I made this for the second time today and my friends were impressed. To be honest I originally thought the peanut better frosting would be overkill on the peanut butter flavor but the two are different enough that they work beautifully together. Thanks for posting this!!

I made these today, but I also added 1 mashed banana to it and it was delicious! 10/10 would recommend, I'm sure they would also work with chocolate and/or berries

I love your videos and recipes! Especially all the chocolate, cheesecakes, and peanut butter stuff 😍 Plus, the way you talk and your mannerisms make it feel like a friend is just helping me cook really good food. Just like a really genuine, kind person who would make you some cookies if you're having a bad day or the friend who makes sure that you're eating, and if not, they'd whip you up something real quick but you can taste the love in the food lol
I'm allergic to peanuts as well, but if you have some way of acquiring Wowbutter, it is the perfect substitute! The texture, smell and look is that of genuine peanutbutter, but it's made of chickpeas. I've tried many of John's peanutbutter recipes with this fake peanutbutter and they came out great and delicious. :)
Turned out great, with sm crisp edges~ Had sm 18% fat sour cream which didnt quite have the water content for this so leveled it out w sm greek youghurt. Batter was still rather thick, thinned it out w a dash of 35% cream folded in. Got to admit that only 4/5th of the sugar was put in, couldn't help myself. Had to run before I could make the icing so tried it w sm of that high fat sour cream and the tang was peeeerfect. Will definitely be making these again~
These are my notes now 😅. Trial 2 switched out sour cream for kefir (3.2 % m.f.) and milk for whipping cream (35% mf). The sugar still cut to 4/5th (around 200g). Half were baked in madeleine tins -- looks cute, really need to use the tin more often, any sponge/chiffon should technically work out fine; the tops of these were (unfortunately) pale while the ribbed bottoms a nice caramel brown and there's only so much wiggle room these when it's so thin at the edges.
I love this recipe! I can't wait to make it. Have you ever or ever wanted to make a crock-pot chocolate cake btw? The kind that uses a cup of real mayonnaise? I love that cake so much. So rich and moist. Chocolate Fudge Cake (Crock-Pot Bread'n Cake Bake pan recipe) 2 cups of flour 1 egg 1 cup of real mayonnaise 1 cup of hot water 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/2 cups sugar 1/4 tsp salt 6 tbl cocoa Stir together dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add remaining ingredients and beat two minutes with an electric mixer. Pour into greased and floured Bread'n Cake pan and cover. Bake in covered crock-pot on High 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours or until done (I cook for 2 1/2 hours).
Yay! Thank you for a peanut butter recipe that doesn’t include chocolate! I love chocolate but sometimes it’s too dominant and I just want the peanut butter to shine.
Cupcakes are my weakness. I made these today for my family and they enjoyed them. I want to eat them so bad, but I won't because the peanut butter hurts me so bad. Thank you for the recipe, I may try this with Sunbutter next time. ☺️

Oh my this is amazing. I live in a high rise apartment building. We do birthdays once a month to celebrate the months birthdays. I’m the baker. This is on my list.

Those look so good and thank you for the share, John. I will have to try these soon. I would also try taking some of the center out and adding some chocolate ganache in the center and then do a chocolate drizzle on top. Voila... Reeses cupcakes too. 😜
Ok John. This by far is the best cupcake I've ever eaten. I cut back the brown sugar by 1/4 but otherwise the exact recipe and oh my goodness.. AND THAT FROSTING tho. 🤤 Best peanut butter frosting everrrr

You get it wrong, I tried with the natural peanut butter that have no sugar but little bit of oil that I also use in the recipe instead of normal oil and they delicious much better, very very rich in peanut buttery flavour. Very rich taste.

Thank youuuu ... It's a great cupcake batter, but the frosting was just toooo sweet for my liking ... I will definitely do it again, but I will change the frosting to less sugar and maybe add cream cheese to it ...
