@@BakerBuilds it happen s bro jjiji ... I have a RU-vid channel in Spanish, I do bass fishing and saltwater fishing.I started it 2 months ago the name is j.c 153 fishing can I feature your lure in my channel ??
Watched this video when you first uploaded. Circled back to it. Getting to go down to Florida and I am going to make this lure to take with me. Your paint job on this particular lure was really good. I am going to add some hints of laguna blue on mine, real subtle. Thanks for the pattern!
Thank you for the Video and stencil, learned a lot from making your lure, as mine was no where near your quality it's probably the best I have done, really enjoyed it.😊
Dude I've been waiting for this video for soooooooo long, and I love how in the beggining you made the boring old coping saw techniuqe look awsome! LOL!
Zach, you did such a good job on this lure. It sure would be great to see more builds like this, especially since it is in the Channel's name. I really like the process of creating a lure, but don't watch very many 'painting only' videos. That's why I came back and re-watched this one!
Job about shaping taill is wright, Simple an great way. Resto of it is like you have to have this, then, then this which which cost good money and space. It could be done on much more simple and chippers way. At end ended there is good idea how to make tail simple and wright. Good job !
First to your channel - great job on both content and delivery. I’ve been wanting to do my own glide bait so this is perfect. I’ll look through your videos but would clove to see how it swims. Thank you. Subscribed and👍
Nice! I have been going to build a much smaller version to have a 2 piece jointed minnow for destroying the creek this summer. I need to get on it. Your lure turned out great!
Thanks for the video and the stencil. Ive been gathering supplies for a while and am about to start my first attempt. Could you tell me how deep I need to drill the lead holes. I have the same forstner bit that you so. I really appreciate this and your other videos. I would never have been willing to try without them!
Never seen ya before but killer video. I'm an avid angler and this is a tip that'll save big money....some of those glide baits cost 100s of dollars, making it impossible for a blue collar guy to even use
Another awesome video bro. I just downloaded that stencils and I'd definitely be extremely keen on 1 of your stencils packs as well if I can get my hands on one
Awesome - 👏👏👏👏Thank you so much for these videos and your shares! I have a wooden shad that I am working on. I used your pattern and my artistic license a bit but followed the pattern pretty close... - this is my first one out of wood and I am using all hand tools. Could you help me find the right hardware? I am not sure what to use to make the jointed swim bait? I have some eye hooks but I see that there may be something better. Thank you in advance for any and all advice...🙏
Incredibly informative build video, very well put together and produced, I have never built a swim bait this actually may make me try lol, the only question I have is, how did you determine the amount of lead in each hole?
Thank you! Trial and err for the weight until I got it right lol. I have a ton of test baits I did until I got this pattern down. Only thing you might do differently is add less weight in each hole if your wanting it to sink slower. Each piece of wood is different and more so when it’s hadcarved. You can drill out some weight after if you want it to sink slower 👌
Bro Baker, I just subscribed… great job on your video… I like that you teach each step. By the way can you tell me what size and kind of hooks 🪝 etc.. I’d love to have this swim bait!!!… do you do giveaways??!! :D
Hey bro just have a question for you if that's ok, what brand of a lead melting pot are you using? because I want to buy one to make my lure making soooo much easier instead of trying to work if out with split shot sinkers
Really enjoyed the video. Looking forward to your paint job. I've been messing around with making gliders lately, and never seem to get the weighting just right. Out of curiosity, how deep do you drill? And is the amount of lead critical to the action? Keep the great videos coming!
Different amounts of weight and placement can make a huge difference in the action, especially if your trying to make a suspending bait. I’m drilling in just over a 1/4”. All depends on the action you want. I’m still experimenting with different weight placements haha
@@BakerBuilds thank you. I've been doing the same. I just can't seem to get consistent results. I'm not sure if it's because wood can vary piece by piece, or if I'm removing more wood from one to another, or what... It's frustrating at times!

Dont use tungsten putty! I tried on a few of my first ones and it eventually caused problems. When I first saw the stuff I was like this stuff is perfect. But when it's in your bait and it's a warm summer day, the epoxy gets softer. That means it can move around easily and whatever you used to seal it in will start to fail.
So far I have never had one pull out. I have bent hooks or bent the eyelet but never one coming out. Definitely a matter of how much epoxy you can get inside 👍
A lot less time when I’m not trying to film it haha. Hard to tell on the time, I work on them on and off in the evenings. Excluding dry time on things, I know I could get one out in an afternoon. All depends on the detail your adding I guess haha
Hi man I had a quick question if you could drop some knowledge on me please. For all of these baits you paint, would it work the same on metal spoons and other metal baits? That’s what I am wanting to paint. Thank you.
I haven’t tried painting metal baits yet. But experience with painting other metal I would say you need a slightly roughed up surface for the paint to stick and a good clear coat. Not much help lol. I do see people doing that all the time tho. Definitely something I want to try 👍
that diagonal cut that you made on the wood glide bait is not a 45 if it were it would cut into the hole where the lead goes. Im talking about where the bait is segmented. You mention that it was a 45 in video ,
hey baker, i messaged you on instagram a while back as adrenaline fishing, and here i am again, i just wanted to know what the best way is to wire a lure for the hooks and splitrings
You skipped the part I was waiting to see. And that was how you fasten the links between the two segments. And by the looks of it, being that the end is one of the most watched parts of the video, I wasnt the only one
Hi mate when I print the template you provided on here the fish comes out at 4" and the top and bottom templates 4 1/2 " don't suppose you know what I'm doing wrong do you lol thanks in advance
The top and bottom portion of the template needs to be longer due to the curve of the bait. Not sure if that makes sense but when I had them all at 4” the top and bottom wouldn’t reach front to back when glued down 🤙
@@BakerBuilds oh I see so it's nothing I'm doing wrong then mate ive started chopping bits of wood up so if I can I'll post the finished lure here wish me luck lol 🤞😅
Absolutely super glue works. Just a few drops and that thing is stuck in there forever. I tested it out a bunch of times on scrap wood. I however still use the epoxy because that's what I started out using. I even tried it on a piece of straight, smoth wire with no threads on it and not twisted. That too is permanently in a piece of scrap wood.
@@seanp9157no. Hinkle Shad is a Shad profile like the name says but much bigger than this bait. It’s also a resin bait. Would need to build a mold. Too much tinkering for me to get it perfect. That’s why they are expensive.
You can drill hole on side of the lure and put small leed weight and use hot glue gun to feel that hole with weight. Level that extra glue whit send oapit and that is it. No especial tool or machine .And is is oerfect
