I'm a chemo patient trying to learn how to do wraps before I lose my hair, thank you for having the prettiest and teaching the EASIEST way to wrap them...
I'm a Catholic who recently decided to cover my hair for prayer and modesty. I've looked at head wrap videos, but most tend to be Muslim turban style, which I really like but I wear them too far back and they fall off. So I learned of this style, I like that you gave a tip on how to keep it on as well! I will definitely keep practicing! Great video!
+pomona I'm sorry but I don't use hijab anymore. I find it a little problematic lately. But yes as long as you dont show your cleavage. I think if your body is modest the hair doesn't matter that much. I live in middle east and I have seen grown women with skirts until the knee and a very conservative still of hijab 😂😂 So I'm trying to do the opposite, giving more importance to the body than the hair. Also I don't wanna be confused with salafis, I don't agree with them.
I really admire how you cover your hair. I'm a Christian working towards modesty. I don't cover my head yet (starting to do so now only when I pray), but this is very inspiring. So stylish and still beautiful.
Hi Rivka! I lost all my hair from cancer treatment. ugh.. But found your videos today; love them, honest, unedited and you are just super cute. All the women look so beautiful. I am going to try wearing a scarf instead of a wig. Thank you, so much! Patikaat, aka mamakat to 3 kittens.
Rivka, can you do a tutorial on choosing tichel styles for various face shapes? I want to cover my hair for more practical reasons. My face shape is very round, for instance. I have daughters with lovely oval faces, and some with round. Tips for choosing colours for various skin/hair colourings would also be wonderful.
First, you are so beautiful. I absolutely love this look!! I have really curly hair and sometimes i just put it in a bun because i can't do anything with it. I feel frumpy with just a messy bun. This look is going to change how feel wearing a bun. I can now dress up even with a bad hair day because of the tichel. With all the beautiful colors and textures and your tips on how to wear two or more at a time, I'll never have another bad hair day. Thank you sooo much!!!
just put your hair in a pny or bun - then cover it with a nylon grip. The best thing to do is to get a very cheap pair of pantyhose (queen size) and cut off the legs, use the top part to cover your hair and it should all stay in , no problem
I wear this style a lot, I'm Muslim, although I will have to try it with a nylon grip because I can never keep it on securely. I've had a scarf like the one in the video but it's so old I don't know where I got it, I really like those because they wrap really well, do you know what store sells them?
@@Madhi241 I understand your frustration. I too went thru trying to keep a head covering on. Then I found Wrapunzel.com. Look it up, online. They have a huge assortment of scarves. And they have velvet headbands that keep everything from slipping. I cannot keep a covering on without one. Also they have a wendy which is a headband and shaper combined. I wear that sometimes instead, but I took all of the stuffing out as my hair is knee length and fills it up without the stuffing. Hope you find what you need to make your challenges a thing of the past.
As a chemo patient, wearing a modified tichel variation has been my go to style. I like it long in back to cover my neck, and i always use an underscarf. Its a nicer look than just a chemo beanie. Generally, I prefer chiffon and a lace undercap, in neutral colors. Most breathable! The hijab suppliers on the Arab side has beautiful shades that work perfectly for every day.
Thank youu~ I'm not Jewish, I'm rromani, but my dad isn't in the picture and my moms white so I don't know how to do these things ! Since this is how I see other Rrom do their dikhle, I really appreciate you sharing !
I am Jewish myself and I'm only 14 but I still do the classic but yet I always have problems because I haven't done it until this year. Thank you thank you thank you 🙏💕
I absolutely love this style. I'm getting into the headscarf, especially for summer. We just don't have headscrfs here. Maybe one store carries them. Thank you for the tutorial. Just beautiful.
My long hair has gotten thicker as I age...go figure! When I wear it up, my scalp starts to hurt after a couple of days with any new style. Pretty soon, my whole head is sore. I want to try these beautiful, protective styles but I need a tutorial for the underlayer! Is there any way to secure the hair that does not take pins or hairbands?
