Hey man, this tutorial has been fantastic but I'm having trouble getting my gaming PC audio into OBS on my streaming PC. I can hear everything perfectly fine in my headphones on both PC's, but I'm stumped. I followed the tutorial completely and even watched part 2 for OBS. I have every setting you've shown in routing, any ideas? Thanks again.
In OBS make sure the source for game audio is Audio INPUT Capture, Microphone (RCP2 Main Stereo). I’m guessing you used Audio OUTPUT Capture instead, maybe? Let me know.
thank you for this tutorial! this really helped me set up my OBS the way it should be. super easy to follow, i had to factory reset a few times, and i always come across this vid to fix the setup again. :D
Hey there is no one that explains it in so much detail, but in very simplistic terms! You are a goat! God bless you sir, you def deserve million plus views!!!
I have watched at least a dozen vids about this device, yours is hands down the best and the only one that explains in language that someone who is technically smart but audiologically dumb like me how to set this shit up. Been melting my brain for 2 days trying to figure out the audio on my new 2 box stream setup. Your vid convinced me this device does what I want and exactly how to make it work. Rhode owes you a sale commission my friend. Not just for this but for the midi tutorial which eliminates the tablet running touch portal from my desk since I can easily set up macros to switch scenes and mute audio channels with 1 button. You sir are a national treasure and a god among men. Thank you.
Just a quick follow up as I got everything set up and was able to do a test stream. It works flawlessly. I had to do some tweaking with noise reduction, compressor and noise gate filters (probably due to my cheap condenser mic) but other than that I am thrilled. Not only is my audio spot on, but the new second box I built for the stream is rock stable. And with streaming duties taken off my game box I can stream while playing Cyberpunk 2077 at 4k raytracing overdrive settings at 80fps. Been needing this since I built my new gaming rig in January. Thank you again.
I've got a slightly different use case but I think what you have shown here will be very useful. I just wanted to say thanks for a very clear description - Much appreciated.
Seriously one of the best tutorials!! You cover all the bases with out any fluff! I went to Audio Engineering school and I was still having trouble figuring this out. Albeit I have a Apollo interface where all my sound goes to then out to my monitors and IEMS/Headphones. But yeah man AMAZING job!
Thanks for the video. Read through the comments and saw you mentioned to have the main mix as an input. Threw Main Stereo on Mic/Aux 2 and boom! Gaming PC Audio is coming through to OBS. Props brutha.
Definitely a great vid. I'm using the streamer x, with rode unify, and I think you just solved my voice echo in some people's mics on call of duty. Also the simple explanation of routing just gave me a better understanding of what the heck is going on. Thank you for your time an effort on this video. I just started streaming and this was a great video.
this is a great video!!! im planning on grabbing the duo this month and now i feel more confident setting up a new mixer. im moving from the GOXLR and i feel like this was way easier to understand than when i was routing the GOXLR. Thank you for the work you did with this video.
Didn't expect to se NADESHOT here🤣but yes, I had the same problem as well. Your 1st troubleshoot you gave Nadeshot worked for me👍🏼 audio input etc. THANKS‼️
Just got mine last night and coming from an Elgato Wave XLR. Thank you for helping me to get things setup well on my Dual PC setup. Nice not running two audio cables from each computer to the other.
No problem. But don’t throw those cables away. Stay tuned for my next video coming this week where I show you how with those extra cables you can get complete control over your audio inputs and outputs while simplifying your OBS/Streamlabs audio config.
Have a weird issue@@ashy941 . For some reason with my DUO setup with my avermedia cap card, in OBS, it plays my cap card audio through the chat mic and I cannot figure out why. Have you seen this at all?
@@ashy941 The issue ended up being USB1 on the Rode DUO after 1 day stopped sending out Mic to either my stream PC or gaming one. So, sending back and have a new one coming tomorrow. Going to chalk it up as a faulty unit. I see my original post didn't take. I was getting cap card audio through chat mic and nothing for the mic.
@ashy941 dude I had my first dual pc stream last night & your tutorial was spot on. Had 0 issues. You're a life saver dude. I held back for so long but I'm glad I found your video. GG!
Hey I had to take the time to thank you for doing this. This made my entire setup a breeze. You went through everything step by step and I literally have a perfect audio setup now because of you. I liked, subbed, and I will always stay subbed no matter what because of how easy you made this for me. Thank you again!
