The way you bring a stamp set to life is amazing! When I was small, all presents under the tree were from family members. Santa used to leave our presents on and around a chair. We all had a chair each in our home and the homes of my two Aunt's and Uncle's. I carried this tradition on with my children. However, my daughter didn't carry it on with my grandchildren, and when I tried, my granddaughter asked why Santa hadn't wrapped her presents. I told her that if Santa wrapped the presents out of the money I gave to him, then she would get less presents. She thought for a while and said, "Well Meme, I would rather have them wrapped up". 😁
What a marvelous release! Those sentiments are THE BEST -- beautyful vintage designs. Your confidence and techniques are mind-blowing. My folks had a few wrapped presents under the tree up until Christmas, but the BIG SHOW was assembled after we kids went to bed -- my middle little sister insisted on sleeping with me. I decided I needed to breathe loudly, rhythmically to lull her to sleep. She said I made it hard for her to fall asleep. Classic encapsulation of each of us. My parents gave us the best Christmases in the world. I hated not being able to duplicate it; my kids got 80% of their gifts when we piled into the car to go to my parents'.
When I had my kiddos, we all ways would take them to see the Christmas lights. A lot of towns have ones that you drive through to look at, so that is what we did. Now I do that every year with my grandkids.
My parents brought the tree in on Dec 23 or 24. When we went to bed on Christmas Eve, there was nothing on the tree or under the tree! My parents decorated the tree and put the presents under the tree after we fell asleep.Then Christmas morning, WOW, it was magical. There was the tree, all decorated, with tinsel ( remember that?) making the tree sparkle. And then under the tree were all the presents. No other moment in my life was as magical as that. I don’t know how my parents did it. Who knows how late they stayed up to do all that, and then we started going into their bedroom early Christmas Day to ask if we could get up. They made us wait until 4:00 am and then they would get up, turn on the tree and let us in the room to open our stockings and gifts. It was, as I said, magical! Love your card.
Mason opens his Christmas Eve box and we watch a movie. Once he’s asleep we put out the gifts and fill the stockings with candy. All of Santa’s gifts are wrapped in Santa paper and the rest from mom and dad are wrapped in whatever paper. Super cute card.
So pretty & sweet to imagine what is going on in all ofbthe houses on Christmas Eve! The little kids trying to gobto sleep so Santa will hurry up. The mice all snuggled in their beds as well because "no creature was stirring" & the parents relaxing before the excitement the next morning!! Sigh..... I'm not ready for Christmas lol❤❤
When my children were at home, the gifts from mom and dad were wrapped and placed under the tree. Then the gifts from Santa were always left unwrapped and were usually the gifts that had to be put together, like bikes or doll houses. My children always ALWAYS had to be awakened on Christmas morning. I almost never slept on Christmas night.
Hi Kelly! I’ve been away for awhile due to health and family issues. I’ve missed your family stories so much. I came across this video and something’s never change. You’re still having sinus problems , and you still love scene cards. Love this card, it reminds me of coloring books I always got at Christmas every year, as a child. As far as Christmas traditions, we always went to the mall and had kids pics taken with Santa and had them dressed in their special matching outfits. Then we would drive around all the fancy neighborhoods with the best lights. I miss all those years. ❤❤❤

Hi Kelly, I took a break from stamping for a bit and am now back and watching you make this beautiful card, which is such an inspiration to me! My kids are grown now, but when they were little we always picked a night to drive around our neighborhood to look at the Christmas Lights and then came home to hot cocoa and cookies. Any gifts from “santa” were put out late at night after our kids were asleep. My husband was a professional firefighter, so I know exactly what you are doing to keep it normal. He was on B Shift and didn’t get a Christmas off until our kids were teenagers. So, we would get up super early before he left for work to unwrap our gifts.
Being German when we were kids our families like my mom and her sisters families all got together for christmas eve. And each year rotated houses Had hor'derves and music and drinks. Kids all played together always fun I miss it...Germans have one holiday for extended family and friends and one for home family christmas day was just our home family
When I was a kid Christmas Eve was the most important night. My parents made a special dinner and an adult took us out for a walk to look for Santa. When we came back all the presents were under the tree. Santa had been there while we were out looking for him. Such a special memory to this day.
Crazy LOVE THIS ONE SO MUCH ❤❤❤❤ we always opened gifts on Christmas Eve then Christmas morning what Santa brought and spent Christmas Day playing with all the things and eating! When I was a kid ❤🎉
My husband’s family all went to grandpa & grandma’s house on Christmas Eve. Depending on who was driving, it was it could take up to 3 hours but it was the only time that we talked to any of the aunts, uncles, and cousins.
We make homemade clam chowder, linguisa (Portuguese sausage), we would go to church and then I got to open 1 present. Usually always Christmas Jammies that my Mom made for me.. It was a beautiful childhood.
Wow a lot went into this card! But it is beautiful. Love, love, love it!! Our tradition was to take a late night walk around the neighborhood, then hot chocolate when we got back.

When my son was little, we always went from our home near Washington, DC, to my in-laws’ home near Boston for Christmas. The presents from Mommy and Daddy went into the car to go under the tree at Gramma & Grampa’s. Everything else got stuffed into the car, and then The Boy got strapped into the car seat. When everything was ready to pull out of the driveway, my husband or I would make a last trip into the house to “make sure everything was turned off;” what we were really doing was moving the presents “from Santa” from wherever we’d stashed them to under the tree for him to find when we got home. He believed for quite a long time.
always took our kids to see or walk the lights but now they have kids of their own. we used to open presents from grandma and grandpa so there was room for Santa and as our kids started having families we did Christmas Eve then they could do their own thing on Christmas Day. My daughter has one when she puts gifts under the tree. she ends up opening them even if not hers. lol

Our tradition growing up was that we all got to open one present Christmas Eve (usually guided to us by our parents) but it wasn't pj's lol My birthday is actually Christmas so our kids and grandkids come home every year (okay they only live an hour away) but because it's my birthday we always get them for Christmas, so special!
Great card! I’m always amazed watching you tap your paintbrush for spatters. I have to tap it on something. If I tapped like you do I would tap it down onto the card!🤣🤣🤣
When I saw the notification for this card, girl, I hit that phone so hard to select your video that I knocked my phone over! So beautiful! I don't know what it is about houses in winter scenes but it is my favorite. So peaceful. Getting me in the Christmas spirit Kelly!
We drove everywhere. Christmas Eve to my Mom's parents , Christ morning we had our Christmas early, get dressed and have a breakfast open house till 10:30 then off to my Dad's parents.
Beautiful card, kelly. I started giving my niece's and nephew's a Christmas decoration each year. But now they are at university and working its started to drop off. So now I have started making a special Christmas card for each of my teammates.

My parents used to hide big gifts in the attic. No way was my dad putting things together Christmas Eve. There were a few years in a row where a bike was coming down from the attic. We also did church Christmas Eve late so that added to the festivities.
Gifts from Santa went under the tree and were not wrapped on Christmas Eve. We go looking at Christmas lights sometime the week before Christmas because some people who go somewhere else for Christmas won’t turn their lights on when they aren’t home.
