TO INSTALL:
Open your Asset Browser, hit create, then import asset, and then you should be able to click on the .rar or zip file of voxeliner, and it should add it! Then you can just search for it in the asset browser and double click it to add it to your scene.

at 18:30 my matrix particles are not simulating with voxeliner particles, everything sims expect those matrix particles... if I go to like at frame 40 and I switch my matrix from object to grid and again to objects then they got the position of voxliner but still they doesn't sim after hitting play... any solutions pls

Hi there! Thank you for the tutorial, this is very powerful. I'm trying to install the voxeliner generator but if i follow you guides it says "Skipped Assets (because already existing as latest version). But if i search for it i don't find nothing. I'm woking with cinema 4d 2023.2.0 Thank you a lot

hmmm. I'll research and see if I can find anything. If anything, I'd try deleting 'voxeliner' from your asset browser (if anything at all shows up), and delete the files as well. Then try a fresh install and add to the asset browser. If that doesnt work, I wonder if its an issue with using C4D 2023. Im on 2024. Let me see what I can look up though!

No ''fields'' tab under the Attractor force C4d 2024.1.0 version is bugged, latest updates will fix it.

Hi Jess. How long did it take you to render the 300-400 frames?? On my 6GB RAM and RTX 4080 a single frame is taking upto 1 min or more. Nothing crazy on the setting as well. Its set to medium quality

Hi Manish! I always aim to have my frames render out at 30s-1min range if I can. That's not always ideal quality, but for my own patience level, it's what I stick to. That is likely what I did as well in this scenario. So in total, It probably took a few hours for the full series of images to render out! I have an NVIDIA 3060ti !

Thank you for the good Dutorial. I'm using octane user. By using voxellinear, particle expression was successful in viewport. However, there is no RS metric be cause im a Octane, so I applied it as a metric, but it is not visible in the octane render. Please tell me if there is a solution.!!

Hmmm. I don't know if I can personally help, just because I only use redshift! However I'd research if there's an alternative to the RS option. Or - reach out to subframe studio (mikhail sedov, the one I mentioned in the intro; his comment is also pinned). He uses both redshift and octane i believe, so he might be able to help!

That happens by applying a glass material with full transmission weight onto the spheres/bubbles before working on anything else! That way it will be clear in the viewport as you setup the simulation. :)

Cool stuff, thanks for the vid. Anyone knows how to visualize the particles in octane in a "light" way? Like maybe not cloning spheres into the line vortex..but something else..

If octane has a scatter feature like redshift's matrix scatter, you can proabably pull the voxeliner into there. Not sure though! I don't personally use Octane, sorry!

Follow these steps if you're experiencing issues with the random colors! You don't need to worry about the skipped assets message, if you got that when installing Voxeliner. That should be followed with a message that still says 'imported asset by kaktak' or something like that. For coloring - make sure you've done the following: 1. Your random effector is showing in the 'effectors' tab in your Redshift Matrix, if it isn't, the random effector isn't doing anything at all, so you need to drag it in there. 2. Make sure the parameter on the random effector is just 'Fields Color' under the Color settings. 3. Go to the fields tab in the Random Effector, and add your 'random' or 'shader' field here. You can do either. In the tutorial, I did random. You could also JUST do a shader field, and pick the noise you want to use in the 'field' tab. However, if you do random, you'll need to follow the additional step in the video I believe to have the color-use-data node in the node editor that looks at the random effector to reference. 3. Make sure regardless if you do random or shader for the field, you head to the 'color remap' tab that will show up, and you select 'gradient' in the color mode dropdown. 4. also just as a last double check, make sure the three color circles are selected/enabled on the field you're using. It shows in the 'fields' tab on the random effector as three overlapping circles, besides the blending mode box. By default, they're probably grey. If you click on it, it will show in color. @virtuallyvisual Thank you beautiful Jess for all your help. I donno what’s up with my Mac and or C4D I reinstalled C4D and Redshift and reinstalled the update voxeliner_1_0_2-2 and double checked all of the steps. The Voxeliner Particles are still not rendering out as animated however this time the particles are rendered in circle formations with color urgh outside of the animated spheres only. I’m working on Sonoma 14.4 (23E214) are you working on Windows on your mac. I double checked all the steps donno what the frack is going 😢🤷‍♀️so weird!

