This video was a ife saver!!!I had thrifted a pair of Steve Madden shoes for insanely cheap but their soles were yellow.I applied bleach and baking soda mixture and allowed to sit them in the Sun.This worked like magic 💖
The Soft Scrub worked the best for my aged air force 1's, i can still tell the difference between my current af1's vs. a very brand new pair, but they are still very white and i am impressed! thanks for this tutorial! took me 3 cleanings and 3 days, 1 per day. (edit) now forward one month later and i do realize that the soles do turn yellow again (could be due to the bleach in Soft Scrub), I am not sure how it is for anyone else, but it seems like this fix isn't a permanent solution but it is still a very good option to whiten those yellow soles! my af1's are still wearable outside with good outfits paired with them, though i am thinking of getting a brand new pair to break in!
After they turn yellow again, can’t we just keep repeating the process we saw in this video to keep making them white again? Or will they go yellow forever after bleaching them a first time?
because bleachh isn't a good option. you should use solan care 40 to whiten the soles. same process, Saran wrap, in the sun, but just salon care 40 instead of bleach. bleach is notoriously famous for turning yellow after exspore to sun. it's has something in how the bleach works, although I'm not a scientist
Thank you for this video! I used Bleach and Baking Soda to make a paste and let it sit with cling-wrap wrapped around them like you showed in the video. I repeated this process four times (because mine were suuuper yellow) and they look so much better! I didn't use a specific ratio, but I used more baking soda than I did bleach. I would say the ratio was 2 parts baking soda, 1 part bleach.
Don't... Bleaching actually makes it yellow. That's what happened to mine. I bleached it instead of using ordinary soup and after two times using bleach it started getting yellow
Nice! I've seen a couple of other vids and tik toks, but this was the first one mentioning to give it a couple of days. I'm on day one still, and I started with gold soles. Big difference, but i still have a ways to go.
That's all very well, but what do you do if you live in the UK, where there's no sun for 80% of the year and you'll struggle to bake anything under a sky that's perpetually grey? Can you bake them in the oven?
I used 30vol developer and blue bleach powder. Make a paste, apply to sole, cover with cling flim and leave it for a few hours, I kept it indoors cause I don't have access to direct sunlight. The soles became white than new! :D
@@vampiresexparty in the sense I don't have a balcony where I could keep the shoes or a window sill. I'd have to leave my shoes somewhere outside the building :p
I tried the bleach and banking soda method on super yellow soles and after one pass it’s so much cleaner. Almost coke white again. Will do one or two more
@@cherushi1123 I didn't measure the ratio sorry. I just added some bleach to a plastic container and then enough baking soda that it became a thick paste. I think the ratio is not too important. I think i did need to use quite a lot of baking soda. Hope that helps.
I did this method with toothbrush but then I forgot to chuck the toothbrush and I used it later to brush my teeth? They where yellow will they go white?
okay hear me out here, but how hot does it need to be outside to bake? its a little chilly now and is it the sunlight or the heat cuz im a little unlear. thanks
