It's pretty sweet to have my Venus apron back in the kitchen! And you know what else is sweet? This 3-ingredient peach cobbler in the crockpot! And besides this amazing play on words, or at least, play on words, the other thing they have in common is they are both deals. How's that? Oh, thanks for asking, I will tell you.
The Venus apron got fixed by a local seamstress for the bargain and deal of a price of $7.00. This peach cobbler has three ingredients, and when you get to the cash register, $7 or less. No, your eyes are not going bad. That is correct. $7 or less for this crockpot dessert! I mean, deal. Am. I. Right?

Load of Crock's 12 Month's of Giving: February 2020 challenge:
For the month of February I have been focusing on heart health. February is American Hearth Month as well as Go Red for Women, and it is near and dear to me because of both; hearts and women. Two years ago in the month of February, my mother had a heart attack. A woman in good cardiovascular shape, super active, and only in her 60s. It reminded me how important our hearts are and that like any muscle, they need to be exercised and used to remain strong as we age. We are blessed that she lived and now I am a little smarter about my heart and heart health. But not everyone's story ends like my mom's; heart disease and strokes cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year. This is more than all cancers combined. Knowing good heart health, for both men and women, and understanding signs of heart attacks and/or strokes, can be the difference.
My challenge has been twofold this month. I have committed to better heart health, working to get some type of cardio in each day that pushes my heart a little as well as educating myself on signs and symptoms so I can pay better attention to my own heart and health. I have also made a donation to the American Heart Association. My and all others' donations help researchers in identifying more effective treatment for heart disease and also helps train first responders in cardiovascular care. I am including two links below; one that you can go to in order to better understand the signs and symptoms of heart attacks and strokes, as well as a link to donate to the American Heart Association should you decide to do so. Simply educating yourself and your friends and family can truly save a life. Knowing the signs and symptoms and being able to recognize them can be the difference of someone's outcome. Happy heart health month!
