Huon Pine was valued for the fact its natural oils kept marine life, Barnacles etc from attacking the timber , that made it superb timber for boat building
Awesome video , I recently brought a small cnc as an absolute beginner and find your videos to be amazingly in depth and highly educating I just want to personally thank you for your help and teaching 😀
yeh, ifyou put the work into it, taking pics from greyscale is so much easier than buying lol, however the devil is in the details. I haven't learned aertcam yet so I'm curious, thank you for your time Its suprising(not really if you think about ppl selling the reliefs) that there aren't more of these tutorials. so once again thank you
so if i wanted my wedding photo 3d carved in wood this is what i would do, correct? so i can use any photo i want and convert it to 3d? im sorry with the questions but im new to this and my wife wants a customized fireplace mantel and i thought capturing our most treasured moments to be the best option
Hi Roger I'm new to artcam ,I've been trying to do a 3d relief of my grandson head .I've converted it into greyscale but it turn out such a mess ,any idea regards Gordon 😊
Thanks for the great info. I really like how “ArtCAM” worked and seemed like it would have a nice learning curve to it. Just when on line to check on purchasing it and the have discontinued it as of February 7 2018. Darn just a week to late watching this video. Thanks again for sharing.
Roger another amazing tutorial about CNC carving. But, I have just figured out that ArtCam has been discontinued by AutoDesk, so could you please tell me if is out there a substitutive tool that I should use to do those 3D panels? Thanks a lot. Keep carving. Best regards from the other side of the world.
Hi Rene, yes, you will need Vetric Aspire, I will be starting tutorials on Aspire from tomorrow I am videoing now;-D Thank you, for watching, Please subscribe and forward the video on to a friend, Australian Inventor Roger Clyde Webb ;-)
Great video roger, as always. But I feel I got lost somewhere here. One, my toolbars aren't set up as nice as yours with all the available options and icons, so i'm fumbling around to find them, but no problem. I can get by. I did follow this tutorial exactly, and for whatever reason, when I get to the end and I am calculating, my relief file is still in a 3d style, but it's looks like it sits on top, rather than recessed in. Have you ever run into that before? Or do you have any tips as to what I may have done wrong?
please please roger. please. how add the tapered ball nose in the artcam. because I want to do only one pass with raster strategy , and I dont know how to put the tapered ball mill. only appear ball nose mill.
Dear sir i have cnc Mitsubishi m80 and in preasent i m operating art cam software but i getting difficulty in program in program i getting only x and y position not z position i want to make 3D program how i get proper program for this cnc sir pls help me .
Great video! I do have one question i'm doing the same picture that your showing and at 14:37 you click on the 3D tab. When I click on the 3d tab it just just shows the blank gold sheet no dimension to it? Did I miss a step here? thx
Hi Roger Artcam is no longer available. Can you recommend substitute SW that will perform the conversion from gray scale images to that can be used by CNC software Jim
The problem only Alpha Height Grayscale image. There is no software can automatically make it perfect (including Crazybump, etc). Still need art taste from human resourse if you want "an easy way" to make relief.
Hi I have two videos for you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zKd4kvvb318.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AvDfYbABo-A.html
Hello sir, firstly, thanks for the great tutorial One question tho, is there a way i can convert normal image into grayscale image ? For example i just took a photo of myself and i want ti print it out ?
Thank you for the video which is very explanatory. I'm wondering if this is the free version of ArtCam you are working with. Can you produce work like this with the free version? I am a hobbyist. Many thanks
As of July 7, 2018, Autodesk ArtCAM has been discontinued. Is there away that I can get a copy of artcam software, download links so I can follow along with you. This way there won't be any mistakes.
hello.. actually im watching your tutorials since last few days and i am a cnc operator i am designing in a 12inX16in work piece but when i performed the MMG file in my cnc the cnc is working in bigger area then the work piece can you help to fix this...

Hi , great video , thank you . Please can you tell me how to make my own greyscale images . clients want customised items so you can't google it right ? thanking you in advance .
Thank you for your quick reply . Yes , I spent a lot of time also trying to find an almost easy way . The purpose is to use them in Zbrush as alphas , customised clients portraits on medals .
just comments waw , that's so generous of you . Thank you . but ihave to find my own way . nothing is easy in life .10000000 thanks and wish you a very happy 2017 new year
Model first then use ArtCam or ZBrush to turn them into a grayscale relief, no other way. You can turn them into a grayscale relief only with one click.
Hey, Roger. When I clicked on this video I was truly hoping you were going to show us how to make a 3D image from a gray scale photo. NOPE!!! All you did was what most of the youtubers out there do when it comes to the 1,000 plus 3D tutorials. You took an already made 3D image, plugged it into a CNC router and let it do all the work. I think what we all want to learn is how to take a photo and turn it into the 3D gray scale image like the one you started with. Forget the routing for a while. Just make a 3D image.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. And the image appears to be a 3d Depth Map from an Actual 3d Model. Not just someart or photograph one googles. It was already set up for CNC relief engraving or 3d Printing. Its a little misleading.