I have jewish ancestry and I think women look beautiful and feminine wearing the tichel,i also find the muslim veil and the indian sari very beautiful,as a man I think women look much more atractive wearing tichel, veil, sari compared to modern female fashion,it gives a message of womanhood, fertility and chaste sensuality

@@yelloworange3125 First off, My comment was rude and shitty and ignorant and at the time my understandings of islam were not as in depth as they are now. Tichels are 100 percent jewish, Hijabs are 100 percent muslim, Both are individual and valid and of deep importance. I was referring to misinformation I had about the history of the hijab in specific. I'm Jewish, I understand there are scriptural references and reasons as to why jewish women cover :) Sending lots of love and positive vibes
Hey...I am an indian and m nt jew...I love this style of covering hair....Will surely try this...n actually this will help my hair from getting dirty too often.....love ur video....b u r beautiful....thanks
I wear the classic for when I go on the kill floor to inspect beef. I work as a federal meat inspector on a kosher line and the classic allows for my hard hat to fit and my hearing protection.
Rivka, I love all your videos!! You make me wish I lived in Baltimore so we can be friends and I could pick your brain about Torah! hahaha OK so after I watched the Shopping video I went out and bought some beautiful tichels to play up the "Classic". Got lovely tichels for winter, chanukah etc. But I JUST realized that NONE of them are squares! Literally they are ALL super long rectangles and Im going nuts trying to get them into triangles! Can I ask the stupid question here? help!
Do you have any videos on summer modest wear? And this video is amazing. My first time watching and I am very interested in dressing more modest and headcovering.
It looks very nice, but I am 73 and look horrible with them because of my neck and back is curbing. We women like to look good even when we are old, don't we?
How do you do the first step of wrapping all your hair up without knotting it or having it fall out? You skipped that step, and that is the area I have the most trouble with.
I have been watching your videos you have such a beautiful face I do not know how to tie to make myself look beautiful as my face is quite round and chubby.....add on 68 yrs of wrinkles..... do you have any suggestions or how to videos???
I have a quick question....is there a reason you always tuck your ties/ends? I don't know if it's part of the tying "rules" so I thought I'd ask. I love your videos!
I'm just learning about covering and wanted to tell you I love your channel :D My question is, do you always wear something underneath the tichel or is that for modesty for the video?
How do you keep the tichel from slipping?I find when I wear mine, the weight (or bulk) of my natural hair keeps pulling my tichel back, and I am always self-conscious that I am showing too much hair.Thank you!
try wearing something underneath so it doesnt slip of, like a bonnet or just buy silk socks and cut then and the bottom part goes on your head :) or a little expensive option would be to buy the same that goes under a wig! hope i could help, greetings from Israel! :)
I have been having difficulty with pressure on the upper part of my ears. I wear hearing aids and glasses, and my ears become uncomfortable after just a few hours. I figured I was tying too tight, and have been using the head wrap, but my ears still hurt....Any suggestions?
I know you didn't ask me, but ME TOO. I don't wear hearing aids OR glasses but the pressure makes my ears hurt! I've noticed that sometimes I wrap it in a way that allows a bit more freedom, or looser, I guess. It's really hard to explain, but the tightness is always the main factor for me... I'd like to know, too, though!!
Jewish married women cover their hair for modesty in public but when alone with their husbands, off comes the head covering. If you want to use scarfs as fashion, do it Muslims wear the hijab they took it from Judaism as they did many other things such as fasting in Ramadan well we Jews fast on Yom Kippur, we pray 3 times a day Muslims pray several times a day as well basically Muhammad took many things from the Old Testament and put it into his new founded religion which ultimately of course became something other than a religion but let's not mix apples or oranges
how is covering your hair modest? BTW i love the hair tie. i would just wear it for fun, But I don't think hair is sexual. The neck is more sexual then hair. just cover your whole face.
Hair is something private for your husband when you get married, so it's covered in public. (In some Jewish tradition.) Not required if not married though.
you know what? almost in all religions Hair is holy , and i mean WOMEN hair . it has some power. and stop " catching" me in my words because it doesn't make sense. and also for example in Christianity women STILL cover their hair when going in Church and lighting candle so stop arguing when you know you aren't right.
