Hey Shane, Love the shield, but I looked on that site you mentioned before and noticed that the different sheets have different densities. Was wondering if you change the density of the foam you are using for shields compared to swords to get more rigidity? Also do you find yourself getting sheets of certain sizes? Is there one size of sheet you tend to just stock up on when ever you can and use it for everything, or is there a system you have in place?

Yea you can get differsnt densities. But the 45 is the one most common for larp weapons and armour as it's not to rigid. And I tend to stock up on 8mm and 12mm thickness foam. Both in the 45

You may have already thought of this, but it might be easier to line up the strap holes of your middle layer and back layer if, once you've cut out the slots for the straps in your middle layer, and before you put on the straps, you could lay it over your back layer and mark it with your pen through the strap holes, like a stencil, cut them out then, or whenever you're ready to put that back layer on, after you've added the straps. Excellent tutorials though! Thank you for sharing these. You cover the process quite thoroughly and you do amazing work. Your channel is exactly what I've been looking for.

In Russia, we use one layer of EVA and one layer of thin plywood, to which we attach handles. It is quite durable and safe.

Its not for actual fighting. Its for larp fighting. Which is... Well think of it like a sport.

@@scottishcommunist1364 With LARP your usually using your weapon against other people, because of this it's safest to use prop weapons rather then real ones. Like how people in movies shoot fake guns at eachother, rather then real guns. With a shield, depending on what the group rules are, you may use your shield as a weapon so have a real shield would be dangerous, same with a real sword. On top of that, while the prop weapons are expensive I imagine the real things are even more so, not to mention it's a lot heavier.