Thanks man! I've been thinking about pulling the trigger on the rodecaster duo. Have not seen any tutorial on youtube doing what you just did. Good work!!
Awesome setup video. I know a lot of people are wanting more virtual channels for better control, like those coming from GoXLR as myself. A workaround I did for separating my game chat from main mix was using my line out on gaming PC and plugging that into my 2nd RodeCaster input as a line in so I can control it separately in my mix. Hope they just update firmware and add more USB audio channel sources.
Nice! Thanks for commenting, I’m sure someone will find this helpful. At a minimum, Rode could just add a USB2 Chat and they solve the problem you had to do with hardware. I hate having to run extra wires cuz it’s messy and noisy, even with ground loop isolators although viewers will never notice. I’m just weird that way LOL. I think the challenge they’ll have is adding scrolling to the display for the additional virtual inputs but once they solve for that, the sky’s the limit.
Great tutorial man. And that also answers some questions i had. Tho i really hope they beef up their software a little, because if there were one thing i would wish for, then its an additional audio channel-separation. So i could send in Game Audio and Browser Audio on two separate lines and could then work with them individually in OBS or SSSonar. I honestly thought they would go that far, considering that this is clearly an option for a dual USB connection, but that way USB2 kinda just works like a glorified Audio Jack with Mic input. :/
Great video! Thank you. This is going to be so helpful for lots of folks trying to setup dual pc steaming. The audio set up is the most challenging aspect of setting up a dual pc stream setup. Unfortunately for me, I'm using two separate audio interfaces, and just finally figured out how to set it up. That was a headache. Great job!
Hey! Watching this tutorial here. It's great until we get to the OBS settings. You show the mixer and the actual lines, but not what the Audio Settings are inside OBS. What Setting do I need to get my Gaming PC on my Streaming PC OBS? Is it a Microphone or Desktop Audio?
Hey back! Sorry, the video kind of assumes people were migrating from GoXLR and already have some familiarity with OBS so I didn’t get into how to actually set up OBS to stream. I got you…stay tuned.
Best rubbish of all the rubbish?…I’ll take it! Some additional info in Part 2 if you need it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5opSzVOdxkI.html&feature=sharec

I'm sure it has it in there. But i was confused about the following: How is he getting his discord separate from his microphone(chat). he's using APPLICATION AUDIO CAPTUIRE(BETA) in obs/streamlabs to add discord audio. It's not routed separately in obs USING the rodecaster. the rest you can use audio input capture.
Hi thx for the video idk if you showed how to add all the Chanel’s to OBS. That’s the problem I’m having I can’t add the RCP2 channel to obs I use the ASIO plugin for OBS but it doesn’t work. If you can tell me how you add you channel to obs. THX 🙏
Hmmm…not sure why it would be a problem but check out out Part 2 which shows how all of the audio sources are created in OBS from scratch: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5opSzVOdxkI.html&feature=sharec
awesome guide! ive had the procaster 2 pro for almost a year and havnt used it due to my inability to figure out the routing until this video, so thank you a ton! lol quick question though, if using this on a single pc setup, on the usb1 routing, would we only leave usb1 on and turn off usb2? if we only want game audio sent through the usb audio, and all voice audio through the chat routing?
Awesome explanation. I do have one question, how would I have discord and music (spotify) separate in SLOBS? Mine comes through as the stream PC desktop audio. TY for this video
@@ashy941 So I followed everything and all works, but SLOBS is not showing input from the gaming PC... I can hear it through my headphones connected to the RODEcaster but it is not registering. Any ideas? everything else shows music, discord, mic, stream PC - TY for any help in advance
Great thank you so much for the video everything works flawlessly now my question is if I decide no to turn on my streaming PC will I still be able to talk to discord without them hearing my game
I have discord installed on both PC's but I wanted to know if it was possible to be able to talk on discord while playing a game without the discord party hearing my game thru their headset or is there just no way
@@rayted3553 You have options. You can use a foot pedal and assign it to Push to Mute button in Discord (simple) or you can put Discord on a fader on the Rodecaster and hit the mute button (less simple). Those are two options at least.
hey man! if I'm recording in obs on the gaming pc, I get the clean mic signal from your tutorial, right? one channel is just mic and the other one is game audio, so I can record them separately
You have choices/flexibility in how to handle audio in OBS. This video is the simplest possible setup in Rodecaster but you have to configure more things in OBS. Alternatively, you can make the Rodecaster config more complex and simplify OBS. Check out my “Ultimate”. Video.
