Easy Method for Cleaning Canvas Shoes - Vans Slip-Ons 

I just tried this but mixed it with the hydrogen peroxide to make a paste. I used this all over the entire show and even on the inside. This works so well. I used this to clean kids shoes. They look so good now.

Briii_g gren yep! If they have laces I’d soak the laces in the water h2o2 and baking soda mixture and then scrub the shoes separately.

Panda Corns I haven’t tried it on darker colored vans. I have some darker ones I could try. I’d say unless you’re really going to soak them for a long time it should be just fine. Just rinse and dry promptly.

@@M00NLYGHT yeah i did a while back and in some places of the shoe it just stained brown so i honestly dk ;-; like after i washrd it random parts appearead brown but i think it washes out isk

I have had the best luck drying them in the sun with something to absorb moisture like paper towels! No mildew smell. I think if you’re getting a mildew smell they might have stayed wet for too long like when you forget clothes in the washer.

Cloudy_Snoww Rblx shouldn’t fade the color! You might add some dish soap to the mixture if it’s muddy

Michael Buckmaster yes I think that would work pretty well! The only reason I avoid dish soap is because I feel like it’s harder to completely rinse out of the fabric without completely saturating the shoe and waiting longer to dry, but if you use a concentrated soap in small quantities I think you’d have good results! Let me know how it turns out!

Ok so the dawn dish soap didn’t really work it just gets out really small stains

Michael Buckmaster if you’re looking to an alternative for the hydrogen peroxide you can try baking soda and vinegar! It’s great at killing odors too. It just foams up a lot so it can be kinda messy. And yes you can dry the shoes indoors, that’s what I did and it worked pretty well they were mostly dry after sitting overnight.

Should work with any color!

I wouldn’t think drying them in the sun would turn them yellow but it could definitely fade the material if you put them out there too long. I dried mine inside and didn’t notice any fading/yellowing

Baking soda is necessary

Works well on any kind of vans, I have all white and colored. I dry the canvas with towel or paper towel and let dry indoors, I heard the sun may fade the colors or yellow white shoes.

Grease stains are tricky! I'd glob a bunch of Dawn Dish Soap on there, let is sit, and scrub!

They shouldn’t fade unless you leave them out in the sun too long to dry or something

If you’re worried about fading, sub out dish soap for hydrogen peroxide!

Sure, just be careful about using any heat like from a blow dryer, it could shrink the fabric. But you could totally put them in front of a fan or something to speed up the drying process

I would only use suede cleaner on suede its really easy to ruin

Lil Peep enough to make a paste so it depends on how much baking soda. I’d say try a 2:1 ratio and add liquid as you need to get he consistency you want! So if you use two tablespoons of baking soda use one tablespoon of h2o2

It should work on any type of canvas shoe! I’d try a different method if they’re leather or anything like that. I’ve also never tried this on vans with a design printed onto them. Like the roses or the Disney collection and what not. I’d just be careful with the scrubbing if there’s a printed design that’s not part of the canvas material.

Mine are the Vans x Project Cat Comfycush Era, Discovery Project Cat/Tiger. They have a white background with tigers and teal tropical leaves on them. You'll see what I mean by the photos. Do you think I could get away with washing my shoes with only the baking soda and water? Would using only those two ingredients brighten my shoe back to the original colors? Right now all the colors including the white especially are pretty dull. The white looks a tad grey. I'm worried if the hydrogen peroxide will fade the colors (example: the tigers and tropical leaves) or will they not?.
