My husband and I just returned from our vacation anniversary in Sausalito... We stayed at Hotel Sausalito... It's in close walking distance to the ferry... We ferried over to San Francisco to catch the tour bus... We got off at Fisherman's Wharf ate and shopped... We truly had a ball...❤😊❤

I did the exact same trip in 2008 by renting a bike from Fisherman's wharf and crossed the Golden Gate bridge on it to reach at Sausalito. It was a life time experience for me. Amazing and beautiful places.

Watching this video inspired me to rents bikes and ride across the GG bridge into Sausalito. It was the highlight of our trip, aside from some guys who took biking too seriously going 25 miles an hour over the bridge. We biked past Chrissy park, past the Palace of Fine Arts over the bridge and down into Sausalito and took the ferry back after spending a few hours enjoying Sausalito. Thank you for posting, initially I thought it would be too difficult, but my husband and I and our 2 boys had the best time!

That crosswind on the bridge is no joke. You basically have to lean into the wind as you ride. My wife and I have taken our bikes up to SF twice to ride across the bridge and do a full loop through Marin county. Those hills on the other side of the bridge are painful too. The weather changes so drastically you never know what to wear. With all that said, I can’t wait to go again!

It was so enjoyable to bike from Fisherman's Wharf to Sausalito and explore this beautiful place... On the way back I tried taking a right turn heading to Presidio and the California Academy of Sciences... what an exercise for the day...! But I got to see other amazing places..

Really enjoy your videos. I love visiting each year and have been to many spots covered. Visit the Cartoon Art Museum next time at Aquatic Park. It's their new location.

I have a trek mountain bike, but my wide has a beach cruiser bike. Will the ride be difficult for her on her beach cruiser w/o multiple gears?

Hey there! Most of this is flat or downhill except for a small-ish stretch on the approach to Fort Mason which is quite steep. However you guys can consider walking your bikes up for this portion.

This was fun. Cycled from Fisherman’s Wharf to Golden Gate Bridge, then through Golden Gate Park to Haight, Alamo Park (Painted Ladies), Civic Centre, and along Market Street to the Ferry Building. Had an e-bike for the hills. Did not ride to Sausalito, but wish I had so I could take the ferry back! Took a bus to Sausalito on the way to Muir Woods instead. :)

How long did this trip take from start to finish ?

Hello! Times will vary depending on 1) how many times you stop/how long you linger on each stop and 2) how fast you bike! Generally an intermediate biker with moderate pit stops will take 1.5 hours to get to Sausalito and 2 hours to get to Tiburon. Then count about 30 minutes for the ferry ride back (not including wait times). Make sure you grab a map so you don't get lost! That will also add time to your ride. I took an entire day (11-6) since I was stopping frequently to set my camera and film plus I had a huge pit stop for lunch.

Hi kenji ii - thanks for watching my video! Being on the coast, the weather tends to stay fairly temperate year round with not a ton of fluctuations from season to season. August is at the height of our summer and the temperatures should be between 55-70 degrees F (or between 13-20 degrees C). However, keep in mind that the temperature does fluctuate quite a bit during the daytime -- starts off cold in the morning, then gets hot when the marine layer burns off, then back to cold again at night. Generally it's a good idea to plan layers that you can take on and off; short sleeve/tank, a longer sleeve shirt and a light jacket just in case. Also, if you plan to travel south or north for day trips, the temperatures are about 10 degrees F + warmer leaving the city.
