2:18 I'd like to add that you can also use an x-acto knife to cut just the backing of the fur. This will minimize the loose fur you have to brush out and keep the pile consistent.
just a tip for anyone planning to cut fur: always use an exacto knife along the base fabric and avoid cutting the actual fur part, this will leave them looking more realistic and gives you less fur to clean up!
Thanks for the great tutorial - I used this today to make ears for a cosplay, and they look great! I amended it a bit to be part of a headband but it worked perfectly for that!
i made one ear so far, SUPER EASY, SUPER CUTE. I was too late ordering neko ears from ebay so I searched the diy internet ty for posting this they look identical even better than the ones being sold
I was curious, about how big are the ears? Or the outline for the ears? Because yours are the size I would like mine to be! Thank you for this amazing tutorial!
I have singer to! I did this and the ears turned out stunning, this is a good tutorial. this was great practice for me mostly because i'm new to sewing.
ee this wasn't the video i was looking for but !! this tutorial isn't half bad and i got some furs kicking around just waiting to be used! I'm thinking of making tiger ears first ^^ thank you for this lovely video~~ Not gonna lie, i was looking for a cheap foam cat ear diy but this is much better.
I enjoyed the video it was really help full nut I'm struggling with getting the initial shape for the template when i fold them they don't fold correctly
I like how you design the kitty ears it was so cute you made a good video on how you made kitty ears cuz I've been looking forward to buy kitty ears but now I see how you make kitty ears I can just make my own instead of actually buying ears thank you for the video
This is a really great tutorial. This is kind of how I make my cat ears, only I never have any faux fur to use for them =( But I have used fabric or construction paper =P I will have to try this one too. It would have been helpful it it werent so bright, and the white back ground made it hard to actually see what you were doing with all the materials. That is my only flaw about this though, I really enjoyed the tutorial style and great directions. =3
Great tutorial, I found it easy to watch and learn- but next time could you please do your stuff on a darker background? I tried everything on my laptop to make it easier on the eyes- white text on a light bg doesn't really work. That's bout it for a small hick up. :)
I'm really sad 😢, I don't know how to put the Amazon cosplay car ears onto the headband.... And there are no videos for it, just videos to make then. 😭😭😭😭😭
Is the inner ear a different size? I think I got lost at the tracing part again ;w; I thought it was the same size but when I flip them inside out they are always same size and one side is white while the other side is black lol. ^^"" Is there something Im doing wrong here to end up with them like that?? Halp pleaseee. D':
+ShadowwolfXFoxy Nope, they're the same size! They shouldn't end up being different sizes since you're using the same pattern for both sides of the ear, the only thing you're doing is using different colours :)
I actually got it right my second time around!! :D I think I may have cut my first one with more of the extra amount than the 2nd shape did! Thankyou so much for replying btw and taking the time helping explain it to me!! =^^=
