How about we do a camera follow series? It could help if we actually want our character to move and the camera following us! Instead of the character staying still and the bg moving

I love it. All these polish effects really take a game from feeling like an experiment to something "real" that they come back to and share with friends. The GUI layer management is clever. I had essentially brute forced it in my game for the scene changes. I think I'll rework it to be more flexible like this the next time I add a new element. I particularly like the darkened curtain that lets some gameplay behind the splash screen continue!
Griffpatch this tutorial is INSANE! I think that next you can add a Boss Fight. or maybe player skins. or maybe power ups. or maybe camera scrolling:) the boss fight can be spawned when a player reaches a score of 100 and then you can create a clone double the size. or you could add another sprite for it and maybe the boss can shoot lemon juice lasers at you! for the skins you can make a loading screen like the blay button one, but it gives you customizable options for the player. for the power ups you can make lemons at one point drop a different type of power like extra speed or double shooter. and the camera scrolling will make it much more like a real world. i think adding small partical effects floating around and having a animated backdrop would be cool too to make it more spacey.
tysm griffpatch for getting back for this epic series i hope you make a part 5 where big lemon's have a chanse to drop an power up that make the shooting more fun and easier for a bit of time. for example you get a power up it's random but every power up has it's own style / color like maybe a a really long laser or a laser that shoot's everywhere or a one that chase's the closest enemy. or maybe you need to kill a lemon to charge ur power bar and if it's full maybe you get a big long laser and the power bar will digress untill it's empty and the cool laser will turn off and get back to the normal short laser's becuse it will like the space game's on mobile game app's or on flash game's i know it will hard and more likely u can't do that in scratch but i hope you can find a way to do it
I think the players should work together to destroy lemonoids... Or maybe it's last man standing type of game where the lemonoids are just enemy NPC's.
Hey griffpatch, I've been trying to merge my modified version of this tutorial with your cloud multiplayer tutorial. When watching the tutorials, it struck me that I would very quickly hit the clone limit. How would I make this work with all the laser clones needed?

It ia amazing to see how much you can code in scratch! I have followed so many of your tutorial and they are amazing! I have a suggestion, though. Could you do a tutorial on how to make a scrolling side menu with a scrollbar? I would really help me in my projects!
I have an awesome idea for the platformer series! It would be awesome if you add a final boss fight! I searched a lot on youtube but I can't find any tutorial about boss fights so I guess it would be awesome if you do :D
you could add power ups which could have a small chance of spawning when you kill a big lemon, or any other scenario. maybe faster laser shooting, double player health, slow lemons, lasers do x2 damage, one time use force field, etc. and maybe… (maybe this is a bit over the top) stop time for a short period of time? where lemons, lasers etc. are frozen in place except you? or maybe time reverse but I doubt that’s possible.
it would be cool if you could have different types of lasers (maybe one that bounces, big ray that goes through many lemons) also maybe food to restore health

Were you counting the bonus "episodes" for scores and health as well? Yeah...I only counted the mainline episodes. If you're interested to look, I've been keeping some statistics for them in the comment section

I wish griffpatch makes this a multiplayer game. By the way I added limes to my game by just duplicating the lemon sprite and color it green in the costume editor.
Amazing video!!! I have an Idea to add on to the raycaster series. I was thinking about adding furniture or items or maybe even different kinds of entities that stay still and act like furniture. Either that or how to change textures.
oooo i have an interesting idea for bosses, maybe at certain score or time a boss will appear, or maybe you have gotten better ideas? also I have some boss concept's: 1. Chunky Lemonoid: Hp: 100 Ability: Launch at player 2. LemonShip: Hp: 150 Ability: Shoot laser beam every 20s 3. Mega Lemonoid: Hp: 225 Abillity: Summons Big lemonoids or maybe 2 Chunky Lemonoid? 4. LemonSpaceCarrier: Hp: 250 Ability: Summon Chunky lemonoid, and Shoot mini lasers every 15s Debuff: REALLY SLOW 5. GiganticLemonSpaceCarrier(Final Boss): Hp: 295 Ability: Summon Mini LemonSpaceCarrier, and shoot Big laser every 35s, Debuff: Almost as fast as a snail, Buff: Laser Deals alot DAMAGE Also add upgrades or else this concept might not work...

Love that gui layering technique, it's very clever! I don't like how the lemon health bars show up on a new game though, maybe you could hide that like the score on first start.
