Thank you for commenting, and best of luck with your gardening in beautiful Kentucky! It's safe to leave the diluted soap spray on plants without rinsing. You correctly heard me say in this video that I sprayed the squash plants off with fresh water after applying the cucumber beetle spray. Truth be told that I was very distracted while mixing up this batch with my toddler 'helping' and thought I may have accidently added more soap or essential oil than I intended, and so I chose to give the plants a quick rinse. I usually leave the spray on the plants without applying a freshwater rinse on squash plants and all the other types of fruits and veggies. Either way should be fine, and leaving it without an extra rinse will offer better results of eliminating pests on the plants. As an update to this patch of squash, it is presently approaching the end of their season. This patch has yielded amazingly healthy squash. I maintain weekly treatment of all the plants with the cucumber beetle spray as a preventative. I should post an update to show how this squash patch is producing in overtime! I follow a weekly care routine for the squash patch that includes spraying each plant with this DIY cucumber beetle spray, weeding, and using a simple yeast fertilizer. There's a recipe for the yeast fertilizer in another video. The cucumber beetles are gone, and the plants show very little signs of damage from pests. My favorite way to use up the abundance of zucchini is by dehydrating it and then grinding it into a powder that I use as a base for homemade egg pasta (as a substitute for wheat flour).
