Take prawns to a whole new level with this easy spice combination (RECIPE BELOW). Simply thread peeled green prawns onto bamboo skewers, add the special mix and BBQ or chargrill for a few minutes. They taste delish with the Soba noodle salad below, with steamed rice or just on their own.

SALT & PEPPER PRAWNS ON SOBA NOODLE SALAD
Serves: 4
180g soba noodles
200g frozen edamame
1 carrot, peeled, cut into matchsticks
250g snow peas, thinly sliced lengthways
½ cup coriander leaves
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp soy sauce
600g green prawns, peeled leaving tails intact, deveined
1 tsp sea salt flakes
1 tsp coarsely ground black pepper
½ tsp ground white pepper
½ tsp Chinese five spice
Lime wedges, to serve
1. Cook the noodles in a large saucepan of boiling water following packert directions, adding the snow peas in the last 30 seconds of cooking. Refresh under cold running water. Drain well.
2. Cook the edamame in a large saucepan of boiling water following packet directions. Refresh under cold running water. Drain well. Peel edameme and add to the noodle mixture. Add the carrot, coriander, sesame oil and soy sauce and toss to combine.
3. Tread the prawns onto bamboo skewers. Combine the salt, peppers and five spice in a small bowl. Lightly sprinkle prawns with half the salt mixture.
4. Heat a chargrill pan on medium. Lightly spray prawns with oil spray. Cook for 2 mins each side or until prawns change colour. Transfer to a platter. Sprinkle with a little of the remaining salt mixture.
5. Place the noodle salad on serving plates. Top with prawns. Serve with lime wedges and remaining salt mixture.
