Terebinthia is an Intermediate level, lacy, rectangular shawl that features a STUNNING, all-over lace design and optional beading. In this video, I demonstrate how to knit the 12-row repeating lace pattern and show you how to add the beads.

how i learned to knit, my husband showed me how he picked it up quickly, i almost gave up, but, looking at my husband looking disappointed in me, i tried again, and was amazed at how i was knitting, i told him, i can do it, he was so happy to hear it. He is now in heaven, he passed away 10 yrs ago suddenly . i also run an animal sanctuary for senior dogs and cats. they helped me get through, as i was helping them. I came across your videos, i like your videos, and you explain stuff so simple . My favorite things is caring for dogs and cats, and knitting and also crocheting

I have been knitting for 50 years and this is the FIRST TIME EVER I tried using beads! Thank you SO MUCH for your step by step instructions. Without it, I would not have understood if pb, k3, pb meant the pb stitches are included in the k3 or not! And though I was nervous at first, once I did it, I really enjoy it! Yes, it adds an extra layer of "slowness" to the process, but that is what makes knitting so peaceful, reflective, and fun, right? I would have NEVER tired this without your video and pattern! Just like you said in the video that I’d probably practice and learn with a full ball of yarn, I did. I’ve purchased lots of your gorgeous yarns! At present I’m knitting the Ondinea Shawl. I have been knitting for only about 10 years, even though I have wanted to knit ever since I was a child (now in my 60s). While I am not the best knitter, and certainly not a fast knitter, I love trying one new stitch with each new project. The last project that met that condition was a small lacy cowl. I made it twice with sparkly recycled sari silk yarn, and gave one away. The pattern had a variation with beads, and after watching Chandi's tutorial about adding beads, I knew I could do it, and I did. The yarn was an inexpensive lace-weight acrylic, since I made it for my daughter, who is not into caring for fine yarns. It was gorgeous! I was so proud of it, but I forgot to take photos of it before I gave it to my daughter this Christmas. I have been looking for a pattern with beads that was not too complicated, and Terebinthia looks like the perfect pattern. Thank you, Chandi, for sharing this great pattern with us!

It's so much easier than you think. It looks amazing and complicated. Just don't over-think it. Pick a bead that has a hole big enough that the double over yarn you are using will fit through. YOU GOT THIS!

I have been crocheting for almost 20 years and finally learned to knit (successfully) during COVID lockdown using the Portuguese method. This January, I discovered the Norwegian style of knitting and my knitted pieces have surpassed my crocheted creations. I have yet to crochet with beads because it just looks like macrame, but this knitted pattern is gorgeous and timeless!

My first passion was beading. I loved weaving the beads. Then my mom talked me into card making. I made cards with beads, then when I heard I was going to be a grandma, I had to make garments and afghans for my grandson. Then I found you!!!! And The Mysa Wrap video was out and I couldn't resist. The Mysa is the fist time I've beaded with yarn. And I love this pattern and the yarn is 1 of my favorites! I got several!!! Love and hugs to you and your staff, that includes Tim, too! P.S. Alas, I'm not done with the Mysa... I had to thread the beads on the yard before knitting as the holes are too small for my tiny crochet hooks. The beads are the correct size for the pattern. Oh well, happy knitting!

My Mother taught me to knit at age 8 using the 4-H methods and steps of increasing difficulty each year. I caught on quickly and knit my first sweater at age 9. I did knit with beads on a small coin purse. Oh my, the beads really took that project OTT. I love to keep at least 2 projects on the needles at a time, one for quick pick up for travel or Dr. appointments and one for TV time. The Terebinthia will be a TV project. Just beautiful ❤. I used to live in Bayonne NJ and I used to go over the Bayonne bridge with a bunch of wonderful women who taught my daughter and me how to knit. They were a church group of about 50 women who taught each other how to knit and crochet while their kids were in school. We came along when they were in their late 40’s. Anyway we used to go on trips to NY CITY to knit shops and dinners floor shows with teachers models showing what they made. It was so much fun. I couldn’t get enough. Anyway we used to go to Staten Island to take lessons on how to make different things and that’s where I learned how to do beading. I actually made a scarf and a poncho with beads that I still have. I won’t give them up lol. I love what you make everything is so beautiful. Thanks for the videos ❤

I don't knit, actually. But I do crochet, and I have crocheted with beads. It looks like knitting with beads is easier than crocheting because in knitting (as you show in this tutorial), you place your beads one by one when the pattern calls for it. Instead of placing all the beads in the yarn at the very beginning, like you do when crocheting with beads. You make me want to try knitting with beads! Gorgeous shawl and scarf. This is a beautiful beaded pattern. I knit a beautiful beaded 2pky christening gown for my niece, 33years ago as a beginning knitter. 680 tiny pearl beads had to be threaded onto the yarn and slid up the yarn as pattern required. It was truly a labor of love but I haven’t knit with beads since. However, after watching your tutorial and seeing how beautiful this pattern is, I think I’m going to try this technique. Thank you.

I taught myself to crochet at a young age, but I was a late comer to knitting & have only recently started to knit european style after watching you knit. Albeit slow on the pearl side due to the way I hold the yarn over the middle finger (my crochet style). After my son was born I had an urge to make him lovely knitted jumpers & made many over the years. I've never done beaded knitting but would love to try. I don't knit with beads very often but when I do, it's always such a beautiful project and gets lots of compliments. I love the added weight. I really started knitting in my mid twenties when I got into cloth diapers! I saw other people knitting wool shorts and pants for coverings. I had learned the basics in a 7th grade home-ec class and thought "I can do that!". I knit a scarf then jumped right in to shorts and pants and haven't stopped 20 yrs later. Thank you for these wonderful videos and patterns!

I have been knitting for over 50 years. My mother and both of my grandmothers knitted and crocheted. I did knit a scarf that had beads. The way you showed on how to add beads is much easier than what I originally did.

I've done lots of projects and given them away as gifts. I tried beading, picked up the same technique and knitted a lovely shawl for myself. I have done several since then as gifts. So worth the extra effort to make a project that extra bit special xx

Wow! This pattern is absolutely gorgeous! I’ve never knit with beads before, but after seeing how easy it is, I have to give it a go. This seems doable. I have been so afraid to do anything beyond beginner knitting. I mostly crochet because it is comfortable and what I learned first. Now and then I do a knitting project and just love the sound of the needles at work. I know that sounds a little weird. I made some dog sweaters for my son's shivering puppy this winter. It was so fun and I am ready for a new knitting project. This pattern has me excited to try it, even the beads! Thank you Chandi!

I have been knitting since I was very young. I am right handed and was learning from a left handed mother. It was challenging for me, as a little kid, but I kept at it and finally learned. I love knitting, it relaxes me. I have never knit with beads because I thought it was WAAAY harder than this. I would love to try this. Thank you for taking the time to explain, and show, how easy this really is. I would love to win. I ordered something one time from your site. I saved up $182.00, which was what the yarn cost for my project and I never got the yarn, there was some kind of mix-up. I was so very disappointed, I actually cried over that. I had my heart set on getting that yarn, it was beautiful purple. I guess it was God telling me something different. Anyway, I love this project. Thank you for your time. God bless.