Also...how do install/import voxeliner generator into c4d? Sorry i have no experience with scene nodes.

Don't worry - you don't have to use scene nodes to use voxeliner! Once you download it, you just need to open your Asset Browser, hit create->import asset, and then you should be able to click on the .rar or zip file of voxeliner, and it should add it! Then you can just search for it in the asset browser and double click it to add it to your scene!

Amazing Tutorial! I am learning C4D and this was a lot of fun to create. I did run into one weird issue but it might just be my lack of knowledge. Whenever I cache the scene in Voxeliner the small grey particles move but the large white squares do not follow their placement. When I move the frame in the Redshift render view the bubbles move but the particles always render in the exact same space on all frames. Not to sure if you ran into this issue 😋

I also had experienced this! What i've noticed is theres just a massive lag between the redshift matrix updating. For some reason if I would go to a frame in the cache, then maybe like, click the redshift matrix in the layers panel, then the particles would update to the correct spot. I think its a viewport issue of some sort - just because I was able to render this out and the frames would in fact update correctly. But if you try rendering and you're still experiencing this let me know!

Thank you @@virtuallyvisual! It seems to be happening when I render as well. The particles render out in the exact same space on multiple frame, even tho I cache the scene. I even started a new file and went through the steps again and it still seems to be giving me a little trouble.

@@OddLoot @virtuallyvisual Are you using a mac by any chance. My particles are not showing up in the render only the clear spheres / bubbles and I did this before the update it didnt work then after the update. I also updated voxeliner to the new update my scene is cached too dont know why particles are not animating or showing up in the render 😢let me know if you find a solution please I would appreciate it

not sure - i dont' have octane, and im not sure if there's a regular matrix object without redshift. There's gotta be a way to use voxeliner though maybe in a cloner instead somehow!

What do you mean? Can you describe further? The voxeliner tool I mention in the video (and description) is used with other geometry to create points within that specific shape. So if you pull any shape geometry under/into the voxeliner object in the layers panel, it will fill that shape with points. Like in the video with my spheres.

You mean use a more complicated shape to put inside the Voxeliner? That can work! Anything you put in Voxeliner will put dots within that shape! Or are you talking as a collider?

Amazing tutorial, thanks. I have an issue. Even though I followed all the steps in the video exactly, when I try to render, all particles stay still. In my Redshift Renderview and viewport I can see them flying around. How can I fix that?

@@arichardi Solution is: do not use Matrix Scatter. Use Redshift Object Tag instead of Matrix Scatter. In Redshift Object Tag go to Curve -> Mode -> Capsules. Change Thickness value and done. ☺

Amazing video!! For some reason my particles still stay together after I do the Matrix Scatter, they don't fly around. Any chance you know how to solve this??

me too, I think it has to do with the caching - mine didn't cache so I carried on with the tutorial, but the particles just stay in the same place.

@@mogaro7525 same.. I didn't end up rendering because I noticed even with everything doing correctly, it stays the same. Each time I reopen C4D, the animation would move then stuck somewhere again.

Hi! I love the tutorial but unfortunately I can't use Random colors with Voxeliner - I guess the problem is with the asset as while I was importing it showed smth about "Skipped assets"... so frustrating!

Strange! Okay. I'm going to try recreating my tutorial, but i'm going to delete voxeliner and reinstall so I can freshly go through and see if I experience this as well. Just so i'm aware - what device are you using, and which version of Cinema 4D? I'll get back to you shortly!