I have been waiting for this. I had to order an extra long usb c to c for my main to my stream pc. No longer do I have to set listen to elgato 4k60 pro. One other thing, can I use the usb 2 without my stream pc on, for when I don't want to stream?
This is awesome. Thanks mate. I have the GoXLR mini and will be changing to the RodeCaster Duo soon. My question is can you have a setting/preset where I can utilize all my usual audio I/O's (mic, game, Discord, Spotify etc.) without having to be running both my pc's when I'm not streaming and without having to physically change connections? My room can get quite hot with 2 pcs and 2 monitors, so if I don't need to have both on to game off stream I would prefer that. If I just want to game with friends off stream, I don't need to have 2 pc's running to use Discord etc.? I can have Discord and Spotify on my gaming pc for off stream stuff and also on the Streaming PC when I'm running Dual setup and maybe have some sort of preset that I can change depending on how many PCs are active. Hope that makes sense haha!
Yes, the configuration is stored on the device and power comes from an outlet, not either of the PCs. And yes, you can save different “shows” with different configuration settings, but you need a little memory card and it doesn’t come with one.
Thank you so much for all the help! but I am having a problem in obs When the audio comes from my game pc it comes from my mic in obs do you know how to fix that?
did all of this it worked for a while but now no audio from my gaming is making it to my streaming and my streaming audio isnt coming out the fader its suppose too
Hey man, i followed all of your routing settings and for whatever reason im getting this unwanted echo, i’ve resettled my RCP2 and tried re-configuring the routing however when i get rid of the echo, i can no longer pick up any audio to OBS on my streaming PC
I know you get this a lot but I’ve tried everything I could in all the comments and videos to be able to get my game pc audio to my stream pc with no luck /: I hope there is something else you got for me thank you in advance
1.) Check your output routing. Make sure USB2 is routing out USB1. 2.) In OBS make sure you’re using Audio INPUT Source (not OUTPUT) and that the selected device is Microphone RODECaster Main Stereo. If that doesn’t work join my discord and upload screen shots of your RcP2 routing and OBS audio sources.
Check out this video for OBS instructions. If you’re still having trouble let me know. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5opSzVOdxkI.html&feature=sharec
NDI is starting to become popular .. wish the rode caster comes with an update to add it like the Mackie Creator DLZ interface that has NDI two pc music streaming pc to pc .. Any thoughts?
Fantastic video! Thank you! I am considering picking up a RoadCaster to replace my GoXLR. One question I had is you have music on a dedicated input on OBS, how are you achieving that since I thought it was being routed on the PCAudio / RodeCaster Main Stereo? Are you using a virtual audio cable solution? I currently have music separated from my stream PC audio with my GoXLR in OBS so that I can check out other RU-vid links or something without sending it to the stream before deciding if I'll play it on stream to make sure it's not inappropriate. Thank you again!
Hello i don’t have loudness equalizer in my sound windows settings on my second pc (game - rodecaster pro 2 secondary) on Windows 11 but i have on Windows 10 thanks
I know this is for Dual Pc Streaming setup, however i changed my stuff around. I am going back to a Single PC Stream Setup, and was wondering if you could make a video describing how to set it up on a single pc
Your videos break it down nice and simple, compared to these other ones. Where they talk about useless stuff, yours are more than not straight to the point
Great guide! thank you! I only have one problem. I can't control the audio level that is coming from the streaming pc with the physical fader assigned to USB 1. It only affects what I can hear in the monitor, but doesn't lower or increases the volume like the other faders (usb2 on the gaming pc or chat) What am I doing wrong?
Great video, just a question. I normally want to run discord spotify etc on my game pc, because I also use these when not streaming too. So the question is, would it be possible to reverse it all, having the game pc as the main?
Just got the Rodecaster Pro 2. Was struggling to wrap my head around the routing. Looked up several videos / reddit posts for any info on it. This video breaks it down simply and wonderfully. One question i do have, is what channel would Alerts come through? Pc Audio? And if so does that not cause a loop from the music playing on that pc audio channel?
