It's pretty sweet to have my Venus apron back in the kitchen! And you know what else is sweet? This 3-ingredient peach cobbler in the crockpot! And besides this amazing play on words, or at least, play on words, the other thing they have in common is they are both deals. How's that? Oh, thanks for asking, I will tell you.
The Venus apron got fixed by a local seamstress for the bargain and deal of a price of $7.00. This peach cobbler has three ingredients, and when you get to the cash register, $7 or less. No, your eyes are not going bad. That is correct. $7 or less for this crockpot dessert! I mean, deal. Am. I. Right?

Load of Crock's 12 Month's of Giving: February 2020 challenge:
For the month of February I have been focusing on heart health. February is American Hearth Month as well as Go Red for Women, and it is near and dear to me because of both; hearts and women. Two years ago in the month of February, my mother had a heart attack. A woman in good cardiovascular shape, super active, and only in her 60s. It reminded me how important our hearts are and that like any muscle, they need to be exercised and used to remain strong as we age. We are blessed that she lived and now I am a little smarter about my heart and heart health. But not everyone's story ends like my mom's; heart disease and strokes cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year. This is more than all cancers combined. Knowing good heart health, for both men and women, and understanding signs of heart attacks and/or strokes, can be the difference.
My challenge has been twofold this month. I have committed to better heart health, working to get some type of cardio in each day that pushes my heart a little as well as educating myself on signs and symptoms so I can pay better attention to my own heart and health. I have also made a donation to the American Heart Association. My and all others' donations help researchers in identifying more effective treatment for heart disease and also helps train first responders in cardiovascular care. I am including two links below; one that you can go to in order to better understand the signs and symptoms of heart attacks and strokes, as well as a link to donate to the American Heart Association should you decide to do so. Simply educating yourself and your friends and family can truly save a life. Knowing the signs and symptoms and being able to recognize them can be the difference of someone's outcome. Happy heart health month!

Love this simple take on cobbler. I’ve made peach, strawberry and apple. All are great! We eat it for dessert, for breakfast with our coffee or for a snack. Soooooo good!!

i used regular peach slices instead of pie filling. anyone know if this would work just as good?

I am so sorry for not getting to this comment/question sooner. I have not used peach slices vs. pie filling, but could imagine it’s very good! If you ended up trying it, I would love to hear how that turned out. Thanks so much for watching, trying, and asking the question!

Well this is good to know, thank you for the follow up, so sorry it didn’t work out! If you try again, and there are other fruits you enjoy more, any pie filling works- our family’s favorite has become strawberry. Thanks so much again for the follow up!

I made this in a crock pot and it was way to doughy. I think the cake mix should probaly be cut back to half a box or a 3rd, if you are not going to bake bake it.
@LoadofCrockwithBetsy
@LoadofCrockwithBetsy Год назад
Sorry to hear it was too doughy for your liking. When I use two cans of fruit filling, I have found the full box of cake mix to be the perfect amount and ratio to go with the amount of filling, but completely appreciate everyone has different likings, especially for things like this. Thanks very much for trying the recipe and taking the time to share your feedback. Have a great weekend!

Hi Chang, thanks for watching and asking! This has been a great amount for 6-8 adults, depending on how much each person has. It’s also really good as leftovers, if for less than this. If you make, would love to know how it goes. Thanks again, have a great week!

Can’t wait to try this.. Does it give u that crust taste still?
@LoadofCrockwithBetsy
@LoadofCrockwithBetsy 4 года назад
Yes. Be sure to just let it cook as is and don’t mix it up at all while cooking. And the longer you let it cook, the crustier/more cooked the cake mix topping will be, so you can do to your liking. Enjoy! This is one of my fave crockpot desserts, strawberry is fantastic too. And thanks for trying and asking!
