For anyone that doesn't have cake flour or doesn't want to buy it, an easy sub is all-purpose flour with corn starch. Take one cup of all-purpose flour, remove 2T of it and replace it with 2T cornstarch. So for this recipe, remove 5T flour and replace with 5T corn starch. Do not forget to whisk it together well. For grams: 1 cup sifted cake flour (100 grams) can be substituted with plus 2 tablespoons (15 grams) cornstarch.

Love the way you hang your copper pots and pans. I am redoing my kitchen. I put red brick for the back splash and doing blue, white and copper pieces in my kitchen. Also I have a large wide kitchen window that is recessed and am putting in glass shelves to have lil pits of herbs, flowers etc on window shelves. So excited. Gotta love these recipes he puts out, I’ve made my dad countless oatmeal raisin cookies, and his new personal favorite the carrot cake from here as he’s requested it this coming Sunday for his birthday. Every time there’s a new recipe I have to check it out. Now if I could only figure out a way to make the cinnamon rolls without a warming drawer since my oven won’t go below 170 degrees.

In response to the question you asked in a previous video, I do miss the longer intro. At first I loved this short one because we got to the recipe quicker but as a college student, I got emotionally attached to the longer version. It reminds me of home and is very comforting. If you decide to bring the longer intro back, I'd be so down for it, if not, carry on John I'll still be here

Love your videos! I have noticed the USA don't divide the batter into 3 like we do in Australia for a marble cake. We add a 3rd coloured with pink food colouring and sometimes flavoured with strawberry essence.

Made this today. The only thing I did different was adding a tablespoon of coffee and mixing it well with the chocolate chips melted. Just to bring out the chocolate flavor a little more. Came out excellent

Making the frosting is a bit difficult. Other than that after trying various other recipes, the cake turned out to be soft and delicious. This recipe is the best one so far.
