why everytime I explain I annoyed them thanks new subscriber here!
I feel that I’m ready for your lessons. Been studying for 4 months now. Hard to get started but I can understand most simple things because of context. I’m watching Japanese movies and can understand at least 1 to 2% but I catch all the particles most of the time. Have not had a conversation with any one yet sadly. But I have sorta talked in a monster hunter game recently. But kanji kills me. I know like 20 kanji. Thanks for this lesson.
You are doing well. The kids in my Japanese class WITH A JAPANESE SPEAKING TEACHER have been learning for 3 years now and they are all retarded, I asked one of them what です was to test and they were like ???? Nani?? I want to strange them
Misa teaching is really rich comparing to other channels! I've been into many sources but Misa really shows contexts, variety and a load of grammar at once easy to remember.
Every time I watch your videos I take notes on my notebook. There are many useful tips and contents only in 19 minutes 😍 I really appreciate your channel and the effort you put on it. Thank you, Misa!
I recently started to selfstudy Japanese and your videos are super helpfull and you explain way better then anything written I have found in the internet, thanks alot!
I love your videos! I've only watched a few but there's so much good information in them that I want to go back and watch through them all. ありがとうございます!
Is really very educative thanks so much appreciate it,, Living in Japan you can't understand Japanese language is very difficult,,Thanks once again for making it easy for those who can't afford for for Japanese language classes
I know this video is a few months old, but I'm just seeing it for the first time. Thank you for the upload. Your videos are super helpful and are great for helping me improve my Japanese.
I find it really interesting how much insight you put into your videos that I don’t seen in textbooks! I liked the blood type descriptions too, that is so much different than American culture! Very pleasing :)
me and my friends went out yesterday since it's sunday, we happened to meet a japenese couple touring here at hongkong... at first, I just caught up that they are talking in japanese... i gathered up courage to ask them if I'm right... so i said, "sumimassen, nihon-jin des ka?" and that's the start of a new acquaintances. thank you so much for your effort in creating a very helpful videos like this. 😊😊😊😊
And i was wondering why you can find the blood type of Characters from Anime or JRPG so often in Wiki-entrys or even in Artworks. Always seemed a bit strange but now it makes totally sense. O 型 です ( it is not like everybody in japan will get along with me because everybody can get my blood is it? that seems scary to be honest. With this Interpretation i know why the AB type is considered a Genius :P....) nice Video as always, ありがとうございます。
I can't believe I've never come across your channel. Really enjoying the content and how you give a variety of words for similar or related situations.
I know it's already been said, but you truly are a great teacher. I am so happy to have come across your videos. I feel more confident in the Japanese I use because of you. Thank you for all you do!
Very interesting. In America, if a foreigner were to say to us "I will speak with an American for the first time" it would be considered very odd. It's so fascinating how different our languages can be! Thank you for another wonderful video. I am learning more quickly thanks to you.
Being from Scotland myself i never expected you to include our country in your translation, we are always lumped in with English or British which is just way off the mark, Also i dont know of its because i wasnt expecting it but it almost sounded like you had a scots accent when you said it
same with me, I'm from Germany and I didn't expect german to be in this. It's usually just Italia, England, France and Spain or something like that...
you need to give your blood to be examined... i don't know how it works on another countries, but here we ask for a doctor when we need to check our health, you know...
thank you for the video Lesson here in New York City trying to learn Japanese. I always enjoy watching your videos, I learn so much from them. I give this video thumbs up👍
Merci depuis Paris, France! Don't ever found a such methode who teach japanese in french language! It make me work both languages at the same time with pleasur. Arigato gosaimasu!
Thank you so much for this Misa. This is very helpful. All I need now is to figure out the questions to be asked, so that I can respond to Japanese people all the phrase you tought. Thanks again.
Misa sensei your lessons are very helpful. Detailed and fun. At first I thought learning Japanese was difficult, thanks to your lessons, now it is fun and so much interesting. Thanks a lot!!
Well, I learnt nothing from this video..... and I couldn't be happier!!! Maybe I'm finally starting to get a basic understanding of the Japanese language at last and so I'd like to thank you Misa for your amazing lessons that have played such a large part in my studies so far. おつかれさまでした!!
Super helpful video like all of Misa-sensei's. I would just point out the background music is rather a (not really welcome) distraction -it would be even better without it. No matter how basic the topic, you always manage to show interesting sides to it!
Wow kinda stumbled upon youre video, but you speak so clear and abit slow, i love It realy helps me getting better in Japanse! Thank you for your hard work!
Yay! I am so happy to see how easy the Month names are. haha Counting/dates/time have all been the most difficult part of learning Japanese for me so far.
soooo helpful! this helps because in my next japanese class japanese students are coming and we have to do introductions! i wont add watashi so i sound more professional
Misa-san I am used to watch your video classes and they are amazing you helped me a lot on my path to learn nihongo however it could be better if the videos were shorter and could be marvelous!!thank you a lot😆😄
I saw many videoes om self introduction, but this was the most explanatory video so far. I loved it. 💯💯💯💯 Where can i find a video where working experience has to be told, interview related
