I love the Letterpress effect but simply have to stop "hoarding" paper crafting supplies (including a Letterpress system). You have taught us how to get the same effect with supplies we already have. You are so generous Christine and a fine teacher. Thank you so much for the inspiration.
@@Chrissieannie Just now thinking: This only works when the die can be mirrored? Correct? For instance if you took the sentiment die, flipped it for the coloring/impression and then flipped to cut die piece...this would not work...would it? Do I have this wrong?
Great idea! The pale colour is just right for the die. This starts a thought process and makes you look at your dies in a different way. Thanks for sharing 😊
What a really really fantastic idea and your card is beautiful. I can never look at a die as just a die again. Thank you for teaching this old dog a new trick.
Beautiful card Chris! I interrupted my viewing tgo see If I could the spray that you on the card! No luck so far. This a technique that I have never seen, I learned somethings new this day, no I’m going to have to give this a go Chris! Thanks so for all you do for us, Thank and hugs SHARON!💜💞😘😘😫😫😫😫😫
I don't think I've seen you use a hot foil machine but I imagine the magnetic pickerupper (technical term!) would work for picking up that die to press it into the ink pad. Knowing me, I would end up with ink everywhere. Great technique. I've used my dies for embossing but hadn't thought of turning it over, inking, embossing, and then adding the die cut. I love how your mind works. So glad you're back.
Several people have mentioned using a magnet, I think it's a great idea, I'll have to try it, I have two pairs of magnetic tweezers, one from my Glimmer machine the other from Crafters Companion. I'll see if I can be as accurate with them.! 😊
Hello! I just love your cards. They are all very simple, yet elegant. I've been watching your videos for a while and comment on face book when I can. I'm usually watching RU-vid on my t.v. upstairs so I can't usually comment. I really look forward to your videos and when I open RU-vid and see one, it's always the first one I watch. Thank you so much for all you share. Peg Z.
Love your idea of using dies for letterpress ... what a brilliant idea! I'll need to try this technique too. There is a similar Merry Christmas die from Impression Obsession that some viewers may like. Thank you for your video and sharing this technique.
Really pretty. I love the solid embossed snowflake & then the delicate piece on top. Wow!! I’ve never seen anyone else do that. What a great idea. And I love the font of the Merry Christmas die. I’ll have to see what I’ve got in my stash. Thank you for sharing this wonderful technique.
This is the first video I saw of yours and since that time you have been such an inspiration! I had to come back for another look today and it's still one of my favorites. Thanks, Christine!
I have never done this, or even seen it being done before. I have many snowflake dies, so I'm thankful you demonstrated this technique. I can send snowflake cards to friends who have no interest in my faith-based offerings for Christmas. Your card is beautiful, Christine. 💕🇨🇦💕
Y'know, I've only got one memory box die, and it's a Christmas bauble and actually I really love it, I bought it back when dies were really expensive so it's a prized possession. I love the letterpress technique, stunning 😁
I don’t really understand why they have those strips even now… the colours are on the ends of the boxes anyway, I have mine stacked in a unit and I can see all the colours…Odd isn’t it! Thank you for your lovely comment!
Wow! I haven’t a clue how I found you but I only just have and I’m very glad I have too! Inspirational. Now it seems I have 12 years of videos to catch up on!! I look forward to learning more and more thank you Denize 🇬🇧
So I didn't even know about letterpress! Awesome new technique to this newbie. Can't really make the color work but I have many different attempts underway. As always thanks for helping me along my creative journey.
Stunning just lovely card. I will be looking forward to giving this technique a go. Thank you Christine for sharing your beautiful ideas with us. So happy you had a relaxing holiday with your husband.
@@Chrissieannie - I would love to see what you would do with bird feathers and dried flowers. I have plenty of both, and, need some ideas. I have a bunch of tiny, fluffy, all white turkey feathers. My pet turkey is molting her summer feathers; for her winter ones to come in. Do you have a happy mail address? I would be more than happy to send you a few (and a couple other goodies).
I really like the look of this technique. Tfs. I was thinking if I line up the die on the little square and emboss it without ink, it should be easy enough to then ink the die, drop it into the spot I embossed, and run it through again with the ink on. No fiddling trying to line it up and risking a trail of ink all over the place.
This looks absolutely amazing. I’m going to go have a play in my craft room before I forget to try this!!! We’re past June, so it’s not too soon to start planning Christmas cards!!! (Actually, I think my first task will be to check to make sure I have any solid backed dies in my stash! My first try may not be a Christmas theme after all.) Love that soft blue color.
I have some snowflake dies with solid back, various sizes too, I think. (not in my art room at the moment) this is an awesome use of them...by themselves, the die cuts look a bit 'lost' but with the letter press technique, it gives them some weight or balance...Thank you! I shall make use of this video! Blessings.
@@Chrissieannie These videos are such a blessing. Oftentimes, we don't realize how we can make multiple use of our tools and equipment and by others sharing their experiments, their trial and error, we learn and grow. No one can make enough cards to care for everyone's needs. There is room for all in card making. It's not competition, it's cooperation that matters. Bless you, for sharing this.
so glad i discovered your tutorials, you have such great ideas and simple tricks. i noticed you dont list your supplies, do you have a list of some of the companies you get your dies and such from?
Many of the products I use I have had for some time, lots are no longer available. If I know that something is still in production I try to add a link but with an audience from all around the world, where things might be sourced from can vary greatly. I hope that my videos will give ideas for crafters to create their own versions rather than using exactly the same things. If there's is something specific you want to know about i'd be happy to tell you the brands if I can remember it! 😄
Hi. Oh, this is such an elegant looking card. The style, the colour, the dies, I love everything about it. Beautiful, just beautiful! I also like your homemade spray board and I think I'll have a bash at making one of those but I'll probably need to add a bit of a hood to it so that it's more like a portable mini spray booth, if you know what I mean. Thank you for sharing your skills and ideas, it's all wonderful.