Yes, alerts are a challenge with this setup. Turning on PC Audio wont loop, but you'll be sending music from both Music and PC Audio sources. The easiest way is to just ditch the separate music app audio source and turn on PC Audio instead. Of course you lose the ability to control music volume within OBS. You also get all other desktop sounds but probably not a huge deal. Alternatively, you could ditch the Music source, turn on PC Audio for alerts, and use your phone or tablet via Bluetooth into the RCP2 and control the music from there and include it in your main mix. More elegant solutions involve adding something like a BEACN Mix on the Streaming PC to give you control over individual sources but I haven't personally used one. A more complicated solution would involve Voicemeter on the Streaming PC to do something similar....I may toy with this just for fun :-)
@ashy941 I used voicemeter potato for my dual pc audio before picking up a physical audio interface / mixer. Seemed to work nice besides the slight audio delay. Would love to see if you could figure something out with the usage of voicemeter.
@@Sinjordan Actually I just did :-) Its pretty easy. Try this: PC System Sound -> VM Input PC Music App Out -> VM Aux Input VM Hardware Out A1 -> RCP2 Main Stereo VM VAIO -> A1 VM AUX -> A1 OBS Remove Music App Source OBS Add Audio Output Capture - Device VM Aux Input Hope that all makes sense in my "shorthand". If not, give me a little time to put a vid together.
Hey @Sinjordan, are you using Stream Elements or Streamlabs alert boxes? If so, you can just check the box that says "Control Audio via OBS" or "Control audio via Streamlabs Desktop", respectively. Then you'll have another audio source/fader control separate from PC Audio and keep PC Audio muted.
Great video bro!! How can I make this work with 2 PC streaming using an HD60S+ capture card? I'm about to jump out a window! I haven't been able to figure it out! Any ideas?
Thought about getting one of these because I have a GoXLR that will eventually stop being supported. Just based off the video, wouldn't it be easier to flip your diagram? Meaning by using gaming PC as 1 instead of 2, only one audio track would be going into obs? At least that is what I currently do on my goxlr...I do a bit different though. I use discord on gaming PC and music on streaming PC.
Can you dedicate discord for example to slider 2, and so on similar to how you can on the goxlr ? (example': streaming pc: slider 2 discord, sldier 3, system audio, gaming pc : game audio slider 4)
hi for some reason my mic on my gaming pc sounds dank and I am unsure how to fix it. I have the shuresm7b and when I use it on my streaming pc it sounds amazing but when i hear or talk in my gaming pc it sounds super dank and loud. Can anyone please help?
So... you can't split music onto a physical fader? All the "stream PC audio" is bundled as a single channel with no way to separate say music from OBS alerts? Only option is to add those individually in OBS and manage their volume that way? I'm used to the GoXLR where you can separate apps onto faders
No, that’s not the only option. This video is the easy setup. You want the “not so easy” setup video 😉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rn1g6wxG1WM.htmlsi=xFyA7llqnMCUU-23
Man thank you so so much for doing this. I have a question, what would i do if i wanted to do everything you listed out BUT have Discord on the Gaming PC and not the streaming PC. would this be possible with this setup? Thanks again!
Amazing video and breakdown but i have a question for you , a long one so im sorry in advanced Im using a 2 pc setup also but my gaming pc is windows and my streaming pc is a mac. I also record music on my MacBook using an Apogee Symphony audio interface into protools. what is the best way to use the Apogee Symphony interface as my main audio source on the MacBook pro and at the same time feed that audio into the Rodecaster so that the stream can hear the music session as I hear it. Or maybe there's a way to use both interfaces at the same time, idk Id appreciate your help 🙏🏾
I don’t have experience with the Apogee or with Mac streaming so all I can do is speak in theory. What I THINK may be possible would be to use both interfaces tag the same time - I don’t see a reason why MacOS would have a problem with this. Then, if you were ok with not using the RodeCaster chat channel for actual chat, you could feed The Apogee output into the RCP2 chat channel and then Send that back out the main mix Alternatively, and easier would be if you have physical, analog outputs on the Apogee you could feed those into two of the mic/line inputs configured in stereo on the RCP2.
