Delicious! I just made it, I didn't get a strong clam flavor, but I think I'll add another bottle of clam juice in the future. I watched a few videos, and the steps were all the same. I think this will be even better tomorrow. I can't get enough, and I will 100% make it again! 😋
This is exactly how I make my clam chowder. I love this recipe! Sometimes I will thicken with crackers instead of flour, but either way is Amazing! I think I'm going to make it this weekend!!!
Oh my...I made chowder with fish fillets, this afternoon. I have canned clams but am trying to clear out the freezer. I used odds-and-ends of veggies from the fridge and freezer, in addition to my red potatoes....and a generous pinch of cajun seasoning...My chowder was fairly thin, which was good since it was crazy warm here today, and I didn't want anything really heavy, for dinner........I love your recipe and will save it. By the way....."Better Than Bouillon" has both a Fish and Clam Base available. Both are very good, in my opinion...I used the Clam Base today.

I made a very light fish and shrimp stew that will go up in a couple of weeks for you guys. It has a tomato and fennel broth and is not as heavy as this. I really appreciate you stopping by!
Ya it Looks Good i' might Leave Out the CLam juice & Use Chicken Broth & Drain about 55%bacon Fat, & it wouldn't hurt To Add 😊Another can Of CLams, bye
I live on the coast of Washington state so I dig my own razor clams. They are very large and meaty. I've used various thickening agents including instant mashed potato flakes or buds. They worked very well. Russet potatoes tend to fall apart whereas new potatoes or Yukon Gold keep their shape better. It all depends on what you like.

Looks good, it doesn't really matter when you add the clams but I do find when you add them early it gives a bit more clam flavour which I love, I also use chicken stock, my girlfriend doesn't like clams but like the taste of the soup, so when she wants clam chowder I will just use 4 bottles of that clam juice and add extra vegetables and potato, great video

I became a believer of this clam soup after tasting😋 but I didn't plan to eat this, it was a scary thing for me. smart lady. I do not no how many times I have seen people take and toss out bacon greese when they should have left it in for flavor and frying. some people do not understand a little bacon grees no no worst for you then the margerien they replace it with.
Made this today. Not bad at all. Think my bacon was strong or I used too much because I mainly taste bacon with a hint of clams. Next time I'll reduce the bacon and liquid and double the clams and potatoes. Thanks for sharing
I made this and it was so good. The only thing i added was some carrots but the bacon just made it even better!thank u so much for this recipe my family was in love with it as well
+Karla Palacios I used heavy whipping cream for this recipe. If you want it to be less thick you can use simple whipping cream. It will work out deliciously. Thank you!

Our beaches have been closed for clam digging for the past year, first because of Covid and now because of high bacterial count in the clams. I tried making chowder with canned clams and it didn't come close to mine made with freshly dug razor clams.
